I received the Bond Plex range from Beauty Heaven as part of the trial team (Thanks BH!) I’ve used a couple of other plex brands before so I’m not new to plex hair treatments and this set my expectations as fairly high. I used the #3 Bond Restore Treatment on damp hair to start with. The first thing that struck me was the fragrance, it is absolutely divine. By far the best fragrance out of any plex products I have ever used before. I left this on my hair for about 15-20 mins before moving on to the shampoo. The shampoo lathers up really well and when rinsed, left my hair feel soft and moisturised. Definitely a good indiction that this is a quality product. The conditioner distributes easily and left my hair soft and smells amazing. I have never use a plex styling product before, so the Bond Restore styling cream was a first for me. Overall, my hair was less frizzy but the softness didn’t last long and my hair was still quite dull. That being said, my hair is quite damaged and I do think Bond Plex is a great range that I am eager to continue using.

I received the NS 8 Heel Balm Complex as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. I think this is a great product to for maintaining your feet in between pedicures or if you are more of a DIY type of beauty, it’s great to use in between foot peels or scrubs. I’m more of a DIY girl myself but I do make an effort to stay on top of my foot care routine so I don’t have dry, cracked heels but that doesn’t mean I don’t benefit from using this product. As they say, prevention is always better than a cure. This is a great foot cream if you are not into thick, heavy creams. It is easily absorbed into the skin and it doesn’t make your feet feel greasy or slick. The cream has a really pleasant fragrance that isn’t too overwhelming and it leaves your feet feeling soft and moisturised. I noticed that the more I used it, the softer my feet felt, which means I won’t have to do my scrubs and peels as frequently. I will definitely continue using this product.

I received the Burt’s Bees Lip Shine in the ‘Pucker’ shade as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. The Bert’s Bees lip shine comes in an easy to apply tube. Since lip products go right under the nose, I find that the fragrance is a really important factor to consider. This lip shine has a pleasant, subtle berry fragrance that I really love. The lip shine goes on easily and feels great on. It’s very smooth with no tacky or sticky feeling. This is not an overly shiny lipgloss which is good if you are going for a more subtle look. It has a light tint which makes it great to wear over nude lips as well as over the top of lipstick to add some shine without overpowering the colour of the lipstick. The lip shine made my lips feel moisturised and soft, it also has a really pleasant taste. I would definitely purchase this product in the future.

I received the Nude by Nature Natural Setting Spray as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. I’m really not sure how I feel about this product. I have used setting sprays in the past but never really liked the results as much as the results I get with finishing powders. As I have combination skin and finding foundation to suit my skin isn’t always easy, using a finishing product is very important to ensure my foundation stays in place. I used this setting spray with my usual primer and foundation and with the Nude by Nature primer and my foundation. The setting spray worked slightly better with the first combination but I didn’t find that it held everything in place as much as I would like it to. I think this may work better with more a compatible primer and foundation and I am definitely open to giving it another go in the future.

I received the Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer as part of the Natural Beauty Month trial box And I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive to trial this primer as I haven’t heard many positive things about some of Nude by Nature’s other primers. This primer has definitely changed my opinion. The texture of this primer is quite thick but it is easily applied, feels quite light, offering great coverage without feeling like it is caked on. This primer smooths over pores and fine lines leaving an even complexion ready for foundation. Unfortunately, the foundation I am currently using did not seem to blend well with the primer at first so I had to mix the foundation with a bit of primer until it was well blended in order to get a good application. The end result was ok but I am eager to try the primer with a different foundation to see if I can get a better result.

I received the Essano advanced brightening Vitamin C serum in the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. I was a bit disappointed to discover that the Vitamin C serum has a pretty distinct citrus fragrance. Personally I love citrus scents for around the house but I don’t feel the same way about using citrus products on my face. I often find that citrus is a bit too irritating on certain parts of my face, particularly near my mouth where I get especially dry skin. I really wish natural skincare companies would steer away from using citrus oils in vitamin c products when there are much less irritating fruits, like strawberries, that have a higher vitamin c content and smell really great too. Since I had been using a brightening serum prior to this trial and I had to be very careful about where I applied this product, I can’t say I have noticed any significant changes. I won’t continue using this product as it does not suit my skin type but those who do like skincare products with citrus should definitely give it a go!

I received the Grow Thicker Fuller Thickening Treatment as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. Over the past few years I have been struggling with thinning hair so I was very eager to start testing out this product. The Grow Thickening Treatment comes in a bottle with a pump to make it easy to apply to the scalp. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that, compared to other scalp treatments I have used in the past, this product was more easily absorbed and didn’t leave my scalp feeling anywhere near as oily as I have previously experienced. I am unable to say how effective this treatment is. I have only been using it for two weeks and since it needs to be applied to wet hair and I only wash my hair every second or third day, I haven’t noticed any changes yet. I do really like that this product is not as oily as others, so I will continue to use this product and fingers crossed I see some amazing results!

I received the Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil in the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. The Retinol Booster Oil has a great fragrance which makes it very pleasant to use. This oil can be used alone or mixed in with your usual moisturiser, which I think is a great idea. When used alone, I found the booster oil left my skin feeling a a bit greasy. However when I mixed it in with my moisturiser, the oil seemed to absorb much more easily and my skin felt less oily than it did compared to when I applied the oil alone prior to my moisturiser. I wouldn’t recommend this product for anyone with combination or oily skin. As I was already using a retinol product prior to this trial, it is difficult to gauge how effective the Booster Oil is. My skin has been breaking out after I switched products however since I only had two weeks to test the product, it’s difficult to say whether or not the break outs are caused by my skin purging or the product itself.

I received the Dermal Therapy Sensitive Skin Lotion as part of Beauty Heaven’s Natural Beauty Month Box. This lotion is absolutely perfect to use as a body moisturiser and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is prone to eczema. As someone who has suffered with eczema since childhood, I often find certain body moisturisers can cause a lot of irritation to my skin, especially on the palm of my hands, which is where I break out in eczema more often then anywhere else over recent years. Since it is near impossible to apply body moisturiser without using the palm of your hands, using any kind of body cream that is highly scented or heavy is a pretty unpleasant experience. I found that the Dermal Therapy Lotion was not only really light, absorbs easily and thanks to the zero fragrance, it has caused absolutely no further irritation to the very stubborn patch of eczema currently on the palm of my hand.

I have a very strong fondness for prickly pear, so it is no surprise that out of all the products that were included in this years natural beauty month box, the Weleda 24h hydrating facial cream is my absolute favourite. I have combination skin that can get really dried out in winter, especially around my mouth. I try to avoid using facial creams that are too heavy as my nose can get very oily if I don’t. I found the Weleda facial cream to be absolutely perfect for settling down the extremely dried out patches of skin without causing my T-Zone to become excessively oily. The cream is easily absorbed into the skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated, without any oiliness. The scent of this cream is amazing. If you are in the market for a new moisturiser and like me you are especially sensitive to certain scents (rosehip drives me absolutely insane), you may find that the subtle scent the Weleda facial cream to be exactly what you are looking for.
