About me

I have just turned 44 and my skin is normal/dry combination that in summer tends to be oily in the T-zone and in winter I get dryness on cheeks and around the mouth and am occasionally prone to dermatitis in those areas. I have mid-length fine hair that is chemically treated, oily scalp, thinning and tends to be dry at the ends. I am also an avid user of electronic devices for facial rejuvenation and prevention of ageing.

I have baby fine hair my husband calls "cobwebs", because if you get one on you, it can't be seen but it can be felt and tickles until you manage to find it. It is mid length and dark blonde so this doesn't help either! I'm not sure it maybe I got a bad batch but my conditioner smells "funky", like stale cooking oil. To be fair it still performs well, it does make my hair feel wonderful after drying and much less frizz to deal with. It definitely makes my hair feel thicker and look more voluminous and healthy, I just can't love it because it smells so stale. I also like that this product is cruelty free. The shampoo I got from the same range smells lovely so again I am wondering if maybe the product I bought was old or it it was just a bad batch. I have tried giving it a good shake to make sure the ingredients are all mixed but it still smells bad. I'm not sure if I will buy it again even though it does work and my hair does look really good, I just don't want to risk getting another smelly product that I will probably end up throwing away because it is not pleasant to use.

This dryer is amazing. Until I tried this I thought a hairdryer was just a hairdryer, made to blow hot air! This has forever changed my mind. My hair is long and extremely fine. Seriously, there are babies with thicker hair than mine. On a hair calibrator it measures about 25 millionths of a meter. TINY, very hard to see a single hair. My husband calls it cobwebs, you can feel it on you, but you can't see the bugger! Anyway, usually this means that my hair will catch and snag in brush dryers but NOT this one. The brush is kind of oval and it doesn't rotate so there is less ways for hair to snag. It dries my hair perfectly and WITHOUT frizz. It is unbelievable to me that this dryer calms my frizzy fluffy hair. Seriously, its like a combination of a hair straightener and hair dryer which is what I need and love about it. It does get super hot so I would advise using a heat protector spray. The bag that it comes in is also a heat protection mat, it folds out flat so you can use to hold the dryer right after use and if you have a stone top bathroom bench or a plastic composite vanity top it won't cause cracking or melting. It also comes with a little brush that helps to keep the "bristles" clean. The bristles are solid thermal plastic so if you get clumsy and bump your scalp with them you will feel it! They don't get hot though so that is a good thing. My only gripe is the dryer is a little on the heavy side but I do suffer from tendonitis in my wrist so I am probably weak in the wrist more than someone who doesn't have it. Overall it leaves my hair soft and shiny (I use the GHD heat protector spray for fine hair) and my hair has no frizz, which is kind of a miracle! It takes a little getting used to, but once you have it down it is pretty quick and the results are worth it.

This conditioner is amazing, smells delicious, and makes my hair super shiny, super manageable and soooo soft I can't stop touching it and it smells like DESSERT! (I know I mentioned smell twice but it's seriously YUMMY!!). I have very fine hair, with an oily scalp and very dry mid lengths and ends from colour and styling. I also am prone to dermatitis on my scalp but since using this conditioner with the matching shampoo I have not had a flare up witch is a Major bonus. The ingredients list is super impressive, I won't list all the ingredients as there are so many that are amazing, just know that the quality of this product is very impressive. Anyone with long fine coloured hair knows what a pain it can be to comb out after a wash, but this conditioner helps make that process much easier. I haven't yet noticed any significant colour fade since using it for the last couple of weeks but due to it's gentle nature I doubt that will be an issue. Very impressed at full retail price, $50 for both shampoo and conditioner together and each bottle contains 750ml which will last quite a while so great value for money considering the quality is top notch, I will definitely be purchasing again once these bottles run out.

I must admit I wasn't too thrilled when I received this shampoo and conditioner set as the first thing I do is smell new products. I have never been a fan of anything that smells remotely of coconut but this shampoo is actually beautiful. It has a smell that is more like Toffee, caramel and coconut combined. If you have ever used Vaseline Intensive care Coco Glow body lotion this smells exactly like that. I use both, so when I'm done after my shower I smell like a giant toffee tart! Other than that I am also thrilled that there is NO pump, pumps make it impossible to get to the last 100ml or so in the bottom and they are notoriously difficult to activate initially so the flip top lid is excellent, if they could make it bigger so you can sit the bottle upside down to make getting all the product out it would be even better. The shampoo is very thick in consistency, more like a cream or a lotion and it is toffee in colour. It is very rich and the resulting lather is also very rich and creamy. I have an oily scalp, super fine hair and very dry ends due to colouring and styling but this shampoo cleans my scalp well without over stripping and I still get 3 days out of a wash. I am prone to dermatitis on my scalp, but since using this I have had no flare ups which is a minor miracle in itself. I think other shampoos I have been using have been over stripping too much which has been the cause of my scalp issues. The cherry on top is my colour hasn't faded as fast with this shampoo, I use dark blonde colours sometimes permanent and top ups with semi-permanent the most recent colour being a top-up. My overall impression of this shampoo is "LOVE" at first use. Yes I would purchase this once the bottle is finished. My hair is now super shiny, super soft, super manageable and smells like dessert. what's not to love?! Very impressed.

I have been using this cream on and off since I was in my late teens and studied Beauty Therapy. I always come back to it as nothing compares. I now have mature skin (45+) with an oily T-zone and normal cheeks but I am very prone to dehydration (even on my oily T-zone). I also used to have Rosacea but have had vascular laser therapy and this has completely fixed that issue. This cream is THICK, and it definitely leaves a soothing film on the skin's surface which locks down and seals in moisture preventing TEWL (Trans-epidermal water loss). You don't need much, only a small pea sized amount will cover your entire face, if you use too much you will be an oil slick. I love that it contains both Petrolatum and lanolin, the petrolatum (mineral Oil) is what stays on the skin's surface as a barrier and the lanolin absorbs into the upper layers of the epidermis and acts as an emollient that smoothes out and calms irritation. Zinc is an amazing ingredient if you are prone to breakouts or redness as it it calming and soothing, there is only about 10-12%, so nowhere near enough to perform any sunscreening duties, as you need approximately 20% to achieve an SPF of 15. The zinc in this cream is purely therapeutic in a soothing, anti-inflammatory and healing capacity. Tomato extract is also anti-inflammatory and contains various antioxidants good for skin. The fragrance is lovely, some might think it a little old fashioned as this cream is the original (OG) Ella Bache cream that was formulated in 1939. The history of the company is very interesting if you google it. The jar packaging is necessary for this cream as you would never get it out of a tube due to it's thickness. I love the pretty pink colour and the heavy glass jar as it just adds to the luxurious experience for me. I will continue to use this cream now as I am tired of buying cheaper products that just end up leaving my face feeling tight and dry. If you use it right it will serve you well.

I've been using this cleanser for years. As an Esthetician I am used to using milk and cream cleansers and actually prefer them even though my skin can be quite oily in the t-zone. I love everything about it. No parabens, no harsh detergents, no phthalates, basically no harsh chemicals. It's cruelty free, natural, vegan and Australian made. What is even better is is smells INCREDIBLE, it feels amazing and does the job perfectly for me every time. I will continue to use this as I actually look forward to cleansing my face with this beauty. My skin is mature (over 40) with an oily t-zone and drier out toward the cheeks and temples with a tendency to become dehydrated easily. This cleanser never leaves me feeling stripped or dry. It is my fave.

It's been a while since I started looking for the perfect shampoo for my extremely fine, oily as heck hair. It is now at a length that is too long for me, I'm more of a mid-length kind of girl so I really need a cut as this also helps a lot with volume and weight reduction on my hair so it looks fuller. This conditioner is lovely to use because it smells like green apples. So fresh and clean and fruity, fragrance means a lot to me in a shampoo and this one is a winner for me. The consistency is very much like your typical conditioner, however it is not too heavy and not too light - it's in the Goldilocks zone for my fine hair. I love the ingredients that are in the conditioner and the ones that they leave out, especially nasty silicones. Fine hair and silicone do not mix well as it can dry my hair out to a crisp. The addition of hydrolysed collagen and chia help to nourish and moisturise just enough for my hair to not become a frizzy mess. The bonus for me is that I can get 3 days out of a shampoo, more if I use the dry shampoo in between, so I am not using as much product and saving money. I would use this for the scent alone as I have been looking for a beautiful smelling shampoo and conditioner set that don't break the bank and work well for oily hair.

I am in love with this toothbrush. It is the first Foreo product I've used that I think is actually worth the price. My teeth are a little bit sensitive, a fact I didn't realise until I tried my first sonic toothbrush (Colgate). It felt like I was brushing my teeth with a jack hammer and was extremely painful. This toothbrush is the total opposite, painless and easy to tolerate even on the highest speed, which is where I like to use it. The bristles are silicone on the outside and in the centre they are PBT polymer. They are incredibly soft but exceptionally good at bouncing right back after every use. They also clean my teeth very well and are very hygienic. The brush head is flexible and replaceable and can be used for 6 months. You can lock the on/off button for travel which is good because no one wants suspicious vibrating noises coming from their luggage! All you have to do is press and hold the + and - buttons down together at the same time. One charge is supposed to last up to 1 year with twice a day usage for 2 minutes. I can't confirm this yet as I have only been using it for 6 weeks - usually twice per day unless I'm a lazy girl that day! But as it hasn't missed a beat in the almost 2 months I've used it I would say it is probably correct. I also like that it will vibrate in the handle and the the light will flash at the base every 30 seconds to remind you to move to the next quadrant. When the 2 minutes is up the light in the base lights up and stays on. You DON'T need to use this brush with an App or even register it with an APP. You are not tied to some silly phone App that tells you how to brush your teeth! You use this brush like you would a normal toothbrush, up and down and round and round, which is different than your regular Oral B type electric toothbrush that you hold in place on each tooth before moving to the next. This brush is more natural for me to use as that is they way I have cleaned my teeth my whole life. The Issa 3 brush head is narrower than the Issa 2 but is still a smidge larger than a regular toothbrush. Not hard to get used to though and completely comfortable even for me as I have a very small mouth. Last but not least, I do feel it cleans my teeth better than a normal toothbrush and I would definitely re-purchase if it died in a couple of years time. However I have heard of people having Foreo products for many years without any issues so I will use it for as long as it lives.

This conditioner is great for my baby fine, long and EXTREMELY oily scalp and hair. It has a lovely smell, very subtle and fresh and doesn't linger long on the hair after it is dry. I only apply this conditioner to the mid lengths and ends of my hair as my scalp is so very, very VERY oily. My hair is so fine that when I was doing Hairdressing when I was younger my teacher put one of my hairs on a calibrator that measures the diameter of the hair shaft. There are literally babies with better and thicker hair than I have. That is why it is so important for me to have a conditioner that doesn't weigh my hair down and also does NOT contain silicones. Silicone can dry out hair like mine and actually CAUSE frizzyness, which is the exact opposite to how it works on normal thickness hair. Silicone can actually make my hair feel like straw if I use products that contain it for long enough. This is the main reason why I decided to try this conditioner and shampoo pairing. I prefer the conditioner to the shampoo as it has a great consistency, thick and easy to apply, subtle scent and really tames my frizzy mane to perfection. I don't need to use any other products after this as my hair looks shiny and perfectly conditioned. Due to the lack of silicone my hair does take a little longer to dry but I'll take that over frizzy, knotty, uncontrollable fine and flyaway hair any day. The ingredients list is also pretty spectacular especially for the budget price tag. I totally recommend this if you have a frustratingly difficult time with products for your oily hair. The bonus round goes to this conditioner for being Aussie made and owned. Lots to love here.

I had higher hopes for this shampoo as I really like Sukin products. To be completely fair, I have a difficult hair type. EXTREMELY baby fine hair with a scalp that is worthy of strip mining for oil! Silicones actually cause dryness and they make my hair feel like straw if I use them long enough so the fact that this shampoo doesn't have any is excellent and the reason why I chose it. The smell is very subtle and pleasant, doesn't linger long on the hair at all. The reason for my disappointment is in the consistency of the shampoo, it is soooooo runny. Seriously, it is not much thicker than water. I have tried shaking it to make sure nothing has settled but to no avail. You really have to be careful when "trying" to apply it or it will go everywhere. Due to the runny consistency you will also go through this product extremely FAST! As far as performance goes, it works well enough. I only get 2 days out of it before I have to wash again, other brands I will get 3 days. On the plus side, my hair is smooth and shiny after using it, no dryness or frizzy hair at all. This is the first shampoo that controls my frizzy fine long hair without having to use ANY other products on top of it. You also HAVE to shampoo twice, the first time it will barely foam up at all. The second shampoo is more foamy and I leave it on for a minute and then massage it through my scalp again to make sure all oil has dissolved and gets washed away. I've only been using it for 3 weeks now and will use it up but will try the Akin Purifying shampoo next to compare. If it works as well as this but has a better consistency then I will definitely prefer it. If you have oily hair this is definitely worth trying.
