I am absolutely in love with this hairdryer, I have no idea how much it cost because all of that has been kept secret but in my opinion it works just as well as one of the more pricey and similar looking hairdryers on the market. I love the simplicity of this dryer, it has three heat settings, cold, warm and hot, which are very easy to change by pressing one little button and there’s a coloured ring that lights up blue, orange or red so that you know what the setting is straight away. There is a simple slide switch to go from off to low speed or high speed and again for me that’s all I need, I usually just use the highest speed setting which drives my short hair very quickly and add some body which is great. I love the look of this hairdryer with its sleek black colour scheme with rose gold accents, the filter cover is actually a rose gold cylinder at the bottom of the handle that just clicks on magnetically so it’s easy to clean any buildup from the machine. It comes with one attachment for concentrating airflow and it clicks on magnetically over the barrel which is really quick and convenient plus there’s less risk of damaging where the attachment connects to the barrel because there’s no force having to click something in and then pull it out again. I find this hairdryer to be relatively light and I really love the shape with the long handle to hold onto and a short barrel as I find it very easy to manoeuvre and I’m not smacking myself in the head with a long heavy barrel, which I may have done a few times with hairdryers in the past. Basically, I love this hairdryer and I will definitely keep using it and I would definitely recommend it.

I’ve really enjoyed this trial, this styler is a multitasking product that can straighten or curl and has actually worked quite well in my fine and rather short, straight hair. I recently did a trial of a similar product that really was no good for fine here as it didn’t grip tight enough and my hair just kept sliding out but this slightly smaller tool has a good grip so I can straighten quite easily and then I can hold the ends of my hair with the straightener and then curl up the device to add some curl. With my short hair, I’ve been using it to add some texture and add flicks at the end and it’s worked really well. I really like the fact that there are different temperature settings so again with my fine hair I can use a lower temperature and not fry it. There is an air blowing option which blows the hot air out into the hair as you are curling and while it’s not something I’ve really used with my short hair I think it would definitely help when curling longer hair. I like the size of the styler as it’s not too big so it’s easy to hold onto and easy to manage while styling your own hair, sometimes stylers can just be too big and bulky and awkward and you can end up burning yourself while trying to manoeuvre them. I also like the aesthetic with its rose gold and black colour scheme, it looks classy but cute. Overall I’ve been quite impressed with this styler and think that if I had slightly longer hair I would find myself using it far more than I already do.

(Firstly I’m going to add a disclaimer here, I really can’t seperate the shampoo and conditioner as they’re a team so I’m submitting the same review for both products and my comments are inclusive of both products with a few little changes thrown in.) I am loving this trial as I have found my new Holy Grail shampoo and conditioner for my fine hair so thank you to Beauty Heaven and to Bed Head. My hair is relatively short and naturally straight and very fine but it is full of colour and I have greys coming through so it can be hard to find the right balance with products that don’t weigh my hair down but still treat any issues that I have and this shampoo and conditioner from Bed Head is working really well for me as I can go several days between washes whereas with some products I have to wash daily as my hair starts to get lank and oily and weighed down. After washing my hair it is soft and silky and smooth but at the same time it almost feels stronger and less likely to snap, the softness can last a few days for me as I don’t seem to be producing as much oil from my scalp while using these products so I can get away with going a little longer between washes. I find that the conditioner is lightweight and a little goes a long way, my hair feels silky smooth after use but not at all coated with product or heavy. Another huge bonus for me is the smell as I am quite sensitive to scents but this shampoo and conditioner set have what I would consider a fruity smell with maybe the lightest touch of floral, it’s a little sweet but not too strong and overpowering and I just really like it, for comparison I usually use Goldwell dual senses for coloured, fine to medium hair because I absolutely love the smell and it doesn’t weigh my hair down but considering it’s over twice the price I’ll be switching to Bed Head permanently from now on. The price of these products is really reasonable, at around $32 each for 750 mls their price is on par with the better quality supermarket brands and actually cheaper than quite a few. The only negative thing I have to say about these products relates to the packaging, I actually like the look of the product and the colours they’ve used but I would much prefer a pump pack rather than the click open and closed lid because it’s much easier to use in the shower, but that is the only negative I can find with this product.

I’m having a hard time reviewing this product as I have very, fine hair and I can’t say that I’ve seen a noticeable change in the thickness and density of my hair but maybe it just needs a bit more time, it may be a tiny bit thicker but that could just be my imagination so I’m going to sit on the fence at this stage and not say that it’s good or bad but that it needs more time for me. The product itself is easy to use with a dropper for application and it looks a little fancy in the nice, glass bottle. It does seem that we all have differing opinions on the scent which to me is a bit chemically and a bit sort of mentholly (I’m making up words here) but I didn’t mind it and the scent seemed to fade after a while so as someone who is very sensitive to a lot of scents I wasn’t bothered by this one. When applying it feels quite cool and refreshing on the scalp which is lovely in summer but might be not so lovely on winter although I don’t think I’d be bothered by it. Overall this product has potential but I just don’t think it’s had enough time to really do its thing yet so I’ll stick with it and see what happens.

I was quite intrigued to trial the Booty Co Contour Cup along with the Firming Body Lotion as was quite a cool one, but unfortunately I just found it too tricky to use. The product is a silicon cup which you apply to the part of your body that needs drainage by pushing on it to create suction, you need to wet/dampen the cup and apply a lotion or oil, and then you use sweeping or circular motions to stimulate the area of your body that you’re working on. Unfortunately I was having trouble getting enough suction to stick in the places where I wanted to use it the most, mainly the backs of my thighs up to my buttock area, and because you have to push on the cup to create the suction it was really awkward and I had a fair bit of difficulty although it was much easier on the front of my thighs where I could see what I was doing but they’re not the areas that needed the most help. I can definitely see this device helping if you can get it to work on the areas where you need it, and perhaps if you’ve got a partner to do it for you it might work a lot better but for me it was just too tricky so I can’t recommend this product in its current form. I am going to persevere though and see if maybe practice makes perfect. Otherwise I actually think I will use the cup for pressure points on my shoulders when I’m sore because once you’ve got it on it does really create good suction, especially if you can press it on quite hard, so maybe I’ll get use out of the product anyway, just not the way it’s meant to be used.

I received the Impulse Body Mist - Balanced Mind Jade as part of the Glosscars voting trial and unfortunately I haven’t been able to trial it properly as I’m highly intolerant of jasmine and even though the scent of jasmine isn’t particularly strong I can definitely still smell it so I can’t wear it otherwise I end up with a migraine. The actual scent of balanced mind, Jade is pear, jasmine and vanilla and I do think that there is a good balance between the scents and that it probably smells more like pear and vanilla and quite sweet rather than overpowering jasmine so they’ve definitely got a good balance and for someone who can handle jasmine I think it could be a really nice body mist. I do like the look of the bottle, it’s clear plastic with a light green label, so doesn’t have that teeny bopper look that I associate with Impulse from my high school days. Impulse Balanced Mind mist-ic now comes in a simple spray pump and not an aerosol which may be a plus for a lot of users although I would think that the chance of an accidental leak in your bag would be greater with this style rather than the aerosol can. Overall it seems to be a nice product with a pleasant scent but unfortunately it’s not one that I can wear.

I was really excited to trial the Remington, one straight and curl styler because my hair is relatively short, but I have a longer fringe and front section, so I was hoping that I could use the straightener for the shortest sections and curl my longer fringe but unfortunately the styler doesn’t clamp very tightly and because my hair is very fine, it kept sliding out when I was trying to curl it and it really wasn’t working. I also wasn’t a big fan of the way the styler worked as there are plastic covers that slide over the barrel when you’re using it in straightening mode and then when you want to curl you slide them down the barrel and over the handle which activates the curling option but I found it made the handle a little thick and awkward to hold and as I was trying to manoeuvre it quite often the covers were coming unclipped and we’re getting loose. Now for some positive comments, I do like that it is a multitasking tool and perhaps with longer hair and more time to get used to it maybe it would work better for me. I do really like that there are heat settings so someone like myself with fine hair could set it on a cooler temperature than someone who has thick or coarse hair that needs more heat, so that’s definitely a positive. Overall I will give it a few more tries but I’m fairly sure it’s not going to work for my fine hair so I’ll probably end up gifting it to someone that it’s more suited for and I’ll keep looking for something that works for me.

I think that like most reviewers who have used DU’IT products in the past I expected a much thicker, heavier product, even though it’s advertised as a lightweight lotion, but this wasn’t a bad thing and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this product. This lotion comes in a convenient pump pack and a little goes a long way so 300ml at around $16 is relatively economical. Now if you’re looking for fancy packaging and pretty scents then this isn’t the lotion for you, it has a slight almost chemical scent but this fades quickly so you could easily layer a little bit of something over the top, if you feel the need, and whilst the packaging is very utilitarian it is easy to use and the lotion pumps out nice and easily. This lotion spreads very well, thanks to the thinner than expected consistency, so you can get very good all-over coverage and therefore good value for money. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how soft and hydrated my skin feels throughout the day and I’ll be interested to see how it stands up to Autumn wind and drier air but so far so good and I’ll definitely continue using it and most likely repurchase as well.

I was actually very excited to trial the Weleda Skin Food Nourishing Night Cream because I’ve heard so many good things about this product yet never had a chance to try it and I must say that I was not disappointed. Skin Food Night Cream is quite a thick cream but a little goes along way and for me and my utterly confused, combination skin, it’s very moisturising. I’ve only had time to trial it for a few nights but I have found that a couple of hours after application my skin is still feeling very soft and dewy and in the morning my skin feels nice and soft but there doesn’t seem to be any residue, no stickiness or oiliness which is a reaction my skin can have in response to overly heavy products and certain ingredients. I will give fair warning though that this product does have a pretty strong, herbal smell and as someone who is very sensitive to scents I’ve had no issues and I actually find it quite pleasant plus after a short time the smell has completely dissipated. It’s quite possible that this could be a five star product for me but having only a short time to trial it I haven’t been able to see if there’s been any long-term improvement in the hydration of my skin or whether it has caused any issues with clogging or breakouts, but so far so good. It’s definitely a product. I would definitely recommend trying Weleda Skin Food Nourishing Night Cream if you are looking for a night cream that is thick and hydrating and won’t break the bank.
