Firstly, thankyou for Beauty Heaven for choosing me to be a part of the Glosscar Awards 2024. I received my Glosscar pack on the 29th February, and started playing with the Remington ONE Straighten & Curl Styler nearly every day. I had never used a Straightener/Curl Styler before so I needed the practice. (My current hair dryer is a Remington Keratin Therapy Dryer -purchased in 2013 – their products do last). I have fine hair, which is cut into a mid-neck length bob, ideal for straightening, waves or curls. After drying my hair, I sectioned it up and straightened each section to get the look I wanted. It did take me a few tries, it paid off I had a lovely straight bob. Next day, section time again and this time I tried the beachy waves, using the barrel, it took a while but it certainly was worth the effort, I haven’t had waves or curls for a very long time. I totally enjoyed the fun of having a different hair look. The hair straightener weighs 422grams, so it can get a bit heavy after a while. I loved that you can change from one style setting to another at the flick of a switch, and the temperature control is a fantastic idea. I always used it at 150 deg, and heat time of 20 seconds. The /heat mat/storage bag are a bonus, great for resting the hot straightener on and for travelling, and the heat glove, a great idea. Packaging is perfection, a really classy product.

I received my Glosscar pack on the 29th February, and starting using the products that night. Firstly, the packaging is very pretty lotion in a pink box and Contour Cup in a blue box, the instructions are printed in white, I found this hard to read, maybe a darker colour would work. The Booty Body Lotion and Contouring Cup (made from firm silicone) is a totally new concept for me, I was intrigued. I applied the lotion to my stomach and with the wet contour cup massaged in a circular motion until the lotion was absorbed. I could feel the slight tightness in my skin. I then applied the lotion to the top of my legs and calves using the same circular motion with the cup, I definitely felt the difference, smooth, soft and supple. (I don’t have cellulite, just winkles in my calves). I then applied it to my arms, and wow the effect was amazing, the age wrinkles appear smoother and tighter, amazing. The cream has heaps of skincare goodness packed into it. Great concept, something that I will do on a regular basis and then jump into the shower for the total effect.

I haven’t purchased Impulse products for many years, I just stopped buying them. I have certainly changed my mind with the new look bottle and the fragrance of “Balanced Mind Jade - Pear, Jasmine and Vanilla” Body Fragrance mist, from the Mist-ic Collection. The spray is made in Poland for Unilever. The bottle and cap are recyclable. There is a large list of ingredients in the spray, including Jade, with under notes of Pear, Jasmine and Vanilla, combined together make a lightweight fragrant spray. I sprayed this on my damp, warm skin after a shower, this made the fragrance last longer. I did give my pillow case a quick spray with the product, a beautiful relaxing fragrance to drift off to sleep with. The product doesn’t leave any marks on my clothing or on my sheets. This is perfect to use to freshen up during the day or night, not strong enough to make your perfume over-bearing, a really nice feeling of being fresh and clean. The bottle is 150ml and is lightweight so it is great to pop into your handbag. The packaging is soft and subtle, the same as the fragrance.

Manufactured by Orbis in Australia, Du’it Tough Body certainly stands up to its name, instant hydration and softness. Packed with so many ingredients, the most important for me is Probiotics and Niacinamide, and free from Parabens. I now have found a new favourite body lotion. The cream is lightweight and feels a bit tacky when you first apply it, this is gone within a couple of minutes. I applied this after my evening shower, when my skin was damp and warm from the shower, the impact is virtually instant, quickly absorbed into the skin and leaving it feeling nourished and soft. I paid particular attention to my elbows, feet and legs. The white patches on my elbows disappeared within a couple of days and my feet, especially my heels feel smooth and tender. My hands get the treatment during the process of hydrating my body. I gave this to my husband to try and he is very impressed with the saturation and soothing effect on his hands. There is a slight fragrance which is dissipates very quickly. The 300ml pump bottle is easy to use, the packing is very subtle, letting the product be the star.

Australian owned and made Dermal Therapy Overnight Lip Repair Mask is a product that should be in every woman’s skin care range. It is quite the bomb packed into a little pump tube. The 10gram pump action tube is full of super rich ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, Urea (great for peeling away dead skin layers) Peptides and Collagen. Initially I had an issue with the squeezing and pumping instructions, once mastered it was easy. The cream is a dense white cream which appears clear on your lips, and a small amount totally covers your lips. No fragrance, no nasties, exactly what you need for your lips. The nourishing effect is instant. I applied the cream at night and let it do it’s magic overnight, and it certainly does that. This is a product that you could use anytime you feel your lips are dry or want a hydrated shiny lip.

Weleda Skin Food – WOW, this is definitely a product that I will add to my night time skin care routine. The product is manufactured in Swizterland, and it is packed with wonderful natural extracts Pansy, Organic Calendula, Chamomile with Cica, Squalane and Organic Sacha Inchi oil, all these amazing natural ingredients have healing properties, and the light fragrance is gone in seconds. I have mature skin which needs a lot of nourishing and this cream is the works. On feeling the cream with me fingers I felt the richness without the cream being heavy, it is very light, once applied to my face and neck my skin reacted felt feed, on waking in the morning my skin felt soft, smooth and looked radiant. The packing is simple, which I love as the product does the talking. The cream comes in a glass container, another plus for me, for me all good creams come in glass, and the price $32.95 is great, during the week trial I used very little cream, therefore the jar would last around 3 months.

I was chosen as part of the trial team for L’oreal Midnight Serum, many thanks to BH and L’oreal.The packaging of the new serum is very high end, black and amber glass and contains 30ml of serum. The serum is delivered by using a dropper – for me the dropper was just not right. You had to work hard to get the 3-4 drops of product into the dropper – that was the only drawback I had. The serum applied morning or night nourished my skin and gave it a very healthy and glowing. There is a slight fragrance in the serum, once applied to your face it dissipates very quickly, no lingering fragrance. I used this all over my face, neck and around my eyes. The 30ml bottle lasted for around 4 weeks using it both morning and evening. It absorbed very quickly into my skin, and on occasions I did not follow up with a moisturizer or night cream. Great to wear under foundation, no piling, just soft, dewy and glowing. On comparison with a few other serums, I have tried this is great value for money.

I was fortunate to be chosen as a member of the trial team to test Harmony “My Beauty” Marine Collagen + Asta Real + Silica. Classy packaging, loved it. The powder is pink in colour and packed with lots of ingredients to improve the look and feel of your skin and promote collagen. It is very simple to take, just mix 1 teaspoon of powder with your water, tea, coffee, a smoothie, or added to yoghurt. This is very fine powder which has a quite a strong smell of marine fish, not unpleasant for my taste buds. I mixed the powder in a small glass of cold water it formed a sort of jelly like liquid which dissolved when stirred. The powder is dairy free and gluten free, no preservatives. The recommended use is 4 grams of powder daily, the container holds 80 grams of powder which was enough for 20 days, was this long enough to show results, I am not sure. However, skin looks healthy, feels nourished, so overall I am pleased with the result. I am especially pleased with the change in my nails, they are longer and stronger. I was fortunate to be on the trial team for Nivea Q10 Power Anti-Age Pampering Oil, for Mature Skin. The first thing I noticed about this product was the bottle, it is a white and gold solid color, so the light does not through the glass. 5 Stars for this Nivea, great way to protect the oil. The oil is in a 30ml dropper bottle, and the dropper is long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle, so much easier to get the oil at the bottom of the bottle. The packing looks modern and classy being gold and white. The ingredients in the oil natural Q10 – skins natural anti-aging defence, Organic Argan – one of my favourite oils, Tocopherol - Vitamin E, just to name a few. These make for an oil that has a lot of slip. Now to the oil, it is a“Wet Oil”, the packing has 3 drops – mask treatment, 2 drops for deep care, 1 drop for glow boost. so that is how I used it. The first time I used it I applied 3 drops, on my finger tips and massaged it in, wow it felt very heavy, (maybe my skin is not as dry as I thought). I left it on for about 45 minutes then cleansed it off and applied the Replenishing Day Cream, even though it was night. My face felt extremely soft and nourished. I found that 2 drops was plenty for my face and neck, theoil goes a long way. I made sure I applied it at least an hour before before bed time, this gives the oil time to penetrate and doesn’t end up on your pillow case. I am going to pop this one away for use during winter as my skin does get a lot drier during the colder months. Overall I like the oil, it is nourishing for my skin, affordable and love the packaging

I was a part of the Nivea Q10 Power Anti Wrinkle + Replenishing Day Cream for Mature Skin. Q10 is present in every skin cell, the cream works to help to protect from your face and neck drying out and over time to improve the overall texture and firmness on your face and neck. The cream has Organic Argan Oil, which is rich in fatty acids and Creatine – an organic acid – which helps with firming. The cream has an SPF15, (which I think would be better if it was 30SPF) and there is 50ml of cream in an elegant gold and white jar. The fragrance is very subtle, which is gone in a few seconds, something that I like. This is a very lightweight cream that absorbs extremely fast on your face, neck, decollete and on the back of your hands. Extremely nourishing and moisturising. I have only used this cream for 3 weeks (as a trial), I will continue to use up the jar to gauge if there is a reduction in my wrinkles, (growing old gracefully).
