Thank you so much for letting me be part of this trial, bh and Remington! It was such fun. Moving onto the review, I was stoked to be able to take part in this trial because I recently got a new hair cut (above the shoulder length) and I've been actively looking for styles to wear it in. The tong itself is light and heats up super quickly, like we're talking about it only taking 30 seconds to get to 200C! It has a digital display so it's easy to read. I found when I tried sitting it down it would often fall over from its little in-built stand, so if you're worried about it burning something, you may need to get a heat mat. I haven't used a curling tong for ages and I feel it's definitely a product you need regular practice with. By the end of the trial week using the curling tong, I was able to get a few decent curls, but I think there are two things stopping me from getting "perfect curls" with the main thing being my own inexperience and general cack-handedness. The second thing is the size of the barrel of the curling tong - it think it's too big for hair above the shoulder. I could get one curl in a length of hair but not the two or three I had hoped for - I will still be trying, though! Also, I found it hard to use the tong behind my head as the whole thing heats up, including the tip. So there's nowhere to stable my hand holding the handle - I found this out with a few burns to the fingers! I have read about a heat glove that people may like to buy to stop their fingers getting burnt. I think what would have helped me is if there was a link to a Remington website in the manual so I can see how to use the curling tong properly - and if they could do it for different hair lengths that would be great! As the how-to part of the manual really didn't explain how to use the curling tong that well and I ended up Googling it and finding another brand's guide. Finally, I thought the pouch was a great idea until I used it. It's like it's just two pieces of fabric sewn together without any thought to the size of the curling tong to be stored in it. You really need to shove it in and then do the same for the cord/plug. It doesn't do up (for me anyway) once it's all in.

The Rimmel London Wonder’Care Lash & Brow Serum is the best lash/brow serum I've used. I love that it's for both lashes and brows and I also love the application tool. At the end of the wand is a handy little brush that makes applying serum (especially to eyebrows) super easy. The product itself is a good amount of "stickiness" and doesn't run into my eyes. Also, it lasts for ages and I like that the tube is see-through so I can see how much product is left. I've really noticed a difference in my brows and eyelashes! Would definitely recommend.

I've really loved trialling the Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm Cream. I've not used the old formulation, but I had heard great things, so when I was invited to take part in the revamped formulation trial, I just had to put my hand up! The product itself is a white cream-like substance, I wouldn't really call it a balm? It applies very evenly and a little goes a long way because it is slightly runny. It literally smells like nothing. Effectiveness-wise, I can certainly vouch for it as I had a very unfortunate glycolic acid burn (used too much) and this helped my skin heal evenly and quickly. Plus adding it to the burn didn't inflame it further. The packaging is a tube, which is very convenient for squeezing out every last bit of product. Not overly happy with it being only 40ml in size - for the price point I do expect more. I definitely recommend this. Oh, and I think it would be great on children's skin as a moisturiser.

I've given the Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel so many tries now I've lost count. I don't know if it's just me, or if it's the product, but there's something about the texture of the product that doesn't work. It goes on fine - spreads well - but then is runny and just stays runny. I don't feel it absorbing at all. And because it's runny, you can't clothes over it. I tried it as a lip balm but it also didn't work as it just was far too runny! I think maybe if there was ever a reformulation I would give it another go, but for now I wouldn't recommend.

I bought this when it was released in its old (original) packaging - the No7 Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex Night Concentrate. Now as Pure Retinol 0.3% Retinol Night Concentrate, it's the same product, just a name change. I use it every second night and find it to be quite gentle for a retinol, probably because it's 0.3%. I really like the packaging and the pump mechanism means that you always get the right amount. I find the inclusion of Matrixyl 3000+ also nice and I appreciate having peptides in the formula to add to the anti-wrinkle effectiveness. I really like this retinol and would recommend if you're after a gentle formula.

Look, this product did what it needed to do, but I don't think it's that great. I found once I applied it, it flaked and smudged far too easily. I didn't use on my lower lashes (never do) and the wand is so massive that it was hard to apply to my top lashes. Luckily, I only bought this mascara when I was in a tight spot so didn't have to use it for long and have since destashed it. There are better mascaras out there for waaaay cheaper, from brands like essence or W7. Go for one of those as I don't recommend this one.

I was reading all the other reviews of this sunscreen and I'm surprised none of them mention the terrible white cast this sunscreen gives! But the reviews are a little older so maybe the formula has changed? I'm pink/pale and it even made me look like a ghost! I don't know which ingredient is the culprit. I didn't really find it that moisturising, either. In fact, I find this sunscreen very thick and leaning more on the greasy side. I'll use up the rest of this on my body but certainly NOT my face. Very disappointing.

So I bought this brush a day before it went on special at Priceline which was really annoying for me but - that aside - this is a pretty decent brush. I bought it because I like to use an angle brush for applying blush, it just seems to me to be an easier way to keep the blush higher up on my cheeks. An issue for me though is some of the bristles have seemed to creep down into the handle and I can't pull them back up. So that's a bit annoying! However it doesn't seem to affect the use of the brush so that's lucky. All in all I would recommend.

If I could give The Jojoba Company Ultimate Serum four and a half stars I would. The reason it's not a full five stars is because I find it a bit slippery on my skin and it takes longer than I expect to absorb. I had a sample size which had a pipette instead of a pump and I found it very tricky to use for some reason, so I think the pump would work much better. The serum has a lovely smell and when the serum does finally absorb, I like the way it feels on my skin. I found the serum more hydrating than firming and would use it just for this effect.
