I was looking for a smooth, rubber type cuticle pusher for nail wraps and this tool caught my eye as it came with a bonus cuticle trimmer on one end. But I discovered that this pusher is more like a cuticle stone. I wish this was clearly stated on the packaging because I had no idea until after I'd opened it. It is like a little piece of pumice. Apparently it is best used with water or cuticle cream to avoid scratching. It is quite effective for taking off cuticle which is attached to your nail, as long as you are careful. The trimmer is quite easy to use and safe - good for those intimidated by nippers. It will catch those bits of cuticle skin sticking up off the nail. So whilst this tool is effective at what it does, it's not really what I was after. I will keep this though and keep looking for a rubber pusher!

I received a tube of this in my recent mini beautorium haul. I had never heard of it before so I was curious to try it. Unfortunately due to sensitive skin I cannot use this on my face (my skin reacts to Rosehip Oil) but I have been trying it as a lip and cuticle treatment. It is quite a thick, viscous oil in a squeezy tube with a thin nozzle. It's packaged really well and it has hardly any scent which is nice. I like to apply generously so this means it is sticky for a time but then it absorbs quite nicely. It is doing a really good job on my cuticles but as a lip treatment I don't think it is all that special. I prefer Lucas Paw Paw balm. I'm going to keep it to try out on minor scars like bug bites. I think it would be great for those! 4 stars from me.

I received this in a mini beautorium package. I had no idea what I was going to receive and was pleasantly surprised to see a Maybelline mascara in there. In my opinion, if there's one thing Maybelline do well, it's mascara. Lash Sensational is one I have not tried so I was very excited to try this one out. First up I'd like to compliment the classy packaging. I like the dusty rose colour of the tube and the shape of it fits securely in my hand. I've now used this several times. The first time I was a bit unsure about the formula as I did experience a minor clump. But since then I've been careful to wipe excess product off the brush and it has not happened again. I really love the curvy brush. I find I can get to most of my lashes in one go, which is such a time saver on busy work mornings. This defines my lashes really well but they stay soft and natural looking too. No crunchy lashes here! I'm blessed with naturally long lashes and I find one coat gives me good definition and a fluttery look. The black is a gorgeous inky black. It wears well for me during the day and I don't experience any smudges. Removal is a breeze. It comes off easily with my usual cleansing routine. I've used some expensive mascaras and I would say this is quite comparable to Chanel Inimitable (aside from the shape of the brush). I'm actually super impressed with Maybelline's efforts here and I will repurchase!

I previously had a terrific buffer from Avon but I can't buy it anymore and have been on the hunt for a replacement. Well this is it! This is not only great value but it does a great job at shaping and buffing nails. I like the block shape of it too - easy to hold in the hands and the foam inside is of an appropriate firmness. I try not to buff too often because it weakens the nails, but when I do, they come up so shiny after using this. Love it. I have just bought a backup!

Thank you to Mitchum and Beauty Heaven for offering me the chance to trial the new Clinical deodorants for men and women. My partner and I are always on the hunt for an effective anti-perspirant and we are already Mitchum fans. It was great to try out their new line. We were very lucky to be sent all 4 fragrances in the range: 2 for women (Powder Fresh and Pure Fresh) and 2 for men (Sport and Clean Control). This is my partner's review. He was applying once every 24 hours, at night only. Did the deodorant provide 48 hour odour protection and 24 hour wetness protection? No, it did not eliminate it...I still noticed some sweating in my business shirts. Did you notice elimination in your body odour caused by sweat and perspiration? Mostly - did a pretty good job overall. How does the Mitchum deodorant compare to your normal deodorant? I typically use the Mitchum roll-on. This new clinical one seemed roughly equivalent in performance. What was the packaging like? I liked it - good control over how much you use. How did the product smell? Very nice, especially the sport one. How did the product feel? Tended to get a bit slimy when I actually did sweat a bit - didn't get absorbed as much as the old one. How easy was it to use? Very easy to use. How did it make you feel? Good - worked pretty well. Overall star rating. 3 out of 5 stars. Not as effective as I thought it would be, especially given the weather is quite cool at the moment.

Thank you to Mitchum and Beauty Heaven for offering me the chance to trial the new Clinical deodorants for men and women. My partner and I are always on the hunt for an effective anti-perspirant and we are already Mitchum fans. It was great to try out their new line. We were very lucky to be sent 4 fragrances in the range: 2 for women (Powder Fresh and Pure Fresh) and 2 for men (Sport and Clean Control). Did the deodorant provide 48 hour odour protection and 24 hour wetness protection? For me this was excellent at controlling odour and only average at controlling wetness when applied at night only. When I applied this way, I found that there were a couple of times the next day when I was a bit damp under the arms. This was disappointing because it is not even summer right now. When I started applying in the morning as well (which the directions say is ok), then this was greatly improved. I was not brave enough to go without for 48 hours! Did you notice elimination in your body odour caused by sweat and perspiration? Definitely. Even when I did perspire with it on, my underarms still smelled fresh and non-offensive. How does the Mitchum deodorant compare to your normal deodorant? I usually use the Mitchum women's aerosol spray and it is quite good but I think the Clinical is better at keeping me dry. What was the packaging like? I liked the packaging. It is slightly translucent so you can see how much you have left - a feature lacking in Dove Clinical. When you first open it, there is a protective sticker over the top mesh area where the product comes out. Peel that away, turn the dial at the bottom (quite a few turns are required the first time), and you will see the cream come through the top and you apply. I figured out that 1-2 clicks (turns) were enough to do my armpits. How did the product smell? I only trialled one of the women's products - the Pure Fresh one in the yellow box. I was pleasantly surprised at the subtle scent. This is very soft, and did not clash with my perfume. I had a sniff of the Powder Fresh one and really liked it also - it is the same as my usual aerosol deodorant. How did the product feel? Great. I loved it a lot more than Dove Clinical. I really appreciated how it dried to a powder finish. It glides on creamy but does not feel tacky or sticky after. How easy was it to use? Super easy. How did it make you feel? Confident! I know that when I am wearing this, I am protected from odour and wetness all day.

I have been using this for a few weeks now but before that was using Rodial's version of Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel. If anyone is curious, I find the two products extremely similar but Skin Physics is less expensive. To start with, a little about my skintype. I'm currently 39 but have pretty good skin. It is classic combination skin with oily t-zone and normal everywhere else. I am an acne sufferer and also have mild rosacea on my nose. I am prone to some dermatitis and redness so I tend to avoid products with too many plant ingredients or oils as I find them irritating. When I first looked into trying a Dragons Blood product, I did some reading and loved what I read about the main ingredient. It is said to be soothing, with anti-inflammatory properties. This is something I look for in a moisturiser these days: calming ingredients. I find that when I apply Skin Physics Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel, my skin is calm, smooth and comfortable. It is not oily or "upset" in any way. The formula is a creme-gel. It is perfect for me to wear under makeup. I do not need any other moisturiser on top but if you are drier, you might. It goes on smoothly and absorbs almost completely within 30 seconds. I find this leaves a very light, protective layer on the skin as described in the product marketing. This sounds weird but really it is not! I don't like my skin to be overly matte (which sometimes happens with gel products), and this leaves skin soft and hydrated. I like this a lot on my face but it is also lovely on the neck and décolletage. This does not break me out. At all. I know this because I use a separate acne treatment product at night which keeps me clear unless another skincare product causes a problem. I can assure the readers with acne that I have had no issues whilst using this. I am super disappointed with the packaging that Skin Physics uses so I have removed a star from my rating. They have opted to package this in a screwtop jar whereas Rodial went for the airless pump. A pump pack is far more sanitary and helps preserve ingredients. For $70, Skin Physics should really package this better. Overall I like this as a morning moisturiser. I have not noticed any major "sculpting" effects but I just love the calming effect that Dragon's Blood has on my skin. The creme-gel is just right for my skin type, offering a good amount of hydration without making me oily. Highly recommended!

Wow I have just tried the shade Think Khaki and it is gorgeous. Goes on easy, it's pigmented and stays put for a work day. The shade is a lovely golden olive green. Really flattering on blue eyes! No need for a sharpener, as these wind up and down. Too easy. I'm going to pick up some of the other colours. I like this more than my usual Rimmel liners and these are less than half the price.

I was worried this would be too rich for my oily t-zone and truthfully, it does make me shiny in summer so I don't use it then. But I really like this in winter when my skin gets dehydrated. It doesn't make me excessively greasy, doesn't cause breakouts and doesn't irritate my mild rosacea. It just hydrates without bothering my skin which is what a good moisturiser should do! A staple for me.

My skin has quite a few problems and this serum is so wonderful!! I'm sensitive and any number of ingredients can flare up my seborrheic dermatitis - some of which I can identify, others I can't. I am fair and prone to redness - I have mild rosacea on my nose. I am also prone to cystic acne on my chin area. I have some signs of ageing appearing - mainly brown sunspots, not too many fine lines or wrinkles. My skin can be oily in the t-zone and I have visible pores. After trying some samples of ANR, I fell in love. Not only does it NOT aggravate any of my skin conditions, it manages to calm and hydrate like nothing else I've tried. I have been using this morning and night for the past few weeks and OK I don't look like the model who advertises it yet. ;-) But what I do see is calm, normalised skin. For me, this is amazing. I am hoping that over time I will see results on my sunspots. I'm applying this morning and night (at night I avoid chin and nose because I use specialised products there). I not only use this on my face but I've also been applying to my neck, chest and also backs of hands when I think of it. At night I layer my Nivea Sensitive Cream over the top (after allowing time for the ANR to absorb) but in the mornings I've been wearing this alone under my makeup and it's brilliant The packaging is good. It's a dark brown plastic bottle with a dropper style lid. I like the "apothecary" style of it. The dropper is excellent, I wish more serums were packaged like this. I do wish the plastic was glass, but that would make it quite heavy. The product itself is this sort of apricot coloured gel which has a bit of a citrus smell. I apply fairly generously and use about 3 drops for my face and another 2 drops for neck and chest. I think the big downside is the cost but I bought a huge bottle at the airport in Singapore (highly recommended to save a bit of cash!) so it will last me a while given that you don't need a lot of product per application. I will definitely continue to use this. Yes it's pricey but I would rather invest in a kick-ass serum and save money on cleanser and creams. Some of you might be interested to know that ANR contains antioxidants which can provide some UV protection. For those who have trouble finding a suitable sunscreen, this could be an alternative for you.
