My first impression from the beige colour of the packaging is that it looks more like corrective makeup, like concealer, which can be confusing for the consumer. I'm guessing that the Maybelline peeps working at developing the product line thought it'd be great to use peach as the signature colour for their new line. So, on to the product. I'm reviewing the Dark Brown shade. It's a twist-and-use pencil, which is a plus if you don't like grappling with a sharpener. There's a cute little bumble-bee shaped bristle brush at the end to help shape your brows. The lead itself is square, which I can't figure out why in terms usefulness. Perhaps it just looks good that way. It's a hard consistency, which is good cos soft pencils impart too much product and can make your brows look like they've been laminated. The hardness allows more control over the depth of colour during application. However, the lead for this is waaay too thick. It's hard to get a precise brow look especially on the tail end on your brows. I prefer to draw individual strokes to mimic brow hairs, rather than a general wash of colour. My first thoughts were that the packaging was so pretty, like looking at grown-up candy. The colours were gorgeous with the shimmery shades of peach, gold, browns & charcoal. I couldn't wait to try it. It looked irresistible with its wavy embossed pattern. But that's the good part. The truth is, it's not as pigmented enough to impart sufficient colour. The application revealed that the pretty colours on the palette did not translate to equal prettiness on the eyes. The colours were disappointingly faint. Another minus is that it was not long-wearing. At the end of the day, I couldn't see any eye shadow on my lids, and the rest of the product collected in the creases. All the careful work of preparing my lids with primer etc had evaporated. So, if you're next in the shopping aisle and you see this really tempting package of lovely shimmery eyeshadow, please walk on. Save your money for something better. My first impression of the packaging was that it looked like concealer because of the beige colour, so that was slightly confusing to me. The matte finish of the casing felt nice & luxurious though. But on to the actual product... I'm not a fan. When I pulled out the wand, I saw a thick, gooey clump of product and had to scrape it off on the lip before I started using it. The big bristles were also unsuitable for my short lashes, making application difficult. I then applied it, and found that it left clumpy bits on my lashes - the smooth formulation that the product write-up promised did not eventuate. Instead, I looked like I had dead spiders on my eyes. I looked like Tammy Faye Bakker. On the plus side, it wore well through the day and didn't smudge, as some other mascaras can do. It also was easily removed with micellar water. But other than that, I wouldn't recommend it. Brand Response: Dear pinglet, sorry to hear that you’ve had this experience with Total Temptation Mascara. This is such a handy little product! The bottle is a convenient size that you can slip into your bag or purse, which is great for 'emergency' touch-ups, should that errant grey strand ever jump out (don't you just hate when that happens). I used it along the hairline at my forehead, but being a first-time user, I got some of the product onto my skin, so I wiped it off, which was easily done. The colour stayed put until my next shampoo, and it didn’t transfer onto my clothes. The nozzle is actually quite precise , so it's really quite easy to apply. It's something I would definitely incorporate into my beauty routine between colouring. For many time-poor peeps, this a godsend. The whole process of colouring just takes up so much time & is such a hassle. As for picking out the right shade to match your hair colour, I can see it being a little tricky for some, but mine's black, so it was easy-peasy for me.

First off, I’m not a fan of the jar packaging – it’s not terribly hygienic and I’d give it more points if it had a pump dispenser or a little spatula. As an anti-aging product, it should be in an airtight container as the ingredients lose their potency once exposed. It’s also tested on animals, so major minus points for that too What I like about it: the formula is pretty light and absorbs quickly into the skin. It also has no perceptible fragrance, which is great because I quite dislike products which are heavily perfumed claims that the peach tint of this eye cream features In truth, the tint sheers out so imperceptibly that you would be hard-pressed to see any "correcting" for dark circles It has a peach tint which makes it look like foundation, which Olay claims is "color-correcting technology" to help brighten the eye area and correct dark circles. Great in theory, but in reality, you’d have to pile it on pretty thick to notice any visible difference, in which case you’d be left with a greasy oil-slick around your eyes So, ultimately not the ultimate eye cream

Thanks again, bh, for including me in this trial team! I’ll get straight into the review. The product has a lovely thick consistency and a fruity fragrance, which I like. It comes in an easy-to-use squeezy bottle with a flat flip-top lid, which means that I can stand it on its lid, allowing the last bit of product to flow to the tip. Unfortunately, it has sulfates. Sulfates are the cheapest way to get a large amount of lather, but they can also strip the hair of moisture, so I generally avoid products that have them. People equate piles of lather to a good clean, but larger amounts of lather actually excessively strip, dry and corrode the surface of hair and skin. Having said that, my hair actually looked pretty good after a couple of washes with Pantene. It was starting to look a bit dull before, and perhaps the simple fact of changing conditioners did my hair some good. So my verdict? Good value for a surprisingly good product. Just wish it was sulfate-free :)

Thank you, beautyheaven for having me on this trial. One of the things I was supposed to do was to use the wrinkle ruler. However, I must've tossed it out with the packaging before receiving the instructions about using the ruler, cos I don't recall seeing it. Anyhow, on to the product. It comes in a jar, which isn't my favorite type of packaging due to hygiene reasons. The cream feels thick, but quickly absorbs into the skin, imparting a slight sheen. My dry skin loves the hydrating feeling it gets from this cream, so thumbs up here. However, I found the fragrance a little strong, kinda reminding me of the creams my mum used to slather on her face. Other reviewers seem to not mind the fragrance, so perhaps I'm the only one with a sensitive nose. A good day cream with SPF.

Thank you, Beauty Heaven for including me in this trial. I’d been seeing the word ‘hyaluronic’ tossed about in the beauty forums lately, so I was really chuffed that I’d been selected to trial these products. Hyaluronic acid sounded like a miracle technology, and being well into my forties, its ability to hydrate skin & improve its texture made it sound like a dream-come-true. So let’s get into it. The plus points: The product comes in a heavy glass jar, which gives it a luxurious feel, and the product feels rich, but absorbs quickly, and it has a pleasant fragrance. Plus, my skin looked & felt pretty decent after. A little seemed to go a long way, so this moisturizer would last me a while, making it good value-for-money. What's not so great: I prefer lotions that come in a pump because of hygiene purposes. And if I dropped the glass jar on my foot, it’d probably hurt. The likelihood of this happening is high with me - greasy hands & heavy glass jars = accidents. Also, the biggest drawback was the flaky residue I encountered when I applied my makeup. As I dabbed on my foundation & concealer, flaky bits of skin resembling eraser rubbings started pilling on my face. Thinking that I hadn't exfoliated sufficiently, I removed all my makeup, scrubbed my skin clean, and started all over with the Revitalift serum & day cream. But again, the same problem. When I hit the forums, I discovered that products containing silicone could possibly result in the issues of flakiness, so unfortunately, this cream gets a reluctant thumbs down from me. Brand Response: We are very sorry to hear about your experience with your L’Oreal Paris product and that it is not suitable for your skin type. We would love the opportunity to talk to you directly about this so we welcome you to contact our product experts for any further information or advice we can offer you including ingredients related queries. You can contact them on 1300 659 359 at your convenience. Thanks.

Hyaluronic acid sounded like a miracle technology, and being well into my forties, its ability to hydrate skin & improve its texture made it sound like a dream-come-true. So let’s get into it. The plus points: I love the cool, space-agey packaging that looks and operates like a syringe. It pumps out a small bead of the serum (hygienic - tick), and the product smells pleasant & absorbs quickly (tick, tick). Plus, my skin looked & felt pretty decent after. What's not so great: The amount dispensed by the measured pump isn't enough to cover my entire face, so I find that I'm working the pump to get the desired amount of product. This makes me think that there is only enough serum in the slim tube to last a month, maybe? Also, the biggest drawback was the flaky residue I encountered when I applied my makeup.
