I bought this to use after having hot oil splatter on my hand during a cooking mishap. I couldn't apply until the blisters have healed which was about 4-5 days after the incident as it gave me a stinging sensation due to my broken skin with the vitamin-c (ascorbic acid) ingredient(but i did use other cooling products in the mean time). After that I was able to use the treatment gel without issues. It comes with a special shaped applicator to give precise dose dispensing from the tube so you don't waste the product. It applies very smoothly and is easily absorbed into the skin without any greasy feelings and I didn't detect any scent in this product at all. After 3 days of application, I can see that my blistered burn scar is healing very well, the darkened skin of the burn area has lightened and the new skin seem to be growing nice and smooth despite the blistered area. It has definitely helped to prevent the formation of a raised scar in this area, which was my biggest fear and I will continue to use it for a few more weeks to help my new skin heal better. Overall, I'm happy with the effectiveness of this product and would repurchase again to use on healing skin to prevent scars formations.

I've been lamenting the loss of my hair straightening since it refused to heat up when turned on earlier this year. So I was thrilled to be able to trial the new Remington One Straight and Curl styler. I was instantly beholden to the multifunctional design, with sliding curling covers on it you want to use it for hair straightening or take the covers off for curling mode to be activated. It even comes with a sliding lock to holder the plates barrel down and in place when not in use! I really like this 2-in-1 styler that makes both straightening hair and creating waves and curls so simple and easy. The heating plates are slightly longer than standard (my old) straightener, meaning that it was easier to manoeuvre when passing hair through so that I could more easily get define curls or dead straight hair on my thick slightly textured hair, without too much practice at all. I found it really easy to create curls with the curling mode on, allowing me me to achieve something that I wouldn't have been able to with a traditional straightening wand as I was never able to hold the styler at an angle while passing my hair through the plates that gave good curl definition. The curved barrel with the curl covers off make it failproof for me. The best thing was the curls lasted for 6 hours afterwards and didn't droop as I was able to use the right heat setting to help creating the lasting curl. On the heat settings, I appreciated the ability to control the heating plates temperature visually with heat setting controls from 150 degree to 230 degree going in 20degree increments to allow for different hair types and to reduce the amount of heat stress when when using the styler on a regular basis. The styler came with a black styling glove and a velvet like material pouch for storage that also acts as a heat mat on the other side for placing the device down in between each styling pass. All these features and additions are thoughtful touches that make the styler a complete product without needing to make additional accessory purchases. The only minor downside with this styler for me was the shorter cord length being about 2m long rather than the 3m that I'm use to allow for further reach from a power outlet. However, this is more than made up for with the 3 years product warranty. I have peace of mind that if this product fails, I'll be able to make a warranty claim, unlike, my previous straightener which only had 12 months warranty and failed shortly after with a limited use.

These days, with storage space being a premium, I love multi-functional gadgets that are practical and space saving and this Total body multi groomer tick all those boxes. Equipped with 4 different main heads for different uses, this groomer can cut hair, shave beards and moustaches, trim eyebrows, hair around the nose and ears as well as the body. I enlisted the help of hubby to help me trial this device as I didn't have facial hair to remove and wasn't looking at getting my hair cut this month. The facial shaver unit was something that impressed my hubby as he was able to get a good close shave in the shower (it's IP67 so completely waterproof) and even though it doesn't beat a hand razor when it comes to giving a smooth silky clean shaven finish, he did not experience any prickly sensations when running his hand across his face like he normally does with other electric facial shavers. He said this is was something he would bring with him on travel as it is convenient, easy to take and isn't likely to cut himself with, unlike a razor. He also like the ear and nose trimmer as it mean he could groom himself all in one go in the shower with the easy changeover of the attachment head. We also gave the hair cutting main attachment a quick try to trim the sides of his hair and it worked really well but I may need to practice a few more times to build up my technique and confidence of cutting hair and achieve an even look on both sides. The fact that the device is rechargeable by USB C means we could reuse our existing phone charger to charge the groomer, reducing the need for yet more cables to charge a specific device in the home. Charging itself was a breeze and the battery fully powered up within 60 minutes of charging, full when 3 indicator lights are on on the device body. Overall, we are very impressed that the Remington One multi groomer device worked so well with its different attachments and it will definitely get good use from hubby that's for sure. He loves it even more as it has it's own zip up pouch to store away all the different attachments and keep in one handy location.

My old hair dryer is a VS Sassoon one with Ionic technology which I love a lot as it is able to dry my thick medium length hair quite quickly without causing too much frizz for my flyaway. So when recently tried the Remington ONE Dry & Style Hairdryer, I was abit sceptical but am really happy to report that it gives even better results. With 2 fan speeds and 3 heat settings, you get a total of 7 different styling settings including the cool air setting that can be used to set you hair. The dryer feels weighty but not too heavy and is comfortable to hold during use. The heat settings mean I am able to blast my wet hair at the highest speed and heat settings before lowering it as my hair dries and I begin to brush out as it dries. It comes with 4 diffuser attachments and I find that the flyaway tamer attachment is an absolute game changer in terms of getting my hair to look super straight and neat without too much styling effort at all. I also appreciate that the attachments are locked in well with the dryer nozzle and don't fall off when the attachment heats up and expands which is what my VS Sassoon dryer did. With the dryer and the attachment, I can dry my hair and achieve the perfect salon blow wave straight smooth hair look at home without any additional tools or skills within 12 minutes. My hair looks effortlessly shiny and smooth and is soft to touch. Do watch out for the air outlet at the back though, as it is quite large in size to bring in a higher amount of air, if not careful during styling, you can get your hair sucked into and tangled by it, which happened to me when I first used the dyer and wasn't quite used to the holding position but I've not not had any problems since I've become more familiar with using it. I like that the dryer also comes with a soft fabric storage pouch to store away in, as well as equip with a hanging hoop at the base of the handle for those that like to hang up their styling tools after use. My only complaint with this great hair dryer is that the cord length of the dryer is a bit short at 2m long. All my other hair styling tools have 3m cords as it gives me more flexibility if my power outlet is far from my mirror or vanity and I don't need to grab the extension cord to use the dryer.

My skin type is typically “normal” on my face and body but when I use skincare with actives such as AHAs or retinol, my skin can be quite break out and become quite sensitive and flaky and is often prone to dry patches. I would try to prevent the dryness by using an emollient moisturiser or balm either on top of my actives skincare of on alternate nights to try and sooth my skin. So when I was recently offer to trial the Cicaplasst Buame B5+, I was beyond excited as it sounds like the perfect product to incorporate into my routine with us use of active skincare. The product comes in a relatively small 40ml tube packaging and the actual product itself is more like a cream than a balm in texture, which was a surprise to me. When applying onto skin, it doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, which was what I was expecting given it is meant to be a soothing repairing balm. It is scentless and rubs and absorbs into skin quite well and leaves a smooth velvety touch to the skin surface after. It is non irritating to sensitive skin, in fact, it actually did a great job calming irritations, is non-stinging and does a decent job at reducing redness on my skin. I find that it helps with the healing of skin breakouts and broken skin slightly quicker than without using it, and whilst this repair balm calms and soothe, it doesn’t moisturise my parched skin enough and I have to layer with a moisturiser first before applying the balm to seal in the products for my skin to really feel supple and smooth again in a couple of day’s time. From my 1.5 weeks of using the product, it appears that it works by locking in and prevents moisture loss rather than adding moisture to your skin. I’ve tried the repair balm on my elbows which were as rough as sandpaper after showering at night and within a week of daily use on its own, my elbows are back to being the normal texture again. I’ve also tried for my thick rough callused heel and it appears to help prevent new cracking and peeling skin which has been a great result as I have found few products to be effective in keeping my heels from cracking thickening up. For the price, I think this is a good product to have to help with sealing in moisture without a sticky or tacky feeling you usually get with true “balm” products. Rather than a stand-alone product, I feel It is more of an add-on product that I woud use to help increase my skin hydration levels by using it to help ‘lock in’ hydration provided by other moisturisers.

This is my favourite product out of the line of Dove hair nourishing moisture hair care products that I’ve been trailing for the past 2 weeks. It is an intensive serum conditioner that adds the much-needed moisture back into my hair without weighing it down or leaving any product residue build up. I really enjoyed the light coconut scent of the Dove nourishing moisture haircare product line as it didn’t overpower like many other coconut scents do. I use the serum conditioner on top of the nourishing moisture conditioner as I find that the effects are better and my hair is softer and smoother than just using the normal conditioner on its own. It is not too goopy or heavy during application so spreads easily to coat the strands of hair, particularly the ends of my hair where it’s driest and often have breakages. In the 2 weeks of use, I find it has prevented new split ends of occurring which has helped my hair look so much smoother at the ends and given much healthier looking hair. It is also great in reducing hair fizziness so this is my new favourite go to conditioner for helping my manage my dry and split end prone hair.

I wash my hair twice to 3 times a week and have really enjoyed the light coconut scent of the Dove nourishing moisture haircare product line as it didn’t overpower like many other coconut scents do. I have dry hair and often an itchy scalp and using this Dove nourishing moisture conditioner along with the shampoo has helped to sooth my itchy skin in the past 2 weeks. With use after shampooing and couple with the conditioner and the 3 in 1 serum (which is an intensive hair hydrating crème), my hair feels soft and my scalp feels cleaner, less dry and takes longer for the itchiness to recur. My hair regains its volume after the wash but isn’t frizzy and I have less flyaways, making styling so much easier. As for hair softness and smoothness, I didn’t really notice a significant difference from other products I’ve been using for my dry hair so I would say it is on par with other conditioners for dry hair, but with the benefit of it not being heavy or residue laden. The effects are more pronounces for softness and silky hair when used with the 3-in-1 serum.

I’ve had dry scalp and hair for as long as I remember and using this Dove nourishing moisture shampoo has helped to sooth my itchy skin in the past 2 weeks. I wash my hair twice to 3 times a week and have really enjoyed the light coconut scent of the product line that didn’t overpower like many other coconut scents do. The shampoo felt lightweight to use and when rinsed out afterward, my hair didn’t feel weighed down with product residues or that slick silicone feel to help increase hair smoothness. Couple with the conditioner and the 3 in 1 serum (which is an intensive hair hydrating crème), my scalp feels cleaner, less dry and takes longer for the itchiness to recur. My hair has volume after the wash but isn’t too frizzy and I have less flyaways, making styling so much easier. I haven’t used the product long enough to notice whether it would help to rebuild hair strength so that I would have fewer breakages or hair fallout at this stage but am hoping that there are fewer hair loss. As for hair softness and smoothness, I didn’t really notice a significant difference from other products I’ve been using for my dry hair so I would say it is on par with other shampoo for dry hair, but with the benefit of it not being heavy or residue laden.

I had the opportunity to try out the new La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Lutra repair serum recently and I have really loved adding it to my skincare routine. It is absolutely amazing for highly sensitive, aggravated skin that needs a lot of gentle soothing TLC with its 10% vitamin B5 that helps to protect and repair compromised skin.  The product itself is a very fluid, slightly vicious milky liquid that is dispensed from a glass bottle with a pipette dropper. It has a silky texture during application and it absorbs almost immediately into skin, leaving no traces of it being applied once the product dries. I've found it fabulous for to use on superficial burns to soothe and calm skin from a cooking accident (oil splatter) on my hand and for the two times when I had a bout of urticaria on my body, a few drops of the repair serum help calm the itch straight away and stop the hives from forming.  On the face, I have really enjoyed using it twice daily as a soothing serum to help with replensihing my moisture level and to also help with improving my face's skin barrier function given the actives I use as part of my skincare routine at night (ie. retinol, and acids). It is not emollient enough for my dry combo skin and I need to layer a moisturiser on top afterwards.  It has reduced redness on my cheeks and since it's non-irritating even on very sensitised or aggravated skin, I can see working to calm down the irritation from a sunburn or to speed up the recovery of skin compromised by intensive skin beauty treatments.   Being so versatile in calming the skin, I'm actually taking it with me on my interstate travels this week as it is so gentle but effective in calming, soothing and rebuilding the skin barrier as well as providing moisture back to skin. This is something that I would repurchase when I run out, especially when it goes on sale. 

It's been over a year since I have received this little gem in a Best in Beauty pack and I've finally gotten around to reviewing it as I didn't start using it until about 6 months ago. Because it took me so long to write this review, it has allowed me much more time to use and assess its effectiveness and I must say I wished I started using it sooner. This is the serum/facial mosituriser that I always go to when my skin is playing up with dry patches or is irritated by my skin allergy. It soothes, hydrates and calms my skin and although it is an oil blend, it absorbs very well as does not feel greasy after use at all, leaving a soft sheen on skin and is virtually odourless which is how I prefer my skincare these days so I don't have competing fragrances when layering on products. I would use this product on its own most times, but would add a hyaluronic serum underneath if my skin is extra dry, and a drop covers half the side of my face which mean that the bottles lasts a long time. I find that with long term use at night, this rosehip oil blend firm and moisturise my face, keeping dry patches at bay and reducing my skin irritations. It also helps to even out skin tone, especially dark marks from blemish scars and gives skin an overall radiance overnight. It honestly rivals skincare products I've used that are 5 times more expensive in terms of providing ongoing firming and brightening effect. At such an affordable price point and readily accessible via the supermarkets, this is another item that I'll be replenishing now that I've got less than 10% of the product left in the bottle.
