After watching multiple YouTube videos with artists using the jumbo pencil in Milk I knew I had to try it. It made such a difference to their eye looks and made their shadow colours "pop". I've had my pencil for a couple of years now and it still works a treat. From memory it was the last in the colour in the shop I purchased it and since browsing the Nyx stands in other shops I've noticed other people gravitating towards it as well. I predominantly use it for 1960s style makeup - a strong white/cream lid with a deeper crease colour and black winged liner. When doing this look previously I always struggled getting the bright white look I was going for just with powders alone. With Milk as a base I don't have to use as much powder shadow as the white pigment is already there and I'm able to get the matte/opaque look I'm after. The only thing to note is it can crease and move after a few hours, which is certainly not a great look! In order to lessen the chances of this happening I try and apply it sparingly across the lid and then go over the top with my fingertip to sheer it out a bit, and this also seems to help it set a bit more too. Then make sure it is well covered with powder and you may not encounter any noticeable creasing. I haven't tried it with darker or brighter colours, but I've heard it works amazingly with brights. I've heard there are even better products out these days for the same purpose but for the time being I'm happy with my jumbo pencil and think it's great value for money.

After being really impressed with the L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil conditioner I had high hopes for this one. As the Elvive range is fairly extensive I thought this one would be worth a try since I suffer from dry, coarse and at times frizzy hair. My hair is pretty long and gets a bit tangled once wet so it needs quite a concentrated hydrating formula in order to smooth it out. I'll start with the positives - this conditioner smells quite nice. That's about where it ends. I found I needed a heap of product (what felt like 1/4 of the bottle) just to get it to spread right to the ends. After blow drying I noticed my hair looked rather straw-like and lacked smoothness and shine. Since my initial experience I haven't attempted to use it on it's own but have used it in conjunction with conditioners, just so I don't waste it. I will not be purchasing this one again.

First things first, this smell is amazing! Very grapefruit-y (which I suppose isn't a surprise), fresh and zesty - great for a pick me up in the morning. However, I don't find it the most effective scrub. It would be much nicer if it had the texture of a sugar or salt scrub, but it's more like a gel that contains little, scratchy particles that feel like they're grazing the surface of the skin but not doing anything to make it smoother. It's also left some of my more delicate areas a little raw feeling, but maybe I was scrubbing too hard. I'll continue to use it as the scent is so lovely, but there are way more effective scrubs out there.

I tend to favour applying foundation with my fingers (as I find it more convenient and it saves product) but I'll sometimes use a brush or sponge. This is an affordable, easy to use sponge and its design makes it easy for pressing foundation onto the skin, and also for getting into the contours of the face (like around the nose, under the eyes, etc.). I usually use cream concealer but if I use liquid I find this helps in the application and it helps it to blend out to a natural finish. I find this tool particularly good if I'm wanting a slightly dewier finish, although I've found with certain foundations it has made the product not as long-wearing (which I suppose comes with a more dewy texture). Overall, a great product that I would recommend anyone to try!

I bought this powder as a very popular beauty blogger recommended it as one of her old favourites. Firstly I'll start with the pros: it's very affordable and the pressed powder compact makes it easy to travel with, less mess, etc. It also keeps the skin pretty matte throughout the day. The downside to this product is I don't find it sits well on the skin and seems to emphasise the tiniest hair or imperfection on your face. It's definitely not as finely milled as a loose powder, but it also doesn't go on as seamlessly as some of the other pressed powders I've tried. I've discontinued using it for that reason as there are better options out there, even in the same price range.

This is my favourite product for dry lips and I always carry it with me. My last one ran out a little too quickly as my partner was also fond of using it! The formula immediately works to soothe dry, irritated or chapped lips and heals them within no time. The formula is relatively thick (but not in an uncomfortable way) so it lasts quite long time on the lips without needing to be reapplied. I often find lipsticks dry out or irritate my lips so I put a little of this on beforehand and the application is much more comfortable.

I much prefer this product to all other expensive hairsprays I've tried. I use this predominantly to smooth down frizz and flyways after blowdrying, and also to keep my hair in place when I tie my hair back. I find it has the right amount of hold without feeling heavy or sticky. I tend to use it by spraying a bit on my hands and then smoothing it over my hair. Sometimes when I've tried this technique with other brands it has had a less than desirable effect, particularly if the product dries and turns into a white powdery substance, but this works perfectly. It's one of those products I continually need to replace as I use it so much (at least once a day) and I've also got travel-sized versions so I can take it with me on holiday.

I'm always a bit apprehensive to try new mascaras, particularly the chemist/drugstore variety, as I find there are more duds than not. However, after hearing a good review about this one from one of my favourite beauty gurus I decided to try it. Firstly, the packaging is really cute. I love the shiny pink colour and the thick tube, which fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The brush is also a nice design. The formula is very smooth and doesn't clump in the slightest. Now onto the cons. My eyelashes are very fine so I always try and opt for mascaras that not only lengthen but give thickness and volume. This mascara adds nothing in the way of volume to my lashes, even after attempting to apply several coats. I also find the formula doesn't build very well so even after going over the same area several times it doesn't seem to transfer much more product. The formula seems too wet to be effective and I'm not sure if I got one of a bad batch or whether this is standard for this product. To conclude I probably wouldn't recommend this product, maybe only to people with already thick, long eyelashes who are wanting a very natural look.

I have been using this product for several years now and am onto my second compact after I dropped and broke my first one :( It's an excellent value for money product. It glides on nice and smooth and is very pigmented. It's in a smart looking compact and is easy to use. My current one has been going for nearly two years after regular use, although I have hit pan on the lighter colour. My only complaint is I don't think I picked the right colour the second time around, but I'll know for next time!

I bought this conditioner after my aunt recommended it (and she's very fussy when it comes to hair products!). I have quite long, thick and dry hair so I need thoroughly moisturising hair products. This untangles my hair and leaves it smooth and shiny. It seems a much better quality product than any other supermarket brand conditioner I've used in the past. The consistency is quite thin, but it spreads nicely within the hair and I noticed it feeling smoother almost immediately. You do need to concentrate on rinsing it out, however, as it seems to cling to the hair quite well. On one occasion it left a heavy feeling residue on my hair after not rinsing it out properly and every time I touched my hair glitter would come off onto my fingers! It has an interesting smell, which seems to linger for a while. Would certainly recommend.
