Firstly thanks BH for including me on this trail. When I received the delivery the first thing I noticed was how luxurious the packing felt. The box has a matte feel with some embossing (always a win), and the bottle has a 1920’s art deco charm, with the brown glass and panel styling. I’ll be honest, in that I like this packing better than many other similar high end product bottles. The product itself is a yellowish colour, with a consistently somewhere between milk and a thick shake. It’s has a really pleasant, light fragrance that doesn’t linger after application. The application instructions are for 4 drops to be used across the face and blended in. The serum blends easily, is not greasy. I found that it also absorbed easily, which is wonderful for someone who generally fails at following s skin care routine when it’s too involved. Being fast absorbing also means it doesn’t stop me putting on make up in the morning waiting for it to dry. I’ve not had any issues applying this under make up so there is another bonus. The only down side to this is the dropper applicator. While it is pretty, it does feel pretty useless since the serum is too thick to really use it properly. I found I was more pasting on the drops on rather than dropping. In terms of results, I found my skin did feel noticeably more smooth after few days of application. I also felt that I did look more refreshed, maybe even glowy although I wouldn’t necessarily say that it reduced my wrinkles. I think I am likely to continue to buy/use the serum because it made me feel good and application was so incredibly simple.

The condition of my nails has been abysmal in recent weeks. I haven’t painted them since March and have been moving house dipping them in and out of paint, using them to rip open boxes. The end result? Dry and cracked cuticles and torn and broken nails. An all round mess. So, getting the opportunity to trail the Manicare 2~in~1 cleaner and pusher I jumped at the chance. The tool is pretty luxurious for what it is. It comes in a little black velvet pouch for the pen sized tool. Made from Japanese steel, with an easy to grip handle, the pusher sits perfectly in the hand. It is double ended. One side is what you would describe as you standard pusher/scrapper, curved to fit your nail. The other is more like a little a cutter with a small angled blade that made short work of the those crusty cuticles I mentioned. Although I would caution that it is quiet sharp so keep it away from the little ones, and if you’re clumsy like me, maybe use with supervision. I used this as part of a standard manicure but think it. would be great for cleaning up polish, but again with caution because it is sharp. The instructions also say to rinse after use and air dry and given how germ aware we’ve become I think it’s good to mention. Overall really easy to use but a massive upgrade compared to the orange sticks I grew up using.

Between missing trips to the salon due to COVID closures and then moving house using my nails for all sorts of uncouth, and ghastly tasks that would have my manicurist in shock, I was in desperate need of a manicure. Enter Manicare, as if Santa had read my Christmas list. The 2~in~1 cuticale pusher is that little bit of luxury. Arriving in its own little blue velvet sleeve the pusher and file is a double ended, lightweight pen size tool. As I said, my claws were like some thing out of a Lord of the Rings book and this thing worked wonders. The clear handle and matte white tips, which are made from European crystal, known for lasting sharpeners, looked oddly elegant in my hands (at least until I had tamed the unruly talons). I really like the fact that one end was your standard slanted shape white the other was point allowing me to really get into the corners where that awful dry skin in. I used this on dry hands and had great, fast and painless results but it can be used on wet if this is your preference. Overall this is definitely something I will be reaching for each week.

The No Hair Cut Cream forms part of the trio with the shampoo and conditioner of the same name. It has the same base ingredients (keratin, vitamins and castor oil), but this product is more like a leave in conditioner. The bottle is the similar orange color, but is a smaller squeeze bottom with a pop top lid- this makes it much easier to portion. It is also a cream rather than a liquid so thicker. I used this on dry hair before straightening my hair, and in damp hair and in between washes and in both situations I could Instantly feel the moisture the product added to my hair. My hair felt felt soft to the touch and was shiny- the down side to this being that my hair is quiet fine and I found this did weigh my hair down significantly. To combat this I used this on dry hair in the evening before bed, tied my hair up and washed out in the morning. My hair is nourished and smooth, and there is noticeably left breakage through tangles. I haven’t used it long enough to say it has removed the need for a trim but it is definitely a start!

I mentioned in the shampoo review about the smell of this product and I must say the conditioner has the same scent and I am still here for it. Like the shampoo, the product is filed with vegetal keratin, vitamins and castor oil to help with tangles and less breakage. As you would expect the conditioner is more creamy, and thicker than the shampoo. The bottle is the same design with the flip lid and again this means it is hard to not over distribute but these are minor issues. Given I have fine hair I find that many conditioners tend to weigh down my hair and if I am honest I found the same with this product. I tried using it only in my ends and had better results. I found my ends did feel much more conditioned and nourished, and my hair didn’t tangle easily. I didn’t have that dreaded silicon feel so these are all wins in my book. I cannot say that my hair grew a lot in this time, however it does feel stronger, or less fragile so I think overtime this might be a product that I don’t just like but I love!

I recently lost a good portion of my hair due to a vitamin deficiency and had to chop it all off so have being trying to grow it back thicker and stronger since. I have very thin fragile hair which is prone to tangles and splitting. Enter L’Oreal Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo. The product is filled with vegetal keratin, vitamins and castor oil which are claimed to the reinforce fragile lengths and ends, and help with split ends by cleansing the roots and scalp. The bottles are big- 325ml, and have a flip top lid. It is easy enough to open the lid and squeeze out the creamy coloured shampoo, although it is not so easy to control the amount poured. I did have to Really watch this as the product lathers well and only a small amount is required. First thing I noticed was the smell. It’s beautiful. My nose isn’t quiet refined enough to work out the nodes but its fresh, slightly floral but not over powering. The shampoo itself cleans well for both my scalp and hair. It didn’t leave my hair with the rubbery feel that you get with shampoos filed with silicons so there is another win. I can’t credit the shampoo with any changes to the structure of my hair as I didn’t notice any huge changes but also didn’t have an tangling issues either so another win!

Ok, I am going to start off strong by saying that this has been the most life changing trial I have done with BH, and I cannot thank them enough for bringing the Foreo Luna 3 into my life. Generally speaking I will like a product and may even change it out for one I use as part of my routine, the difference with this is that I have never used anything like so has actually lead my to change my routine (see life changing!). Basically I have had ok skin most of my life and really as a result I am lazy with my skin care but as I enter my 30’s I find myself getting sun spots, dry patches and breakouts when I don’t drink enough water, eat too much sugar, eat nuts, hormones or basically when I do anything other than breath and I am... or should I say lost with what to do. Enter the Foreo Luna 3. The pink silicon vibrating sponge of sorts. When I was offered the trial I had to see what it was about since I was clueless, and I found out that in general terms it is a vibrating cleanser brush designed to help cleanse deep and it does. Fast forward a few days and this nicely packed beauty turns up on my doorstep. I unbox it, taking time to appreciate the neat little drawstring carry bag, and put it on charge. I read through the very limited written instructions and see it can do 650 cleansing on one charge (yeyyy). Once charged I downloaded the app and paired the device and I was good to go- which in reality I had no idea what that actually meant because my only criticism is the limited printed instructions, which wasn’t such an issue after I played around on the app. There are something like 16 different setting and recommendations for the best way to use this with video instructions for a one minute cleanse and I will admit I started to wonder how practical this was if I had to use the app every time I wanted to wash my face but learned by accident that pressing the on button twice given you a minute of vibration (assume this is on the last setting used). So after my first use I put down the magical pink brush and felt my face, then I felt it again and again and again because holy unicorns it was so soft, and it was then I knew that I was in love. While it is recommended to use the Foreo twice a day I have only been using this in the evening because I din’t want to overwhelm my skin by suddenly starting to give it attention. I even used a really basic Nivea cleanser because I figured that anything with beads or exfoliating might take of too much, and I was extra careful around my nose ring (not that I needed to be). And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better I discovered the massage function which is claimed will help tighten and firm skin around the neck and face, and while I can’t say I noticed much in this regard I can say that these functions were relaxing and even helped reduced a tension headache I had as a result of a sinus infection so even more bonus points. Also I did have a mild panic attack after using it in the shower and then thinking, “what if it isn’t water proof?” But I shouldn’t have worried since they have that covered too! I also read that the parts are life long and should never require replacement and started to wonder if the only thing this thing couldn’t do was cook and. I was right it cant’ cook but it does everything else that I need or could want it to that that’s ok. I have experienced some purging which is to be expected but even then my skin tone is much more even, and overall my skin looks much healthier that these pesky pimples are barely noticeable and clear up in a few days. I have even recommended it to my friend who has skin issues, and while the price is a little much to outlay she has recently purchased a mini of an early version (the new one last longer, is a little bigger, has more settings and touchpoints) as a stepping stone Foreo and is love saving for the Luna 3. So once again, thanks BH for the trial and Foreo for changing my skin’s life.

So I have recently submitted the reviews for the remover and file which I found to be great work horses for my... work horses aka my tootsies. But this is the one tool in the series that is going to be the most consistently used. Firstly and it’s something I didn’t mention earlier, I LOVE THE MATTE BLACK! the colour choice really stood out for me. It’s something so simple but it’s just that thing that set this apart from other exfoliator for me. Secondly, it’s spongy making it easy to grip and easy to mould to the grooves of your feet’s and toes. Thirdly it’s not something that is going to take off cm’s of dead skin but is great for daily use to make sure you don’t get to the point of needing the remover. I used this in conjunction with the remover and file and on it own, both on wet feet and dry and truthfully it’s does what is needs to and looks good doing it. The whole trio are a win for me!

I am guilty of letting my feet do all the hard work and not giving them much love for it and during Winter this is even more the case since I’m mostly in boots and they’re not on display- so perfect timing to give this trio a good test. After soaking my feet and using the remover to get rid of the really gross stuff I tried out the file. Like the remover it is light and easy to hold. The grip is good and so is the length of the handle. The double side file gives you a good mix of a coarse file and a fine file. I found it really easy to use and to get into the grooves and clean of the little bits left by the remover. From an everyday point of view this is more likely to be used more often than the remover as the hope is I won’t let my feet get to such a bad state again. This is the ideal for in between maintenance.

Every year it’s the same story, I look at my feet and cringe and the state I’ve let them get to, and finding time for a pedicure sounds easier than it is so this file came just in time. Firstly it’s light, and has an easy grip handle. Secondly it comes with an awesome “catcher” which catches all the (for want of a better word) shavings. So little mess! It kind of looks like a little chocolate grater so was much less intimidating than a straight blade. I followed the recommendations and used the remover after a shower. This helped to soften the skin and made it easy use. I didn’t have to scrap too hard or apply too much pressure and found the hideous skin came off without much trouble. The chocolate grater design also meant I wasn’t so scared of taking off big chunks like I have with the blade. I did use this in conjunction with the file and exfoliator, and use this twice to get off everything but found this to be the thing that from a maintenance point of view has been missing.
