As with the Bed Head shampoo that accompanied this conditioner, this is definitely one for those who are not worried by very strong fragrance. Personally, I found the perfume of this product so unpleasant that I initially did not think I could use it. Thankfully, a few hours after my use of the product, the fragrance had subsided to an acceptable level. While the level of conditioning was passable, I didn't feel it delivered the deep conditioning that my dry, curly hair required. That however may have been to do with the fact that the shampoo from the same line had dried my hair excessively which in turn negated the effects of the conditioner. The packaging does the job, however was certainly not of the standard I would expect from a product with a rather high RRP as it was very lightweight and aesthetically unappealing compared to drugstore brands. Overall, both the shampoo and conditioner from this line fell far short of my expectations. I may however continue use the conditioner from time-to-time, as it had some redeeming qualities.

I was looking forward to trialing Bed Head Recovery Shampoo & Conditioner as I had never used any products from this range which is curiously named after a piece of bedroom furniture. As soon as I opened the parcel, my high hopes were dashed when I was hit in the nose by an overwhelming citrus perfume. I actually placed the bottles outside due to the strong fragrance emanating through the plastic bottles. It took me a couple of days to psych myself into using the shampoo, not only due to the unappealing fragrance, but the other components on the top of the ingredient list - Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Dimetheconol and of course, Parfume. This product has apparently been designed to strip the hair and in turn coat it with silicone, so for a middle-aged woman with dry, frizzy hair that is prone to falling out, it was like a literal recipe for disaster. The experience of using this shampoo, as one would expect when using a product with the much SLS, was indeed very 'foamy'. The result was less-than-ideal, with my hair becoming frizzy and very, very dry even though I followed with the accompanying conditioner. Thankfully the fragrance did seem to die down over the new few hours. This product unfortunately was simply not suited to my hair type, or I dare say, my demographic. It may appeal to the very young or those with excessively oily hair.

Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturiser is an interesting product which adheres to the tradition of the original Eight Hour Cream in that it is more of an ointment than a cream. Whist this formula is not as thick as the original recipe, it is very much an occlusive product which forms a protective layer over the skin. The cream itself is light peach in colour, and has a consistency of a very soft butter, that once warmed in the hands, spreads easily across the face and neck. The scent which reminds me more of lanolin is rather strong and tends to linger for a long time. I don't dislike the scent, which I think is reminiscent of something from times gone by....like the fragrance of a product that may have been used in the 1930s. As I said, the cream is purely occlusive and contains no water, so it remains on the surface of the skin and does not absorb. This makes it a fabulous skin protectant in the winter months, but it is something I personally would not reach for in the summer. Whist I always found my skin to be hydrated in the morning whenever I used this cream, I did find quite heavy, so I have been using it more to condition other parts of my body such as my neck, elbows, feet and hands. I enjoy using the product before bed as the feeling and fragrance makes me feel comforted and cozy. I believe this product will appeal to those with dry skin who appreciate old-school skincare favorites such as Nivea Creme, Lancome Nutrix (original) and of course the original EL Eight Hour Cream. If you're looking for protective nighttime hydration, this comforting cream may be the one for you.

I have been using Sukin's Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser on and off since its release, and feel that I keep going back to it as it continues to tick so many boxes for me in an ever-changing beauty market. I have sensitive, maturing skin and find that even other natural cleansers that claim to be gentle can sting my skin if they contain strong essential oils. Although there is Lavender and some citrus oil in the formulation, the scent is barely detectable. The formula is creamy, so to avoid any residue after cleansing, I use a wash cloth to remove the cream after I have applied one pump and massaged by face gently for a few seconds. While I am not a huge fan of pump packaging because it can make using the last remnants of the product tricky, the bottle itself looks lovely with it's pink label, and at 100ml, is a convenient size for travelling. The other things this cleanser (and the entire Sukin range) has in its favour is its easy availability and price. As Sukin has now become a giant in the natural skin and hair care segment of the market, and is now stocked in all major chemist and grocery retailers it is easy to come by, and can be found on special every other week. All-in-all, this product is just super, especially for its price, and it no doubt one I will continue to repurchase for as long as its available.

Having used a number of different make-up remover wipes over the years, but never having settled on a favorite brand, I was keen to try Nivea's new product. In the case of most industry-leading skincare & cosmetic companies it has become the done thing to make a foray into what can be perceived as more 'nature-based' products. While it can never hurt to move into more sustainably sourced products, I have always felt a little like these 'natural' branded products are more about current social and political trends rather that the products themselves being superior in any way based on their "natural goodness". I would have to say that in the case of Nivea's Naturally Good Cleansing Wipes, I experienced this feeling again. While I though the wipes where a good make-up remover, had I've used them without knowing how the product was branded, I wouldn't have necessarily know they were organic or natural. This feeling is based mostly on the fragrance added to the wipes. Whilst not unpleasant, the perfume is strong and lingered on my face well after use. The cloths themselves I would say are thinner and smaller than most other wipes I've used. That of course would be due to their more natural fiber content. In order to obtain a complete clean after wearing a moderate amount of face and eye makeup I felt it necessary to use two wipes in one session, and by the time I was finished I began to feel some stinging on the more sensitive areas of my face around my nose and chin. This probably wouldn't be an issue for most, but my skin is sensitive to a lot of cleansers on the market. In all, I don't dislike this product, but unfortunately it won't be a repurchase for me. There are many Nivea products I love such as Creme, Q10 and the Cellular range, but I haven't had much luck with their cleaners over the years due to my sensitive skin. I would like to thank Nivea and BH for giving me the opportunity to try this product, which I'm sure will be liked by many.

As always I was so pleased to be asked to trial products by Beautyheaven. This trial included three products from Nude by Nature - concealer, foundation brush and the new Luminous Sheers Liquid Foundation. This foundation comes housed in a lovely frosted glass pump bottle with the trademark Nude by Nature rose gold lid. The first thing I noticed about this foundation was that the formula had separated by the time it got to me. The first time I pumped the product a clear oily liquid came from the pump. This though was easily remedied by giving the bottle a good shake. The shade I selected was N1 Shell Beige, which is obviously a light neutral. I actually found the shade to be a little on the orange side but this seemed to tone itself down to a true neutral upon application. I tried three types of application - with the foundation brush provided, with a buffing brush, and by hand. I found that application with the foundation brush disastrous (streaky & uneven), so application by hand was necessary. Even with hand application I was not really happy with the result. I know this is supposed to be a sheer foundation, but even so, the coverage is extremely light - even lighter than a BB or tinted moisturiser. I therefore found that this product did not even my skin out as much as I would have liked. One good thing I would say about the formula is that it didn't exacerbate fine lines. The other thing that stood out in a negative way was the smell of the product. Obviously being a natural formula it doesn't contain any fragrance, however I found the natural aroma less than pleasant. It smelled to me like a slightly stale oily, nutty smell. The aroma tended to linger for quite a while after application which I found off-putting. I really do apologise for a negative review after Nude by Nature and BH were kind enough to invite me onto this trial, but I simply did not find Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation an appealing product. BRAND RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing some challenges. With liquid formulas, slight texture inconsistencies can appear due to changes in temperature or product settling in the bottle. If this occurs, shake and/or mix well before use. This will not affect the performance of the products and the foundation will blend seamlessly into the skin as normal. Regarding the scent, the formula is fragrance free so can have a slightly earthy scent of the natural raw materials, this is normal and should dissipate quickly after application. The Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation does have a light coverage, so we are sorry to hear it wasn’t the coverage you were looking to achieve. It sounds like one of our other foundations would be more suited to your needs, like the Natural Mineral Cover Foundation, it adjusts naturally to skin tones and provides easy, buildable coverage. To assist with application for now, we would recommend using a concealer such as the Perfecting Concealer for any areas requiring additional coverage. Please feel free to contact us directly at customercare@nudebynature.com.au if you have further feedback or require any assistance.

I was delighted to be part of the trial team for three Nude by Nature products - the Perfecting Concealer, Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation and Liquid Foundation Brush. I used all products both in synergy with one another, as well as on their own. Over the years I have tried a few different methods of foundation application including a buffing brush and a beauty 'blender' in a bid to have a flawless foundation coverage. I have however always gone back to applying liquid foundation with my fingers as I have found that other methods tend to exacerbate pores and lines. One method I have never tried was using a more traditional liquid foundation 'paint' brush like the No2 Nude by Nature one sent to me as part of this trial. I have always been aware of the high quality of Nude by Nature brushes as I bought a couple from the range probably ten years ago and they are still in great condition. I was certainly not disappointed by the quality of this foundation brush. It has beautiful soft, silky bristles that have been shaped perfectly for their purpose. The brush looks lovely and is light-weight and comfortable in the hand. The trouble for me though came with the results I received. I used the brush both with the Nude by Nature foundation in this trial, and with one of my regular foundations. With the Nude by Nature foundation the result was disastrous....the coverage was streaky and I seemed to have to use a lot of product to achieve a result that was anywhere near passable. I ended up having to correct the mess with my fingers, which was very time consuming. When I used the brush with my regular liquid foundation the result was better, but the brush seemed to drive the foundation into every pore and line on my face. I'm not sure why it is, but fingers appear to be the only foundation tools that work on my skin! I would say that if you're a fan of foundation brushes and are one of those lucky enough to achieve good results with them, then definitely give this brush a go as I think it's of amazing quality. I'm sure I will end up re-purposing mine for things like face mask application, so thank you Nude by Nature and BH for sending it to me! I would like to thank Nude by Nature and Beauty

I was delighted to be part of the trial team for three Nude by Nature products - the Perfecting Concealer, Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation and Liquid Foundation Brush. I used all products both in synergy with one another, as well as on their own. Nude by Nature Perfecting concealer comes housed in a box (which is always nice) and the product itself is in 5.9ml tube format in the classic Nude By Nature colour of peachy beige and rose gold. I really like the packaging in that it's compact and does not have a 'dip stick' sponge applicator so there is no danger of product contamination. The concealer itself is very buttery on application and is quite different to any other concealer I have ever tried in that it's very obviously (nut) oil-based. It takes some patting to blend, and unfortunately I have found that the patting and blending involved also blends out the pigment, which results in very little actual coverage. That has lead me to give this product a low rating as, for me personally this product didn't really do what it is supposed to. On a positive note, I found that this concealer worked well over fine lines and did not exacerbate their appearance. I can definitely see that Nude by Nature Perfecting Concealer would appeal to women who exclusively prefer all-natural products, and those with very mild skin inconsistencies that require light coverage. As much as I love using nature-based skin products, unfortunately I am someone with typical middle-aged skin that requires pigmentation coverage so I would always select a concealer based on function rather than form. I would like to thank Nude by Nature and Beautyheaven for allowing me to trial this product.

I recently bought Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Wipes after running low on my regular brand and deciding to try something different. At first I rather liked them as they have a pleasant scent and appeared to cleanse quite well. Unfortunately by the second use (the following day) the wipes began to sting my skin. Admittedly I have quite sensitive skin (particularly in the t-zone), but this is one of several Nivea cleansing products that has caused me sensitivity. There must just be an ingredient the company uses that doesn't agree with my skin. Of course I won't let this experience put me off other Nivea products as most of their moisturisers are fantastic. I'm sure these wipes would be fine for anyone without incredibly sensitive skin, as they are otherwise good.

I am generally a fan of L'Oreal products but when it comes to moisturisers I need to steer clear of those containing too much silicone as it plays havoc with my skin. Having enjoyed some of the other products in the Age Perfect line (even though at 43 I'm under the target age range for these products), I decided to try this night cream as it is not loaded with silicone, and I thought most of the other ingredients would agree with my skin. Physically this product is somewhere between the texture of a cream and a balm, is deep yellow in colour, smells lovely and is best applied after warming between the fingers. I only really used this cream for a couple of weeks on my face as I did end up finding it a little heavy for my skin-type, and I thought I was beginning to see the beginnings of a minor break-out. After that I continued on with the cream on my neck and found the results in this area wonderful. My neck looked smooth and all signs of crepeiness had disappeared. I may end up repurchasing this as a neck balm as I think I might like it even better than the product L'Oreal has recently launched for that specific area. Over-all, I'd highly recommend Age Perfect Intense Nutrition Rich Repairing Night Cream for very dry, mature skin and anyone who loves a really rich, nourishing night cream. I think this product would be especially well-suited to the winter months.
