Thank you for allowing me to participate in Beautyheaven’s 2022 Biggest Beauty Giveaway Trial Team! Manicare Contour Roller Set was so exciting to receive. I am a massive fan of gadgets for my skincare routines. I love trying everything I can get my hands on. This facial roller set is great quality for the price and is consistent with all of the Manicare branded products I’ve tried so far. This is quite pretty to look at (in my opinion). This contour roller set is energised by 1 x AA battery, which does not come in the package. I didn’t have a battery on me for the first week, so I just used it manually, in conjunction with my facial oils and eye creams. In this packaging, you’re supplied with two individual attachments. One is a T-bar shape, nice and thin and is used specifically for the delicate eye area. Just ensure you have enough eye product applied, so the T-bar doesn’t drag the skin. The roller attachment is suitable for larger areas of the face like cheeks, jaw lines and along the neck. Again, ensure that you have applied your facial oil before using rollers, so you don’t drag the facial skin. When using these attachments, everything should be done in order, starting at your neck, moving upwards to the forehead, using a gentle upward and outward motion at the jaw line and cheeks, moving onto the under-eye area, moving outward and upward towards the temples, then upward strokes on the forehead. Every step is directed to be completed using 8-12 strokes, I find this much takes too long, so I limit myself to 6-7 swipes each movement. When the battery is installed, the sonic vibrations can be turned on, via the on/off twist action on the bottom of the contour roller. The vibrations are gentle and feel amazing…. It would feel even better if someone else was doing it for me…haha, but, it’s still a relaxing part of my night-time skincare routine. I’ve not noticed any major differences on my neck, jaw line, cheeks. I have noticed my eyes look less puffy.

Thank you for allowing me to participate in Beautyheaven’s 2022 Biggest Beauty Giveaway Trial Team! Manicare Exfoliating Back Scrubber was on my Christmas wish list. I had seen other brands advertised on TV and knew it was something I wanted. I have suffered with bursas in my shoulders for the past 10 years or so and find it very difficult to wash my back. I was so excited when I pulled this out of the box of products. I took it upstairs that night for my shower. The back scrubber is made of certified recycled polyester which is the perfect material for exfoliating skin, removing dead skin and clearing pores. The white handles are made with organic cotton yarn that is also free from dyes. I found that using my body wash on the back scrubber section didn’t work properly, the body wash would mostly just wash off under the shower. I also did have problems using the back scrubber due to my shoulder bursas. I struggled to get a reach of the handles. I did end up being able to use it in some way, not sure if it was the right way or backwards, no matter which, it felt amazing. I wish someone could do it for me so I could relax and enjoy. It has removed my dead skin and left my back and upper arms feeling nice and soft. If I could change anything about this product, it would be the size. I think it would be much easier to use efficiently if the recycled polyester part was double the width.

I have never applied false lashes, so I wasn’t that excited about trialling these eyelashes. Although, to look at, I really loved the look of these lashes and if I could wish my lashes to look like any, I’d choose these for sure. If you are one who likes applying false lashes, then this product is definitely for you. The pack comes with everything one will need. Including a 2pk of Ardell Light As Air 521 eye lashes and a bonus Duo Clear Adhesive. The lashes have an ‘Invisiband’ for a seamless look and comfortable wear. I am not the best person to provide a product review for this. I set myself up with pack, mirror, good lighting, hair pulled back and tweezers, just in case. I followed the instructions, which said to apply a very thin layer of the adhesive to the lash rim, waiting 30 secs for the adhesive to set and then pressing lashes onto my lash line. Easy to say!!! I did nothing but make a mess of my eyes. They ended up red, with eye lashes in my eye, in pain. If you are adept at applying these lashes, then I’d recommend these. Great for a night out or any time you want to naturally dramatise your lashes.

Thank you for allowing me to participate in Beautyheaven’s 2022 Biggest Beauty Giveaway Trial Team! Bio Oil Skincare Oil Natural comes in a generous 200ml bottle. It’s packaged in the same plastic bottle as the original Bio Oil and is the same colour and scent. I don’t mind the scent. I’ve used the original Bio Oil for 20+ years but was super excited to see that Bio Oil had delivered a natural version of their HG product. I used this a few nights just with the oil itself but found that my skin just had too much oily residue left over. So, I then started adding the oil into a moisturiser, combining and then applying. I found this was a much ‘cleaner’ way of applying and I no longer ruined the lounge suite. This natural version is made using vitamin rich ingredients and plant oils. Helping the appearance of scars is one of the main areas this product sells itself around. I have numerous scars over my arms and legs from my kitty cat’s claws. So, I did ensure to rub-in specifically on these areas. After 4-5 weeks of using this oil, I haven’t noticed a change in any of the scarring on my skin. Although, it does a nice enough job of hydrating my arms and legs. I love that this oil is vegan friendly, paraben free, colourant free, and suitable for sensitive skin also.

Thank you for allowing me to participate in Beautyheaven’s 2022 Biggest Beauty Giveaway Trial Team! Toni & Guy Leave-In Conditioner comes in a soft, squeezy, 100ml bottle that has a flip-top lid. The lid is flat, which makes storage easy as the bottle can stand up and due to gravity, the product inside works its way down to the lid area, leaving little room for any product wastage. I am a massive fan of leave-in conditioners, and I use one after every hair wash. I need it, my hair is naturally dry, curly, but dreadfully frizzy. First thing I noticed when I dispensed the conditioner, was the scent. It was not a nice scent, it reminded me of chemical toilet spray. Next, I noticed the viscosity of the conditioner, which was runny, in my experience, this usually means that the product will be no good. But I left my mind open. I applied a 50c size into my palm rubbed my hands together and then started finger combing the conditioner through my hair from roots to ends, as my frizz and dry hair goes all the way, not just mid-length to roots. I could tell the product wasn’t going to work then, as every time I combed my fingers through my hair, I hit knots. This stuff was actually tangling my hair. I then let my hair air-dry, as usual. The leave-in made my hair dry super-fast and it immediately frizzed. I could do nothing with it except put it all up. Not the result I look for in a leave-in.

John Plunketts SuperLift Face Lift Serum is a 1% retinol serum, which means that I used this 2-3 times a week due to the strength of retinol as an ingredient. Other active ingredients include Dermaxyl (combination of ceramides and hexapeptide that reverses dry skin and combats wrinkles), Vitamin E (Antioxidant vitamin that helps neutralise environmental stress and helps skin retain natural moisture), and Hyaluronic Acid (fights against sun or environmental damaged skin including dehydration, wrinkles, sagging, dullness and discolouration plus plumps and hydrates the skin). You need to remember when using a retinol product, that you wear an SPF when in the sun. My skin had no adverse reactions at all. Usually, my facial skin will sting a tad when introducing a retinol product into my skincare routine, but I have just recently finished using a different branded retinol serum, so my skin was prepped and ready. The product comes in a handy pump dispenser bottle. I love this way of dispensing as it’s airtight and keeps the active ingredients inside fresh. The pump dispenser metes out the perfect amount of serum. I use this of a night as directed, and apply 2-4 pumps to cover my face, neck, decolletage and back of hands. I use this after my cleanser and toner and before my moisturiser. I apply by massaging serum into my skin. It absorbs beautifully. After using for a couple of weeks, I can see that my skin looks brighter, and my texture is lovely and smooth. I think I’ve seen a small improvement in my main wrinkles, but I need to keep on using it to know definitively. I am not convinced that it’s worth the selling price, considering the bottle is only a meagre 15ml. With me using 2-4 pumps every couple of nights, the bottle won’t last me long.

Kiehl's Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum is not the first retinol product I’ve used, but it would be up there with the best retinol products I’ve used. The first thing I looked at when I received this, was the ingredients list, to check out where retinol sat. I know it’s main claim is ‘retinol’ but this ingredient actually sits quite far down the list. This means that the further down the ingredients list an ingredient sits, the lesser amount compared to other ingredients there is. The niacinamide and hyaluronic acid make up more of this powerhouse serum. The pump applicator made for easy dispensing, with the perfect amount of product. The serum is a yellow shade, and it has a lovely, subtle, fragrance that does not offend my senses. Previous experience with retinol products, has taught me that this product can only be used 2-3 times a week at most, any more than this and your skin may have adverse reactions, as retinol is a strong ingredient. Application of the serum came after my cleansing and toning, the liquid was a lovely texture, melting into my face, neck, decolletage and back of hands. It absorbed well, leaving no residue whatsoever. I used this once a day, as part of my nighttime routine, I followed this with my facial moisturiser and facial oil. I made sure to focus on specific areas that I really wanted to work on, like my crow’s feet, fine under eye wrinkles, my ‘11’s and marionette lines. The first two applications, the skin on my face tingled quite a bit, although it didn’t show any major redness or irritation. Usually when using a retinol product, using an SPF when outdoors is essential. My third application onwards left no adverse reactions whatsoever, my skin enjoyed the serum. My skin felt immediately soft like velvet upon application, and I found my moisture retention definitely improved. After 5 weeks of usage, I can honestly say that my 11’s have improved noticeably, my marionette lines showed a subtle change, which I’m hoping will keep changing with ongoing use. My crow’s feet looked smoother and plumper, my under-eye area wrinkles decreased in number. The back of my hands gained maybe 8 years, they really looked smooth, clear and younger. I love that the serum is mineral oil free, paraben free, phthalate free and fragrance free. It’s made with recyclable packaging. Sensitive skin suitable.

Du'it Tough Shield Sanitising Hand Cream is such a relevant product for this day and age, with the winter Flu and Covid variants sneakily doing the rounds. Since Covid started, 3 years ago, I have taken to using a hand sanitiser as often as I remember, and I have the sanitisers laying everywhere. Dui’it’s hand sanitiser is a real game changer. Not only is it alcohol free, but it also kills 99.9% germs, while having moisturising abilities. This is a saving grace. My hands have become so dry using the alcohol sanitisers. The moisture capabilities of this sanitiser do leave my hands feeling really soft and hydrated, yet it doesn’t leave any greasy feeling, absorbing the product well. I love the handy pack size, 75g. The perfect size to chuck in my handbag. The tube is squeezy and comes with a flip-top lid. The tube sits upright on the lid, which allows all of the product inside to fall downward towards the lid, decreasing wastage. It’s a plus not needing to sanitise my hands using water, making this product definitely one of convenience. After application, my hands are left feeling nice and soft, I know they’re sanitised to fight off germs plus they smell lovely, as the product has a lovely, subtle, fresh, fragrance.

Thank you BH for choosing me as one of the triallers for L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler 2.5% [Hyaluronic Acid + Caffeine] Eye Serum. I was intrigued to try this once I saw the image of the applicator on the box. My first opinion upon viewing the product in its packaging, is that you knew straight away this was a L’Oréal Paris product. Inside the box was a lovely purple glass bottle with a silver twist cap. Once you unscrew the silver cap, you are holding in your fingers, a wand applicator with 3 small metal balls at the end. Upon contact with the skin around and under the eye, the metal balls cool the skin’s surface immediately. The serum itself is quite viscous. I applied the serum to the under-eye area and starting from the inner eye to outer eye, I gently massaged the serum in 4 times. I then applied some to the upper eyelid and massaged in a couple of times, finishing with a soft tapping motion with my ring finger to ensure the serum was completely absorbed. The first time I used the serum, I didn’t do the last step and I found I was left with a slightly tacky residue for ages. But second application, when I finished by tapping in leftover liquid, I was left with a lovely cooling, hydrating effect. I was surprised with how hydrated my eye area felt. After 3 weeks of using twice a day, I have not noticed and changes in my dark circles. I also haven’t noticed any difference in my crow’s feet. I have found that the use of the metal balls did aid in de-puffing my eye area and the skin around my eyes felt lovely and smooth to the touch. I’m not sure I would spend $50 on this eye serum as I didn’t get the results I was hoping for. I also found the 3 metal balls made the wand applicator a little awkward to use. And the serum would come out of the bottle trapped in between the balls, so initial application of serum wasn’t one flawless, smooth movement.

You can't miss that this is a L'oreal product when looking at the cardboard packaging, it's eye-catching, something I've come to expect from L'oreal products. The glass bottle inside is stunning. I love the look of it, plus the darker glass aids in keeping the active serum ingredients inside fresh. I am 52 and my skincare routine happens morning and night and includes at least, if not more than 5 products. I slipped this gorgeous serum in after my cleanse, tone, mask(every 2-3 nights), essence, and before my moisturiser, facial oil and eye cream. It worked very well with the current brands I'm using, there was no balling of products on my skin. The glass bottle comes with a dropper lid, which was the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. My dropper didn't work properly inhaling the serum, so I had to use the dropper a few times to get enough serum for my face. The serum is a lovely consistency, and although it's described as lightweight, my super-dry skin found the liquid really hydrating, which makes or breaks a product for me, I need the hydration and moisturisation. L'oreal's Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum spread easily over the surface of my skin and I could immediately feel the hydrating effects, the firming effects and the smoothing effects. The serum left my face feeling like velvet. It had a nice scent to it too, which is also a plus. This trial allowed me to trial the serum for 3-4 weeks, which gave me the time to try it out with my other products and to trial it on my face. I hate providing feedback on a product when I've only been given a week or two to use. I didn't experience any negative effects using this. I love discovering new beauty products, so always have a few of each product on the go at one time but I actually think I will purchase this once it runs out, I am that impressed with it. Thanks L'oreal for a gorgeous serum that helps my skin look it's best.
