I enjoyed the small of this: it’s bracing and fresh. That said, it also seems to dissipate enough that it didn’t clash with any other products. This scalp scrub is a little thicker than others I’ve used, but that meant less ending up slopping down the drain, so I’d call it a plus. If you find it a little hard to move it through your hair, I found a scalp massager made it easier. It left my scalp feeling fresher and cleaner, and didn’t gum up my hair. It seemed that my shampoo and conditioner were both just a little more effective after I’d used this. This is a product I’d buy again.

This is an interesting product – the texture seems very different depending on the shade of the product. I was sent a lightish shade and a much darker shade. The darker shade was much creamier and easier to spread across my skin. The lighter shade was better for me as a foundation, but because the texture was drier, it was a little difficult to use this way. (I tried the darker color although it was a dreadful shade for me as foundation – it definitely spread and blended far more easily.) As a foundation, this works pretty well. Although I had difficulties with the texture of the lighter shade, it was ultimately effective. I wouldn’t want to use it as a foundation on a regular basis, but if you’re travelling and looking for solid make up products rather than liquid, I’d give this a tick. It also worked well as a concealer and/or a highlighter with a different foundation. I tried a bit of contouring with the darker shade – I’m not very skilled with this technique, but I found it relatively easy with the Lifter Stix. The darker shade blended very easily and wound up being subtler than I’d expected when I applied the initial swipe. So this works very well, and consistently, as a concealer, highlighter, or contour stick, depending on which shades you have. Its’ effectiveness as a foundation seems variable, dependent largely on the shade you have. However, frequent travellers in particular might find this worth experimenting with.

One problem with this is that the instructions are printed in white against a pink background. I found it unreadable and had to google the instructions. However, they’re pretty simple and if you take a guess at how to use it, odds are you’ll be right anyway. This is a really nice serum to use – an almost undetectable scent, and lovely silky texture which absorbs quickly. It feels really good on the skin. I haven’t been using it long enough to swear to the long term benefits, but early signs are that it’s making my skin look brighter and feel more moisturized.

This felt a little sticky when it went on, but that feeling faded within a minute or two. It absorbs into the skin pretty quickly, and did a good job of moisturising my hands. My hands are in pretty decent condition, but even so I thought they improved over a week or so of regular use. There was no noticeable aroma, which is unusual for a hand cream, but isn’t a bad thing either. I found it one of those really effective products that’s not at all fancy, but which you want because it really works.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t yet mastered this product. No matter what I do, I wind up with big clown like splotches of color on my face. (It doesn’t help that I was sent an orangey color to trial which doesn’t even remotely suit me.) And yes, I am following the instructions of putting a tiny bit on the back of my hand and then applying it to my face. On the positive side, it’s clear that this is a very intense color. And also that you only need a very very little to go a long way. Even with my disasters I can see that it sits quite lightly on the skin – although my attempts certainly don’t look very natural. I think I might recommend this for people with really good makeup skills. I’m about an average skill level, I’d say, and I just can’t get it to work properly. Also, hot tip: don’t try this product for the first time just before going to parent teacher meetings. Unless you want to be memorable for the wrong reason.

I was given the opportunity to trial the “Red Dahlia” shade. This looks quite dark in the tube, but it’s a buildable color. So initially it goes on quite light, and then darkens with every layer you put on. I found two or three created good coverage and a lovely color that wasn’t too dark. I really liked both the color and the ability to control the intensity. This went on far more smoothly than most lip balms, and felt smooth and shiny (if you can feel shiny) on my mouth. Like a lot of lip balms, this didn’t last all that long, but the color faded more or less evenly. My lips felt better in this than in many lipsticks. So overall: a really good product. The color is great, and controllable. It looks good, feels good, and has a lasting positive effect on your lips. I’ll be buying this in other shades.

I often have trouble with hair dryers, as I have disabilities that make it hard to stand for extended periods, or to keep my arms above my head. This is the first hairdryer I’ve found which really helps with those issues. For a start, the cord is the longest I’ve ever seen on a home hair dryer. It’s long enough that I can sit down and still be able to maneuver the hair dryer easily. I loved this aspect. It’s also really light, and I found it dried my hair really quickly. Both of those made this far easier to use than most hair dryers. The controls were easy to use and understand. I was initially a bit put off by the way it automatically cycles from hot to cold while you’re drying. However, by the end of the first use I loved this feature too. I was not overheated or uncomfortable (which sometimes happens) and yet my hair dried fast. And even when I used the dryer in the crudest way possible – putting it on a high setting, blasting my hair, using no products – my hair dried straighter and with less frizz than usual. It also stayed that way till the next time I washed my hair. This is a top notch hair dryer, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new one. It really makes styling your hair both quicker and easier, and it lasts. Particularly consider it if you have challenges which mean that nice long cord will make the hair dryer more usable for you.

I’m afraid I’m barely competent with most hair styling tools, but I was amazed at how easy this one made it. The results were just streets ahead of anything else I’ve used. First, a big tick for the long cord. I have disabilities and sometimes need to do things like styling my hair while sitting down – the cord lets me do that. Even when on my feet, I found the long cord made the styler much more maneuverable, which was handy given I suspect my technique is lacking. I was surprised by how well it worked on wet hair. It really did dry my hair, and I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was. Sure, a hair dryer is probably a better option for really wet hair. But this was effective. Importantly, of course, it straightened my hair. Wet or dry, the end effect was better than I’ve ever achieved before. And it still looked good the next day – most of the straightening effect had lasted through the night! Freshening the style with the tool was then even quicker and easier. I loved that the outside didn’t feel too hot, which made me much bolder about getting near the roots/ my scalp (which helped improve the style). The heat resistant pad to put it on is a nice touch. The whole tool looks good, too, which is nice even if not essential. My one reservation was that I found the on/off button wasn’t very responsive. I had to press it three or four times to get it to turn off. This could be a problem in some situations. But overall, I think this is a bit fabulous.

I really didn’t like the scent of this cream – I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s vaguely medicinal. It doesn’t hang around for long, but it’s a very noticeable first impression. However, I liked the texture of the cream – it’s not too heavy and absorbs quickly. This was an effective night cream for me. It felt good on my skin, and the next day I thought my skin was still feeling quite moisturised. Over a few days of use, I definitely saw an improvement in my skin. This is an unfussy night cream which seems to focus on delivering an effective shot of moisture. Despite the scent, I liked the cream overall. It’s a product I’ll use again.

This goes on a bit more lightly than some lip balms, and as a result I liked the feel on my lips. It also seemed to last a while, not wearing away too quickly. I found it very comfortable, and effective as a night treatment. There’s no noticeable taste or aroma, which I appreciated. It’s a small, manageable tube which doesn’t dispense too much. I found it easy to use, effective, and just one of those products I didn’t have to think about too hard. This is a straightforward product that does its’ job well, without flourishes.
