The Kérastase Paris Genesis Anti-Breakage Fortifying Hair Serum is an intensive daily treatment serum designed to strengthen hair, repair damage, and prevent hair fall due to breakage. The product is not cheap, but a little goes a long way. The formula is oil-free, so it doesn't weigh down your hair. I use this in combination with the matching shampoo and conditioner, and I was able to see a noticeable difference after four weeks. I apply the serum directly to the scalp after washing my hair, then rub the excess through the ends. The glass bottle is slightly precarious to handle with wet hands, so I recommend placing it on a flat surface and using the pipette to apply.

If you’re on the hunt for an eye cream that goes beyond just your under-eye area, the AHC Essential Real Eye Cream for Face is a versatile product for the eyes and the whole face. Described as an all-in-one moisturiser that increases collagen production through a complex of twelve peptides designed to create bouncier-looking skin, patented vegetable proteins to firm the appearance of skin, and an exclusive Microsome Technology that assists the product to absorb into the skin with peptides and vitamins. The formula is lightweight, yet concentrated and absorbs quickly into the skin. I found the product to be good, but not brilliant, although the price is reasonable and a little bit goes a long way. Overall, it's a decent product, although I didn't see any remarkable differences after using it, it's more of a handy and convenient two-in-one.

I've long been a fan of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream in all of its variants, and after a summer where my skin has felt extra dry, I gave this a go in the hopes of gaining some much-needed moisture. The product is more of a balm than a cream, it's super-rich but absorbs fairly quickly. I found there was some residual stickiness which improved when I applied it using a less is more technique. The product smells divine, with a soothing and relaxing lavender fragrance. I applied the cream at bedtime and woke up to plump, dewy skin in the morning. I think the product may be a little heavy for humid summer nights as it creates a layer over the skin, but would be ideal for wind-chapped winter skin when I will be sure to reach for it again.

I enjoyed the trial of the GROW Longer Stronger Exfoliating Scalp Rinse. The packaging was understated and subtle and the instructions for use were fairly straightforward. I followed the directions and the product dispensed quite easily onto the massaging teeth. The product was a clear gel that smelled very clean, fresh, and slightly minty. I did find the application process to be a little challenging at times, especially when my hands were wet as the tube became quite slippery and hard to hold onto. Once I applied the required amount of product onto my hair I used the massaging top to gently work it into my scalp. The product felt slightly cool and quite refreshing on my scalp with the slightest tingling sensation, I could almost the product going to work at removing the residue on my scalp. After leaving the product on my hair for the recommended amount of time, I rinsed it off with warm water and found that not only did my scalp feel cleaner and with less residual product build-up, my hair also felt softer. I would definitely use this product in the future

This light but intensely moisturising oil has a delicious almond fragrance and leaves skin with a deluxe satiny-smooth finish. Applied in the morning after showering I found my skin was still silky soft and hydrated by the end of the day. The only thing I dislike about the product is that it comes in a glass bottle, once the oil gets on your hands the bottle becomes slippery and easy to drop.

A divine, indulgent oil to foam body cleanser. Light but lush almond fragrance that leaves skin delicately scented, silky soft and deeply hydrated. When applied to wet skin the oil transforms into a light foam, extremely gentle and suitable for even the most sensitive skin. After only a week of use my skin felt transformed and dry, scaly patches had disappeared. Along with the shea butter soap, Lóccitane is now my shower ritual.

I have used the same brand of home hair colourant for several years now and was pleasantly surprised just how well the Revlon Coloursilk worked on my hair. I generally end up with at least a little brittleness or dryness after colouring but this wasn't the case with Coloursilk, my hair actually felt in better condition after colouring. I selected the shade Burgundy as it was the closest available to my current hair colour, I found that there were only two shades in the range suited to me so I feel a wider variety of shades would be good in the future. Before colouring my hair I the performed a patch test as normal on the nape of my neck, 24 hours prior to colouring and I didn't experience any reaction so felt confident to use the colour on my scalp. The colourant came in a tube of cream and a bottle of lotion, you add the cream to the lotion and shake to mix the two products together. I then put the gloves on that were provided in the box and applied the colour to the entirety of my hair (roots to tips). I left the colour on for the recommended time as indicated in the enclosed instructions, I then rinsed, shampooed once and applied the conditioner that came with the colourant. The colourant itself was less chemically fragranced than my regular colour which was nice, it had a light floral fragrance with only a hint of chemical scent. I think the ammonia-free formulation made the colourant smell far less potent than others I have used in the past. I didn't, however, like the fragrance of the conditioner provided, it smelt like horrible old toilet air freshener and I actually found it quite unpleasant to use. After rinsing the colourfrom my hair and applying the conditioner I found that my hair felt far better than when I normally colour it, it felt more conditioned and far less dry and brittle and I actually feel that it was even in better condition than before using the Coloursilk product. My hair was left evenly-coloured, shiny, and felt soft and well-conditioned. I have washed my hair three times since colouring and the resulting colour is still vibrant and fresh-looking. I would definitely use this colour again in the future as well as recommend it to my friends. A wider variety of shades would be a plus as well as a more pleasant conditioning agent for after-colouring but all in all it is a great, value for money, home hair colourant.

My skin tends to be quite oily in the T-zone area and slightly dehydrated everywhere else so finding a primer that is suitable for my skin can be quite tricky. The L'oreal Paris Mattifying Base gave me a smooth and even finish when worn under foundation and kept shine and oiliness at bay all day long . The product comes in a matching tube to the Infallible 24hr Matte foundation. The consistency is a thicker consistency, clear gel which applies smoothly and evenly over skin. Only a small amount of product (pea-sized) is required to cover the entire face and works nicely to blur pores, fine lines and uneven texture and allows foundation to glide effortlessly over the top. There was no detectable fragrance to the gel and the finish provided was light and mattifying. Used underneath the Infallible 24hrMatte foundation this primer helped the foundation apply much more smoothly and evenly than when the foundation was applied alone. It also provided a longer-lasting result and kept shine and oiliness away for a few hours more. The downside was that the final finish was slightly heavy and a little cakey, especially on drier areas of the skin. When used with a lighter finish foundation I found the end result was much more pleasant, smooth, shine-free and soft to touch.

I was incredibly excited to try the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation as over the last few months my skin has become far more oily than usual and I found most of my foundations just weren't lasting as long or keeping my skin shine-free. The Infallible Matte foundation is advertised as being waterproof, sweat-proof and steam-proof with a 24 hour coverage. The foundation is a lightweight, liquid formulation packaged in a slim, squeezable plastic tube, not the most stylish or glamorous packaging but the product is easily dispensed. The consistency is soft and creamy with a delicate but slightly chemical fragrance. I applied the foundation using a brush, sponge and my fingers and found the best application was with the sponge, it blends nicely and leaves a matte, satin-like finish. The coverage is medium-high and conceals minor flaws and blemishes nicely and I found that dotting a small amount on more troublesome blemishes with a fingertip covered them well. The shade range is only 7 colours so not all skin tones may find a suitable match. Having a fair complexion the lightest shade 11 vanilla suited my colouring fairly well being neither too pink nor yellow. Once applied the foundation felt fairly light on my skin and didn't clog my pores or cause annoying breakouts like many long-wearing foundations do. I only needed to use a small pea-sized amount to cover both my face and neck adequately. The formula feels nice and lightweight on the skin and gave a nice matte, long-lasting finish but definitely didn't last 24 hours as advertised, I experienced light to moderate oiliness and shine in my t-zone after 4 or 5 hours and it began to rub off a bit in these areas. On the dryer areas of my skin it lasted a lot longer but I found that the coverage did wear a little bit and needed a slight touch up by the end of day. When used with the L'oreal Infallible Priming Base the finish lasted a few hours longer but felt a lot heavier and looked a little cakier than when worn alone. Overall this foundation gave a nice, even, matte finish and lasted longer than regular foundations. The oil-absorbing properties were quite good and the finish was a lightweight matte without looking or feeling too heavy.

Having suffered for many years from dry and very sensitive skin on my body I have tried many, many body lotions in the search for a deeply hydrating, yet non-irritating product that would soothe as well as effectively moisturise my skin. I really struggled to find one that didn't cause irritation, redness and stinging, particularly after shaving. Even many of the products designed for sensitive skins still left my skin itchy and red or didn't moisturise effectively. The Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion ticked all the right boxes for me and has been a blessing on my winter-ravaged skin. What I really liked about this lotion is that it contains many natural ingredients including a triple oat complex as well as essential vitamins and antioxidants to help strengthen and repair skin, it's also fragrance free so no nasty artificial fragrances to irritate my skin like other lotions have. The lotion although quite thick applied smoothly and absorbed very quickly leaving no greasy or tacky feeling afterwards. After applying this lotion daily after showering, within just one week my skin was noticeably softer, smoother and felt well-moisturised. I had a significant reduction in the dry, flaky patches and no post-shave stinging! I would definitely re-purchase this lotion as the 24 hour formula means I only have to apply it once a day and just a little goes a long way, making it great value for money.
