My hair has been through a lot in its time (I guess so have I), so I was really excited to be offered to trial this product! To give an idea of my hair, I have quite fine hair, but a lot of it. Naturally it's a light brown colour with a red tinge, but I colour my hair every now and then with Manic Panic (red and purple mix). It is currently just below shoulder length with about an inch or two of regrowth. Due to the fine nature of my hair, I often find it gets a bit frizzy and out of control (living in Brisbane, it can feel the effects of the humidity a lot) so more often than not, I have it tied up out of my face. When I started using this oil, I was a little unsure of how it would react with my hair. As my hair tends to get a bit greasy at the roots and dry at the ends, adding oils sometimes feels counter intuitive. But I am pleasantly surprised to say that this product did not feel greasy or weigh down my hair at all! Quite the opposite actually! The oil texture is a bit thicker than the argan oil from Maple and Wattle that I have often been using lately. It has a citrus type scent which I found to be quite refreshing. I found one and a half pumps to be ample for my hair length, before with my waist length hair I would have used 2 - 3 pumps. I have only really applied it to damp, towel dried hair in the mid-lengths to ends of my hair and brushed through. I haven't tried applying it directly to my dry hair as I don't usually get as good results with hair oils when I do that as they usually tend to make my hair limp and a bit yuck looking. I have used this every time I wash my hair which is about 2 - 3 times a week and I have noticed that once my hair is completely dry (I only let my hair air dry as I rarely use heat on it anymore), it feels softer and lighter, smells fresh, appears somewhat shinier and even the frizz seems a bit more relaxed. My hair does not look or feel greasy, limp or heavy at all which is amazing for fine hair gals like me! I am hoping with continued use, I will see some good results as my hair grows out again after getting a significant hair cut in late December. Overall I think this product is fantastic and would consider purchasing it again once I have run out! Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial this product, I am so greatful!

I have been using this treatment on and off for the last few months, but more so often over the last two weeks since the weather has been warming up. My hair is quite long, wavy, un-coloured natural hair which tends to get dry at the ends. This hair mask smells quite delightful and the consistency is very thick and creamy, so if you were to get water in the tub while showering, it wouldn't really matter because you can tip out the water and not worry about pouring any of the mask out! When I shower, I shampoo my hair as normal and use this mask in place of a conditioner. I scoop out probably a small egg sized amount (even though it says to take a walnut sized amount) as I have long hair, and I work it through the mid-lengths to ends. After applying, I usually do a couple of other shower things like wash my face and body to give the mask time to work it's magic. After rinsing, my hair feels really silky and smells really fresh. Once I have finished my shower and let my hair air dry, my hair is less frizzy at the ends as usual and it feels softer with a bit of added shine. I feel as though this mask has added a bit of strength to my hair, but quite often I use other leave in products in my hair after showering, so I' not sure if it all comes down to the mask or a mixture of the products I am using, The tub is quite small compared to most hair masks I have bought in the past, but because of the consistency and how little I need to use, I still have been able to get a fair amount of treatments out of it and still have about 1/4 left. Totally worth it for how much I paid for it (I think I paid $6 instead of $15), even if I'm not using the shampoo and conditioner with it.

I bought this from work a few months ago because I was really excited to finally try an eyelash treatment to add into my self care beauty routine! I was able t buy this on discount for just under $20, which made me feel a little better buying it because I was a little hesitant and skeptical. But I'm so glad I made the purchase! My eyelashes have always been kind of okay, but I have some problem areas on both my bottom lash lines where the middle parts seem really sparse and fall out easier than the rest of my lashes. I also have an issue with a few lashes on my upper right eyelid near the middle which always seem to come out quicker and easier than the rest. So I have been using this semi-consistently for around 3 or 4 months now and I have noticed SUCH a difference in the appearance and length of my eye lashes! They seem to be falling out less and less often. When I apply it to the areas I don't have many lashes, after a few days I can see new ones coming through and filling the gaps. I would say that I started seeing results about a month after beginning to use the serum where the instruction leaflet (by memory) said most people start seeing results after about 8 - 16 weeks (or something like that). The serum comes in a handy little 10mL glass bottle with a brush applicator that looks like a mini mascara brush. The hexagonal lid makes it easy to hold onto when applying the serum. The instructions say to apply it every night before bed, which I have been doing most nights (not EVERY SINGLE night, because sometimes I'm so tired, I just can't be bothered). I do find that some mornings I have some crusty residue in the corners of my eyelashes if I have put too much on, but for the results i have seen, it doesn't really bother me at all. I don't get any irritation using it and it is a very gentle formula that doesn't bother my eyes at all. I noticed after a few months of having it, the smell has kind of changed a tiny bit, but it hasn't affected the consistency or quality of it what-so-ever. On some occasions, I have curled my eyelashes and just put on a quick coat of this to help set them in place for the day and just to keep up with my daily applications. It doesn't work as effectively as a mascara obviously because it's a serum, but it does help a bit! Sometimes I have also used this on my eyebrows if I have over plucked them or I find they are looking a little thinner than usual and within a couple of days I actually have to pluck them because there are too many new hairs growing! The only reason I have given it 4/5 stars is because it hasn't so much made my lashes look 'fuller' and because of the crusty residue. Other than that, I am totally amazed at how much my eyelashes have grown and how good they look when I put mascara on! I have posted a couple of photos on my beauty Instagram account @perfumefanatique of my eyelashes if anyone wants to see the results!

I was lucky enough to be sent this from Coty in a thank you prize for taking a selfie of me and my Sally Hansen Online Training prize! Woot woot! This cuticle oil comes in a little convenient squeeze tube with a twist off cap that covers the applicator brush. The formula smells really nice with a sweet melon-y scent and the consistency is kind of like a thin but not runny gel. Almost like the consistency of Palmer's Cocoa Butter lip balms that come in the little tubes I suppose? Since receiving it, I have been using it daily for just under two weeks. My nails and cuticles have been suffering a lot lately with the hot weather, so my skin, nails and cuticles have become very dry and started to peel. When I apply the gel, I brush it on the skin surrounding my nails, on my cuticles and over the entire nail. I do this on all my fingers and then sit there for a while to massage it in. I apply it on the skin surrounding my nails to help restore the moisture and prevent the bottom and sides of my nails becoming dry and peeling. This gel soaks into the skin, cuticles and nails really well and doesn't feel sticky or greasy. It only takes a few minutes for it to massage in so it is good to do while your sitting around not really doing anything. With consistent use, I have found my cuticles and nails have improved dramatically and they no longer feel dry and brittle. My nails are more resistant to bending and peeling and my cuticles look softer, healthier and under control. This has been a most welcome addition to my nail care routine and I am so grateful that Coty was kind enough to send this to me! I will surely purchase this when I am nearly out!

I was lucky enough to pick up this amazing eye shadow quad in 'E6 - Eau De Rose' from the freebies table at work (cue excited jumping!) This quad offers the perfect combination of pinks and a deeper reddish/purple-y pink to create a deliciously pretty smokey eye. The range comes in sleek looking rounded square palettes with a golden frame outlining a clear window so you can see the highly pigmented colours within. On the back of the packaging is a neat little diagram which has outlined the different sections of the eye lid and under the brow. This helpful diagram is also numbered from 1 - 4 which indicates (on a smaller diagram of the actual palette) which colour to use on what part of the eye lid. Really helpful if you are starting out (like me) and are unsure where to begin! The dual ended sponge tip applicator has a rounded end which is great for applying the shadow to larger areas, and the other end has a more precise slanted tip which I find useful for applying the shadows around the corners of the eye and through the crease. I really like the quality and softness of this applicator compared to nearly all of the sponge tip applicators that I have had and used in the past. I love the feeling of these shadows too. They are light and creamy and super easy to apply and blend (be it with the sponge applicator, a brush or just touching it with your finger). The first time I used this palette, I used the sponge applicator which worked really well. It applied the colours smoothly and evenly, and blending was quite easy. I haven't yet been adventurous enough to bring my eye shadows up to my brow bone, so I stick to putting eye shadows on my lid only following the crease line. Having said that, I still think this palette works really well for achieving the smokey eye look even if it doesn't reach up to the brow bone. The second time I used the eye shadows, I used my newly bought ecoTOOLS eye shadow brush. I found the application to be slightly easier and more precise than using the sponge tip applicator, and the brush is flatter and can work the colours along the crease better. Blending was also easier for me using the brush. On every occasion that I have used this quad, the results have been really pleasing and the longevity is far greater than any other 'drugstore' eye shadow I have used thus far. I work 8 hour shifts and my eye shadow looks almost the same at the end of the day as what it did in the morning when I put it on. I also find I get a lot more nice comments from the girls at work when I wear it too! I don't find this eye shadow settles in creases over time or crumbles all over the place when you're trying to put it on, and I just can't get enough of using it! I will surely be buying this quad in some other shades when they come on special in the future.

After trying Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, I was pretty keen to try the Gel Envy to see how it compared, and I'd have to say I'm pretty disappointed in this one. I bought this in the 'new' shade 'Gambling Heart" which is a red polish with an almost hot pink tone to it. Luckily I got it in a gift set which had the colour and top coat in one pack and it discounted from $15.95 to $12.75. So I paid less for both bottles than I would have if I got one bottle at full price. If I had bought them at regular price, I would be more annoyed. For the same RRP, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is 3mL bigger with a better brush application and longer staying power. Sally lasted me a solid week with minimal, ever-so-slight chipping around the edges of a few nails. This is impressive working in retail where my nails usually get ruined within a day or two of putting on fresh polish. The Gel Envy lasted not even a day without chipping. After 5 days, most of the free edge part of my nails had all chipped off and a few of my nails had started peeling from the cuticle edge (and this wasn't from the way I applied it). This was really disappointing considering I had such good results from the Miracle Gel. Another thing that was kind of annoying was that the colour I bought it in was still a bit transparent with 2 coats, so I had to apply 3 coats to make it more opaque. I may still buy some other shades from the range but only if they are on a good special, but otherwise I would rather stick to the Miracle Gel.

I have always been curious of charcoal face and body care products ever since I started working at a chemist, so I was quick to jump on the opportunity to try the exfoliating charcoal bar! First impression... it was odd for me to actually hold a black bar of soap, but it smelt minty and fresh. The first couple of times I used the soap, I lathered the soap between my hands as directed and applied it to my skin. It didn't feel like it was going to clean my skin enough, so I used an exfoliating brush to work it into a lather and then rinsed my face. It felt a little cool and tingly from the peppermint, and my skin felt amazingly clean and fresh. Since using the soap as directed the first couple of times, I decided to use the soap directly on my face as you don't really get the exfoliating part if you rub it between your hands and then apply the lather onto your face. Using this charcoal soap for a few days, I have definitely seen a visible improvement in my skin. My skin cleared up much faster and the pores on and around my nose and t-zone areas have visibly reduced. This is a big win for me as I have always had problems tackling larger pores around these two areas. My skin is also less oily than usual which is nice and refreshing for a change. I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future (or trying the other charcoal products in the Biore range) for the price, it's totally worth it!

I don't really clip my nails too often, but when I do, I rather enjoy using the Clip N' Catch clippers. The plastic catcher is handy to have if you aren't near a bin or can't be bothered going to one straight away. Some of the time I do find that the catcher actually fails to 'catch' the clippings if it flicks out the edge and you have to retrieve it, but I didn't expect it to be fail-proof. I like the handles on the clippers, they have a nicely contoured grip to make it easier to hold onto and squeeze together. Do you ever try to use the clippers with the straight handles and your fingers slip off the edge or you can't hold them comfortably? It doesn't seem so bad with these. These still work sharp as ever and they serve their purpose well.

I was really excited to try these polishes out after seeing them online, so I went on my merry way and bought the miracle gel in two shades; 'Shockwave' and 'Mad Women'. A few days later, I noticed we got them in at work in duo packs with the top coat and colour for $9.99, so I bought another one in the colour 'Up The Ante' so I could get the top coat too as I didn't have it yet (and for that price, how could I walk by?!) Compared to Revlon's Colorstay Gel Envy range, the Miracle Gel is 3mL larger for the same RRP, however the colour range isn't as large. One of the things I like the most with applying this polish is the flattened brush. I really enjoy when polishes come with a flattened brush as it makes the application so much quicker, easier and cleaner compared to the regular style brush. The consistency of this polish is quite smooth and glides on really well. I have shellac polish that needs to be cured under a UV light, and the miracle gel is MUCH more pleasant to apply and remove! Two thin coats of colour was enough to make it opaque (although I could add another coat to make the colour even more solid) and drying time between coats was minimal. After the colour, I used the top coat and waited about 5 minutes and my nails were dry to the touch and I could resume using my hands and touching things without fear of ruining my nails. Working in retail, I often find it difficult to find nail polishes that can 'stand the test of time'. Normally my nails are ruined the day after giving them a fresh mani which is always disappointing. I was pleased to find that the miracle gel lasted an entire week (including five full working days) with only a few tiny chips on the edges of about two nails. I must admit, although the colour lasted the week, the top coat became dull over time because my nails are always rubbing and scratching against things as I move stock around and by getting perfume on some of my nails spraying testers for customers. As well as the dulling of shine, after a few days of wear, closer inspection of my nails showed what look like lots of little fracture lines coming from the edges of my nails which must be from where my nails have bent a little. These little lines aren't very noticeable holding the hands away from your face, but looking at them close enough you can see them. A little annoying, but it's better than the nail polish chipping off. Using this nail polish definitely helped protect my nails from breaking off at work because it made them feel much stronger and resilient to bending and tearing. I used it for two weeks (wearing one colour for a week and then changing to a different colour for another week) and my nails grew so much and never broke off! I felt like I had my nails done at the salon. Overall, I really enjoy using this polish as it is easier to use than the UV curing polishes, is easy to apply and lasts a long time for a retail gal like me. The price is a bit "eh", but worth it for the longevity and protection it gives, I'd probably only purchase more colours if they were on special in the future though.

Since Sukin became my designated section to fill and take care of at work, I feel a bit of a connection to it now. I like reading all the labels and using the testers and getting to know the products better... and what better way than to buy some for myself to use at home! I got the sensitive facial moisturiser for a change as usually I get ordinary moisturisers. Lately I have found I am getting irritated skin from using so many different things on it so I figured something more gentle would be the change I needed. This moisturiser has a very light and delicate sent to it and feels very creamy and nourishing on the skin, but it isn't heavy or greasy. I find it helps soothe my skin after removing makeup and washing my face. It also helps to soothe the dry areas of my skin during seasonal changes. When I apply this at night, my skin feels very light and refreshed in the morning and it is much less itchy compared to when I am not using it. I really enjoy this product and will definitely be repurchasing when my current one runs out. The added benefit is that it is Australian made and owned and not tested o animals. Winning all round!
