Received the JUSTICE Professional Marine Beauty Scalp Scrub to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag and have used it twice in the last week. Their Smooth & Groom has been my ‘go to’ for over a decade and always in my bathroom. I suffer from flaky and itchy scalp so on the lookout for a product to help. I like that this comes in a squeezy tube as I have tried one that you scoop out from a plastic tub and not a fan. Noted too that this packaging is made with 30% Ocean Waste Plastic, helping to reduce marine pollution. Following the directions, wet the scalp, squeezed out the scrub onto my palm. I found it to be a little thicker than I’d like but added a small amount of warm water to make it easier to mix and spread. Lucky, I have short hair and found it easy to gently massage it into my scalp. 5 minutes is a long time so with this first use, I took it gently in case it irritated my scalp. It has a lovely natural smell even tho it contains parfum. I found it easy to rinse out in the shower and a definite salt spray taste to it! Wasn’t’ sure if you are meant to wash your hair after, but I did shampoo and condition. If you wash your hair often/daily, using the scrub 1-2 times a week is a good start as over-scrubbing could also irritate your scalp. I have only used it twice – a week apart and found no irritation. After checking out their Marine Range online, I have now purchased the Shampoo (2) and Conditioner (3) to complete my haircare and will see how it all works together. Their Marine Beauty Range is formulated with 96% natural ingredients and does not contain sulphates, silicones or parabens and the product is Australian Made

Received 2 of the Maybelline New York Lifter Stix to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag - Shades 20 and 55 I’m not too savvy with contouring and highlighting and treated this a good opportunity to experiment. The Stix were easy to apply – started with the shade 20 that was closest to my skin colour and the creamy texture went on smoothly – then applied 55 as a highlighter and a contour and blended using my fingers. Don’t think I was too successful and not happy with the results. It seemed too thick and cakey on my face. And I have a dry skin patch on my jawline and the stix coverage accentuated it and made it appear flaky and very noticeable. I am in my 60’s so perhaps it’s not suitable for my skin. I have been using the shade 20 on its own, which is a lighter shade than my natural skin colour and finding it gives good coverage and great at concealing those spots and pigmentation before using my foundation over it. 55 is a very dark shade for me but if I get a golden tan, it’ll come in handy! Appreciate being able to trial this product as it is something I wouldn’t be inclined to purchase.

Received the Clinique Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag. Serum comes is a lovely pink glass jar with a white and silver screw cap dropper and packaged in the unmistakeable Clinique green/silver box. Applied after cleansing morning and night, the dropper makes it easy to dispense the 3 drops required to start with. Lightweight white serum spreads easily over the face and down the neck. Refreshing, fragrance free and readily absorbs allowing you to apply your night moisturiser. And for the morning application it layers well under my moisturiser and makeup. Only been using it for a week but have notice an improvement in my skin which looks and feels more hydrated and I’ve had no skin irritation. Great idea to have a serum that exfoliates, hydrates and brightens the skin. I have in the past used Clinique’s Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator but had no idea there was a ‘moisture surge’ range of products including this one and I’m thankful to beautyheaven for introducing me to this great product!

Received the DU’IT Tough Hands to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag. I LOVE the packaging with the closed fist that screams “I’m serious!” Comes in a generous 150g size but also available in a 75g and a handy 30g size. The soft squeezy plastic tube and easy to open/close flip top lid makes it simple to apply one handed to your other hand smooth all over your hands. Sturdy base makes it ideal to leave next to the tap where you hand wash to remind you to use it. Cream is non-greasy, easily absorbed and also protects hands with it’s antimicrobial properties of Lemon Myrtle and Tea Tree Oil. I also use it on my feet and heels to keep them soft although they do have a foot and heel balm. Du-it is Australian made and owned and worth checking out their range of skin care and repair products.

Received the Nude By Nature Dewy Serum Blush Drops to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag. 01 Pink Petal was the shade given and they also have 2 other shades, Peach Crush and Warm Rose. Love the cute container it’s in with its soft plastic base, the colour of the shade you have (as well as being written on the back) and a smart stylish solid cap that you turn 45 degrees to open. Although the base isn’t that sturdy and I found it fell over if you didn’t carefully put it down. It has a drop dispense opening – but Don’t squeeze the base or you’ll have a flood of serum that you can’t put back in! As instructed, your shake it well before use (to blend the liquid inside) and allow a small drop to fall on the back of your hand. I picked up a minute amount with my fingertip and applied it by blending with my fingertips, or you can use a brush. Touted as being buildable but I found a small amount enough and first time using when I arrived at work and looked in the mirror, couldn’t believe how much I’d applied! Quickly removed much of it. Not a good idea to do a first-time application at 5 in the morning. Realise I should have softened it with a powder blush or light dusting of face powder. Pink Petal is perhaps not the colour for me and as much as I like the concept of blush drops, I found it not for me.

Received the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag Firstly, the ’Red Dahlia’ was an overstatement. The cap colour was red dahlia, but the colour on my lips did not have the pigment. Tested it on my hand and could barely see where I had swiped it and on white paper – nothing like the rich red dahlia colour. I’d even seen bh Instagram videos on the day and thought it was going to be a very intense colour, but no. More like a ‘sheer’ colour. As to providing 8 hours of moisture – lucky to be 1 hour. I have used a few Burt’s Bees lip balms and this one is no different – simply not moisturising or hydrating to me. It felt that by using it, my lips felt dryer! Marketing ploy perhaps? I have persisted with it for a week – sitting it next to my workspace and using it all day, It’s simply not long lasting and I’m constantly applying and re-applying - just doesn’t keep my lips moisturised. I do like and that it is natural and made from lots of lovely enriching ingredients, but not rich enough.

Received the Remington AIRvive Digital Hair Dryer to trial from the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag and have managed to use it 3 times in the last week. First impression - love Love LOVE the mauve and gold colour! It’s so lightweight and fits comfortably in my hand and is very very quiet. I have very short hair and it’s literally dry in 30 secs. It does come with a Slim styling concentrator and Curl defining diffuser and how good is the magnetic attachment system. Diffuser attachment is perfect for styling my short curls. I can’t believe how far Remington has advanced in the 12 months since their previous ONE Dry and Style Hair Dryer - it’s now obsolete and pushed to the back of the cupboard! They must have asked for female input when they came up with this model as it has so many amazing features (some I wouldn’t have even though of) but I think these are my top features - • Ionic Air Technology • Heat-activated micro-conditioners with NEW anti-frizz formula • Balanced T-shape design • LED display • Auto memory • Magnetic attachment system • Extra-long 3m cord • 5 Year Warranty This Dryer suits my wash and go, no-nonsense hair style with hairstyling time down to less than 2 minutes in the morning!

Received the Remington Remington AIRvive 2-in-1 Air Styler to trial from the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag and have managed to use it 3 times in the last week. As with their dryer, I’m loving the 2 tones of mauve and gold. I have very short hair which is naturally curly, so I’m not one for hair straightening – too much fussing around and trouble, but my hair is longer on top so there was some that could be straightened. First time use was on dry hair and I did find it a bit cumbersome to use and – but it did a quick job of straightening, and I did like that I could get it close to my scalp without getting burnt! Trying it out on wet hair didn’t seem worth the effort and I’d prefer to dry it with a hairdryer, then use the Finishing Mode to straighten. Hair is too short for me to attempt any curls or waves. I can understand the appeal of it being the one hair tool for both drying and straightening, but I feel it would take a long time especially with long and or thick hair. Very innovative with it’s technology (which I don’t understand) and features (that I do get) such as Fast Heat Up, LED Display, Wide 35mm Plates, Hinge Lock, Auto Safety Shut-Off, 3m Long Swivel Cord, Heat Resistant Syling Mat and a 5-year Warranty it is a Great product, but not that suited to my hair and something I wouldn’t use that often. I’d like to pass it on to my daughters who both have long hair (that’s wavy and curly) that they straighten - to give it a try.

Received the Dermal Therapy Overnight Face Repair Cream to trial in the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag. 40g comes in a soft squeezy plastic tube with an easy to open/close flip top lid. White cream is easy to dispense as much as you need as it’s not too thick or too runny. I applied a generous amount to my face after cleansing just before retiring to bed. It spreads easily and not at all greasy. It has a lovely aroma that I found to be very calming and relaxing – perfect for winding down. The next morning my skin felt smooth and hydrated and I found it to be as effective if not more so than other more expensive overnight creams/masks. Tried many Dermal Therapy products and have never been disappointed in the results. Australian made and owned with a good reputation for delivering real results backed by science and at affordable prices. Another great Dermal Therapy product to add to my skin care.

Received the Dermal Therapy Lip Balm Original to trial from the Best in Beauty 2025 Discovery Bag and have been using it for 1 week. Love the compact and convenient tube – screw cap lid (so it’ll never come off in your bag) and the doe foot applicator making it simple to apply. It’s translucent white and I apply it as required – 3 or 4 times through the day as lips become dry in the office or out in the wind. Goes on smoothly and even in cold weather it still glides over the lips and it’s paraben free. It has a cooling feel on the lips and no fragrance or taste. I’ve used their Berry and Manuka Honey which were both great but do prefer the Original. Another great product from Dermal Therapy, and Australian made and owned.
