I was delighted to be chosen for the trial of the TRESemmé Colour Revitalise conditioner thanks to BH and TRESemmé for the opportunity. I visit a hairdressers every 7-8 weeks ever since I stopped colouring my own hair about 4 years ago. The upkeep for that was too much. I have light brown, colour treated hair with blonde highlights and am usually disappointed by the time the 8 weeks are up that my hair looks very ready for a colour and root touch up. Which is why I’m glad the arrival of the TRESemmé conditioner. Together with the shampoo this product arrived unfortunately having leaked considerably in the parcel, due to the lid being loose and not the pump attachment. A large 940ml white plastic bottle with a pump lid this conditioner contains Vitamin E, Argan Oil and Green tea. I noticed they have changed the appearance of their graphics on their packaging which I like. I used this 2nd daily as I wasn’t looking to wash my hair every day but the bottle does state this it is gentle enough to use daily. After washing with the TRESemmé shampoo I used a small amount - 2 pumps - and distributed the product through my shoulder length hair with the aide of a wide tooth comb. The scent is quite strong but I actually like fragrance in shower and hair products so this didn’t deter me at all. I waited the suggested 2-3 mins and rinsed thoroughly. My hair afterwards felt smooth, free of tangles and easily combed out. Once dry - preferring to air dry, my hair looked shiny and vibrant. Together with the shampoo I was equally impressed at how good my hair looked. I’m looking forward to trialling this straight after my hair appointment in a week as this will truly test it’s lasting power. Having used this conditioner just on 2 weeks, I’m hoping that what results I saw within those 2 weeks will be even better.

I was lucky enough to be selected to trial the TRESemmé Colour Revitalise shampoo thank you BH and TRESemmé. I have light brown, colour treated hair with blonde highlights and regularly visit my hairdresser every 7-8 weeks for a root touch up. I’ve been progressively going grey since my 30’s and keeping the colour vibrancy and shine is something that I prefer considering how many times I visit a salon yearly. I’ve used TRESemmé in the past but usually choose a daily cleansing shampoo, so being able to trial this product was exactly the thing I was interested in. The product arrived in the post with the accompanying conditioner. Both large plastic bottles containing 940mls with a pump lid. Unfortunately both bottles had leaked significantly and I noticed it had come from the screw top being loose rather than the pump. However after that experience I have only good things to say about this shampoo. The bottle is black plastic with a pump lid which I prefer over other lids for ease of use. I noticed a change in the graphics they’ve used on their packaging which I like. The instructions state that it is gentle enough to be used daily however I opted for 2nd daily (I wash my hair about every 3 days so decided to increase that to every 2 days). It has Vitamin E, Argan Oil and Green Tea, contains no parabens, alcohol or dyes. This shampoo is lovely to use, only requiring a few pumps for my shoulder length and straight hair. It lathers well (contains SLS) which I don’t mind in my shampoo products and rinses well. The smell is strong however, again that isn’t a negative thing for me. I do enjoy certain scents with my hair care products and the smell lasted for a good while afterwards. I could still smell a faint scent in my hair the 2nd day. It leaves my hair with a nice sheen and I must say that it doesn’t strip colour as much as other shampoos that I’ve used. I’ve been using this just on 2 weeks and I’m due for a touch up in a week, I’m happy to say that the colour has not faded as fast as it usually does. The real test will be when I use it straight after my appointment until the next one, so yes I will continue to use this.

I received the Clinique Smart Clinical Repair Wrinkle Correcting Serum from BH as part of a trial. I was sent a full sized 50ml product to trial which came in Clinique’s signature coloured box. I want to preface this review by saying my skin had been suffering for a while due to external stressors in my life. I rarely have problems with my skin usually combination/normal with a rare blemish here and there, however at this stage my skin was a mix of dry, dehydrated, and oily in the T-zone area. I was experiencing quite a few painful spots on my chin that weren’t going away. My skin appeared dull and lacklustre. Then this product arrived on my doorstep and what perfect timing, after trialling this for just on 3 weeks twice a day with no expectations, it has been a life saver for my skin issues. I just turned 50 a couple of months ago and have fine lines around my eyes and some deep set expression lines on my forehead and at the end of this trial I have seen a softening of these lines, especially on my forehead. I am almost sure that this product has worked so effectively and quickly that I’m noticing a huge difference in my skin’s texture, firmness and overall appearance. Housed in a purple glass jar with a pump lid, this creamy textured serum has no scent and absorbs into the skin quickly leaving no residue. Containing a blend of Peptides, pure Retinoid and Hyaluronic Acid it promises to repair, resurface and replump the skin with visible results in 10 days. I can definitely attest to this. It sits well under moisturiser and SPF (essential while using this product) with no pilling and it has no effect on my makeup (light coverage is my go-to). At night I apply it after cleansing and toning and before a night cream. It is non greasy and my skin feels softer and more plump. I have had no reactions to it as it is quite a mild serum and I believe it would be suitable for any skin type. I have used Clinique on and off for over 20 years, but in the last few I have been seeking out cheaper options due to budgeting. At a high price point this serum is something that I would save up for and repurchase as I am highly impressed with the results. It’s actually a pleasure to use and I would highly recommend it.

I was lucky enough to trial the Nivea Naturally Good Anti Age Night Cream together with the day cream version. This review is for the night cream. The packaging is a white box with floral designs and the Nivea blue coloured accent. It is made with Organic Burdock Extract and Argan Oil and claims to be made of 99% natural origin and 1% additional ingredients. Upon opening the box a little message on the tabs with a drawing of the Burdock plant is a nice thought. However I was surprised they didn’t extend this idea onto the dark blue plastic jar. Just a small detail would have made a bigger difference in my opinion. Being quite plain and sitting on the shelf doesn’t conjure up “natural aesthetic” vibes, but I won’t be taking points off for that - just an observation. The cream comes in a dark blue plastic jar with a screw top lid and freshly sealed with foil. NIVEA is embossed on the top and the date of expiry is easy to read. However none of the ingredients are written on the jar so if you need to refer to these then you’d have to keep the box. This product is a white, medium thick cream that is quite heavily fragranced - floral like - but the scent dissipates after a while. I don’t mind fragrance in my skin care but those that can’t tolerate it probably won’t like this. This night cream sits well over my other skin care serums and in the morning I feel that my skin is nice and hydrated. I note that in the addition of Argan Oil, this cream also has Almond Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Sheabutter - so definitely moisturising. My skin likes this product and has not had one reaction to it which it can do with other Nivea products that have been too rich. I’d be happy to repurchase this product and the cost is quite tempting. I do prefer my moisturisers to come in a pump bottle due to the sterility of the product but that is a small negative.

I was chosen to trial the Naturally Good Anti-Age day cream by Nivea - thank you BH and Nivea. It is packaged in a white box with floral designs and a gold accent and when opened it has a lovely little message on the tabs “Inspired by nature to bring out the beauty of your skin” which I thought was a nice touch. It states it is made from Organic Burdock Extract and has ingredients of 99% from natural origin and 1% additional ingredients. The 50ml plastic jar inside has a white screw top lid and a frosted white base. To be honest I wasn’t expecting the jar to be so bland after the box was adorned with floral designs, but that is a minute observation and nothing to complain about. There is a foil seal on the jar which I like as it means this product remains fresh. The cream has a medium texture to it - not as thick as other Nivea creams I’ve used but is still a little on the heavier side for my liking as a day cream. However, this cream sits beautifully over serums, as well as under makeup and didn’t appear to make my skin any oilier than it usually can get after a long day. The scent is floral and a bit strong at first but dissipates after a while. Those that don’t get on well with fragrance in their products probably won’t like this. I, for one don’t mind fragrance as long it’s nice and not too strong. This sits well within the range of what I like. Claims of visibly reducing lines and wrinkles in 2 weeks is a long stretch in my opinion. I’ve been using this in conjunction with the night cream and I haven’t seen a remarkable difference in my skin after using it for just over 4 weeks but my skin likes it and I’ve not had any reactions to it so that is a win in my books. If I was going to give a negative it would be the packaging. I just prefer moisturisers in pump bottles rather than a jar but I’d happily repurchase this cream and at a good price point too it won’t break the bank.

’ve been using this product for a few years now and it has become a staple in my bathroom. I use this on my upper lip - I have a few darker hairs there and this lightens them in no time and lasts a good while. It comes with a small bottle of cream bleach, cream activator, a spatula and a cup to mix it in. Follow the instructions and after about 10 minutes just wipe the mixture off. I have never had any issues using this but I don’t suffer from sensitive skin so those that do should patch test first. I like how you can mix it yourself and use straight away even though it can be a bit fiddly the results are what matter to me. I'm always repurchasing this.

I purchased this as I was interested in getting a few products to try from Innisfree. This cleansing gel comes in a light blue plastic bottle with a pump lid (tip: don’t throw away the plastic guard on the lid as this will be handy when travelling). The almost clear gel has a watery consistency which I was not expecting and smells fresh, pine-like, I like the scent but it may not be to everyone’s liking. The instructions say to apply a pump on dry skin and massage to remove makeup. I’m so used to an oil cleanser that I thought this product would have more slip than it did. It felt like I needed to add water to it to achieve a more thorough job but I persisted with it as instructed to get a proper verdict. It removes makeup fine, not as well as some oil cleansers I’ve tried. I rinse it off with water as removing it with a wet muslin cloth didn’t remove all of it and left some residual product on my skin. I’ll finish the product but I don’t think I’ll repurchase it just for the fact that I prefer an oil cleanser and this product isn’t suited to my skin type.

I was looking for a new night cream and prefer a rich moisturiser for night time. I came across this night cream from Garnier Organics for half price so thought I’d give it a go. It comes in a sturdy glass jar with screw lid and the cream is a light purple colour, aesthetically pleasing as the scent of Lavender is instant when you open the jar. I am one of those people who love having fragrance in their products and this just hits the mark. I have combination to normal skin edging on the dry side lately and this product is very suitable for my skin. I’m using Retinol of a night and layering this moisturiser over the top just allows my skin to feel protected and cushioned if that makes sense. Not to mention the scent of Lavender is perfect for a wind-down before bed. I am so happy with this product that I will definitely be repurchasing it.

Having received a travel size bottle of this shampoo I was eager to start using it. First of all the smell is so refreshing and as they say invigorating that when I used this in the mornings it felt like it had helped wake me up! Beautiful scent of rosemary & mint, although the mint is definitely the stronger of the two. I have medium type hair but I do have blonde foils and I think with this shampoo, it made my hair a little drier. I wouldn’t use it daily due to this and I found that I had to use more conditioner than I usually do. Topped up with a leave-in conditioning mist so my hair didn’t have that “crunchy” feeling. It felt like a very clarifying shampoo so if I felt that I had a lot of product build up in my hair then this might come in handy. Such a shame that it didn’t work for me as I really was looking forward to using this.

I was lucky enough to be able to trial the Shea Moisture purple rice water hair mask from the Best in Beauty trial. This product comes in an 8oz (equates to 227g) tub with a screw-top lid. It is a light purple colour with a beautiful floral scent made up of wild orchid and sweet violet extract. The scent seems to last a while after using which I love. I have blonde foils in my hair and they can appear dry and brittle on most days with a little brassiness thrown in. After using this product there was definitely a huge difference. After washing my hair, I scooped a generous amount to my shoulder-length hair and left on for the recommended 5 minutes. After rinsing, my hair felt so soft and smooth. Once I’d styled it, it remained soft throughout the day and I’ve noticed the brassiness has been toned down all while keeping the colour. There are no Parabens, Phthalates, Petrolatum, or Mineral oil in this product. This brand is cruelty-free, organic, uses fair trade shea butter, and has an inspiring story that started with their Grandmother. It’s a brand I’ve not heard of before but I’m so impressed with this that I’ll be looking out for other products of theirs.
