As someone who often suffers from dry skin and eczema, I was excited to try the Tough Body lotion by Du’it. The product comes in a convenient 300ml pump bottle, with the Du’it branding in bold blues and yellows. While this packaging is quite striking and stands out on the supermarket shelf, I do find it a little masculine and my kids have confused it for sunscreen a few times when it has been on the bench at home. The lotion itself is white and a little watery in consistency, which can be a little messy at the pump. Upon application the lotion gives off a subtle scent, which is nice, but has a slight medical undertone. The product feels slick during application, and takes a little work to rub in and absorb. This is where the product has me on the fence. While the lotion definitely feels moisturising, and with each application gives good results on the drier areas of my skin, I can’t get past the residual chalky feeling it leaves on my hands and skin. I find this hard to remove from my hands and quite uncomfortable and almost drying, akin to sunscreen residue or zinc. My husband, who is a mechanic and often uses the Du’it Tough Hands cream also tried the Tough Body lotion and remarked the same about the residue although was less bothered by it. Overall the product is effective in treating and reducing dry skin, and offers a pleasant scent, I’m not sure I would purchase again compared to similar products on the market that provide these outcomes and a barrier on the skin without the chalky feeling.

I was offered to trial this conditioner alongside the matching shampoo. The product itself comes packed in a clear amber coloured bottle, which is flexible and squeezable. The conditioner itself is thick and creamy in appearance and texture, and gives a subtle scent of apple when first applied to the hair. I have fine hair, with a natural wave and often greasy roots by drier ends. Many conditioners sot heavy in my hair and cause my hair to clump or appear damp. This conditioner did none of that. The condition per was lightweight and didn’t leave any residue, which allowed for long lasting moisture and shine. Over extended use I found my hair slightly softer, but would have liked to see better shine results. I would also say that even with the fine nature of my hair and at shoulder length, I felt I used a lot of this product compared to the shampoo, which is unusual for me. Overall I liked the conditioner, but definitely would like a better shine result and a better blend for less product waste.

As someone who suffers from oily scalp, but dryer ends I was super excited to give the Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Blend Shampoo. I have a natural wave to my hair, and often use products to either enhance or hide that wave. Extra products means extra build up, and on fine hair that means greasy flat hair! This shampoo is designed to clarify and bring shine to the hair. Package in clear amber bottle, the product is nicely presented and stands out agains other brands. The shampoo itself is clear in colour, and has a soft fruity scent of apple which dilutes as you lather. The product lathers well, and is generous - a little goes a long way. I found that the product worked best when used in smaller doses, emulsified in the hand, and then targeted to the scalp to get a thorough clean. One days where I had extra product build up, I would shampoo twice, which definitely helped. The shampoo absolutely clarifies the hair, however I did find my hair felt rather dry and thirsty if I used the shampoo too often. Overall I found the shampoo did as it claimed, mostly, but I would have liked to see better results from a shine perspective.

I was so exciting to try the new Nivea Naturally Good Range, and could wait to trial a new cleanser. The product came package in a clear pump bottle with green themed labelling boasting all of the wonderful claims this product made. The gel itself was clear in colour, had little to no scent and easily disbursed from the bottle. I found very quickly that half a pump was more than enough. The product lathered sufficiently to spread across my face, and was effective in removing makeup. Unfortunately, this is where the product stopped for me. I found my skin to feel extremely tight and thirsty once the product was rinse from my skin. Over the few days I used the product, each was felt more drying and the product seemed to create friction when rubbing into my skin. By day three, my cheeks had broken out in severe acne and dry patches which was all very painful. I was unable to continue using the product and am still recovering.

I was excited to try Du’it Tough Lips as my husband uses other products in the range and has had great results. I have also been looking for a product that can stand up to the effects that wearing a face mask all day at work has had on my lips. The product was packaged in fair standard packaging, cardboard backing with a plastic case, holding the tube of lip balm. The overall product design and branding is distinctive to the product and easy recognisable, all be it a little masculine. The product itself is plain in colour and scent and applies easily to the lips with little to no drag, which is great on tender sore skin. Once applied, the product feels smooth an fit not too sticky or tacky. However, I personally found the product to have a strange taste similar to that of sunscreen, which was not pleasant and would deter me when choosing against other products on the market. The product is well priced at $4.95 and in line with my expectations for a product of this nature. The lip balm itself gave good results over the week I used it, and I noticed a positive change in the condition of my lips and felt they were well protected.

Wow! What an eye cream! I am usually one who find eye creams far to heavy or irritating for my sensitive skin, and so I was quite skeptical when asked to trial this particular product. I have been noticing fine lines and puffiness around my eyes since the birth of my second child, and was hopeful that this product would help relieve some of that. The product itself came packaged in a small pot. While this does make application of the product easier, I do question how hygienic this is over time and wonder if a pump or tube would be better suited. The cream itself is true to form, and is completely fragrance free. The consistency is thick, but not greasy, and a small amount of product goes a long way. Upon application, the cream has a deeply nourishing feeling and is quite luxurious. I used this product each night before bed, and my skin felt soft and moisturised. I have definitely seen an improvement in not only the fine lines around my eyes but the puffiness is noticeably less each morning. A beautiful product for the price.

Since the birth of my second child I have been noticing fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes, forehead and neck. I have been in search of a product that is light weight, easy to use and fragrance free, and boy did this one deliver! The serum came packaged in true a metallic silver and purple packet. The bottle itself houses a unique dosing system, which supplies the perfect amount of product. The serum itself is white in colour and truly is fragrance free. The feel to the skin is light, yet moisturising, and a little goes a long, long way. Unlike other serums I have tried, there is no tacky feel, nor is there any oily residue. Over the trial period I used this product each night before bed. I have seen a reduction in the fine lines around my eyes in particular, and have not since any new lines or wrinkles appear in this time. My skin feels firmer, and I have even had compliments on my complexion! I will absolutely continue to use this product.

I love scalp scrubs! I have a particularly dry scalp and end up with dandruff and find scrubs a great treatment, so I was excited to try this product. The product came packaged in a beautiful white and teal tube. Upon opening I found the scent of peppermint subtle but pleasant. Unfortunately that’s where my excited ended. The product was extremely thick and hard to disburse for the tube. I found the scrub thick and the salt too large to evenly apply and use on my scalp. I also found some of the larger pieces painful on sensitive areas. The product did lather a little, bit both enough to move around my scalp easily. The one upside was the soothing element of the peppermint itself, which did provide some relief in dryer areas. I feel this scrub would be better with a finer scrub element for easier use. Overall not my favourite scrub and I wouldn’t purchase again.

When I received the Grow Anti Breakage Hair Mask I was so excited. My hair has been extremely dry and brittle since the birth of my second child and I needed some help. The product came packaged in a beautiful white and teal sachet, with a screw top — perfect for multiple uses. Disbursing the product was easy and required little effort, and the screw top meant no mess between uses. The product itself felt creamy but not too thick, which is great for my thinner hair. I did find that the product didn’t feel overly moisturising during application and I found myself applying more product than I anticipated. The scent smelled pleasant and botanical at first but I found the odour changed upon contact with my hair was almost medical in scent. I did see a slight improvement in the condition of my hair over the trial period, however I still have breakage, which could be hormonal.

I was super excited to try the Grow volumising Dry Shampoo. The product arrive package in a beautiful white and Cora pink pump pack. I had used many dry shampoos in the past, mostly sprays or powder shakers, and had not come across this type of pump pack before. The pump produced the perfect amount of product for one section of hair. Unfortunately that’s where the fun stopped for me. The powder itself was impossible to dispense without sending a cloud of product through the air, coating everything in its path. I tried direct application to the scalp and ended up covering my face and top in excess powder. I then tried application to my hand and still found the product puffed out and over my clothing and countertop. The product itself worked well in my hair once applied, however required several pumps to get enough coverage. I found I wasted more product than I used and was sadly disappointed. I feel this product would be better suited as a powder shaker or spray.
