Nice serum but could be improved. This is the first vitamin c/brightening serum I’ve tried and after using it every morning for about 4 weeks I’ve noticed my face has a flattering glow and the skin has a nice texture about it. This serum uses L-ascorbic acid which is apparently the purest and most effective form of vitamin c. I noticed after about 10 days the serum goes very dark orange (due to oxidisation) and I think this partially contributes to some of the skin’s “glow” (on the days I didn’t wear makeup a yellow residue was left on the cotton pad after cleansing my face). I liked the thick/viscous consistency of it which made my face feel hydrated and it absorbed surprisingly fast without feeling sticky. I did however feel a very slight “prickliness” on my inner left cheek near my nose upon applying but this only lasted a few seconds. While the floral fragrance is pleasant, it does linger. I’m not sure it’s necessary for a product dermatologically tested and targeted to sensitive skin types (especially when there are higher end brands which are fragrance free). Overall, I can see my skin has definitely benefitted after using it and the addition of the salicylic acid in it keeps skin looking clear (with blemishes slightly faded) and feeling smooth. SPF of at least 30 is a must when using this serum during the day.

Surprisingly good and affordable I’ve used this mask a few times since purchasing a mini jar of it. Every time I use it I feel my pores tightened, my face looks and feels smooth and does have a glow to it. This is a multi action mask as the charcoal, clay and volcanic ash tightens and purifies the skin whilst the green tea leaves purifies as well as acts as a gentle exfoliation. Additionally, the inclusion of argan oil helps to remove oil; shea butter helps to soften the skin; aloe vera helps calm irritation; and tea tree and eucalyptus oil are known for their anti bacterial properties (despite these oils the fragrance of the mask is light and fresh). The mask is a mushroom brown colour in the jar and within a minute of applying it, it starts to become quite dry and tight (which I don’t particularly like the feel of) and turns an olive grey colour. After leaving it on for the recommended 5-10 minutes, I wash it off in the shower (it is quite messy), gently rubbing it with my fingers under the water to exfoliate before wiping the rest off with a face towel, revealing a smooth glowing complexion. Overall, this is a surprisingly good mask which doesn’t contain micro beads and which is also affordable.

Upgraded version of the ANR complex ii serum. The colour, smell and consistency of this serum hasn’t changed. The serum itself has a thick consistency but is not oily. It still absorbs immediately into the skin and makes the skin barrier feel smooth, hydrated and a bit plumper. The hydrating feel lasts all day and the serum continues to work well with my current moisturisers with zero irritation. The smell also appears to be the same (it is unscented, but still has a strange cumin-like smell, which disappears upon application). The new formula includes the addition of collagen; protection from environmental pollution; and Chronolux Power Signal Technology to speed up cell repair/turnover, which are great improvements to the already wonderful anti aging serum. After using this for 5 weeks, my skin feels just as good as the complex ii serum and remains more even-toned.

Lightweight but emollient body lotion. I wasn’t sure how I would find Aveeno’s Skin Relief Body Lotion as I wasn’t a fan of the Skin Relief Moisturising Cream (with the menthol), but after trying out a small squeeze tube of this found it to be more appropriate as a daily moisturising lotion. The texture of the lotion is lightweight, the consistency is not too runny and it is fragrance free. The formula of this lotion is not what you would call particularly rich or “nourishing” but it has a light emollience to it which lasts all day. It absorbs really well and fairly quickly, leaving the skin feeling smooth, moisturised and without leaving a greasy or waxy barrier (so you can throw your clothes straight on without waiting for it to absorb). Overall, this is convenient and effective to use as a general all-year-round daily moisturising lotion to soothe and prevent dry skin.

Great for soothing irritation and healing rashes on face/neck. My neck had become extremely itchy, dry, red and irritated after trying out a resurfacing cleanser so mum recommended this to me as it helped relieve a similar reaction she had to a face moisturiser. After using a small pea sized amount twice a day on the area, the dryness and redness/rash has gone and the irritation has completely healed. The thick, white lotion is quite rich, however feels very soothing on itchy, irritated skin, relieving the itch almost instantly. It didn’t leave any residue once absorbed and is fragrance free. Microbiome skincare is quite popular these days and this contains prebiotics to help protect the skin’s barrier.

Sturdy handle and easy detangling I opted for the brush with the handle as I find it easier to use. The handle is sturdy with a good grip and the actual brush detangles hair fairly easily with the short and long bristles. There are no baubles/balls on the ends of the bristles which can come off and get stuck in your hair. I use it daily to detangle my hair in the morning and general brushing but it can also be used on wet hair. It is also really easy to wash. Not sure if it has an effect on reducing frizz and flyaways but it does seem to help minimise breakage.

Great Australian made clay masks with quality native ingredients. This Skin Revival Set is a great introduction to the Minenssey clay masks. Although these masks are a little bit exxy, the quality of clay used in them is great and the masks are non drying and non irritating. In addition, there is a generous amount of product in the pods which hold enough for at least 2 applications. These masks are made from native botanical Australian ingredients and there are 4 different types in the set including Brightening, Rejuvenating, Hydrating and Deep Cleansing; covering a range of skin issues. They feel really luxe on the skin and are a treat to use as a home spa treatment.

Leaves skin feeling clean, smooth and soft. This is the last mask I’ve used in the Minenssey clay mask range. It applied smoothly onto the face and had a creamy consistency however unlike the previous masks, I noticed a tightening feel on the skin, although this did not feel drying in any way. I also experienced a slight stinging (on my cheeks, near my nose) but this went away after a few minutes. After cleansing my face, I kept it on for the recommended maximum time of 20 minutes before washing it off in the shower and there didn’t seem to be any added irritation. Afterwards, my face felt clean, smooth and soft. This is a green clay mask that is a light olive “greige” colour with a subtle but pleasant native lemon myrtle type of scent. Like the other masks in the range, there was a generous amount of product in the pod for more than one application. Overall, this was a great natural, non irritating deep cleansing mask to detoxify the skin of impurities.

Softening, gentle, non-irritating. This gentle whitish/opaque face wash is effective at cleansing the face of makeup remnants/dirt and I have been using it as my daily face wash for the past few months. It is non irritating and although it is “fragrance free”, to me it has a strong “new car” kind of scent. The consistency is a bit runnier than a gel and easy to work into a lather. I find it does have a softening effect on the skin. Although it matches the skin’s optimal pH level of 5.5, I do find it slightly drying (though doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight). I consider this to be a good thing however as the skin efficiently absorbs any serums, oils and moisturisers that you may use afterwards. It is soap free and specially formulated to minimise irritation.
