I am a firm believer in the value of facial scrubs in a skincare routine, so I was excited to take part in this trial team project. I was expecting to receive a shower-friendly plastic tube of scrub, so I was somewhat taken back to receive a stylish glass jar (I would never use a glass jar in the shower, as I am chronically clumsy - cue chipped tiles and injured foot!). I am very happy to report that my initial dubious feelings toward this product were completely unfounded, and I am IN LOVE with the Purifying Sugar Scrub with Kiwi Seeds! The product is presented in a square jar with a plastic lid, containing 50 grams of scrub. My initial thought was that this much product would last about 5 uses, but that was before I understood the way this scrub is to be used. I love the green colour, it certainly evokes kiwi fruit, and the scent is to die for - I wish I had a bottle kiwi scrub fragrance. The scrub is applied to clean, dry skin, and massaged gently all over your face. I always take care to scrub around the corners of my nose, the corners of my mouth, and the edges of my face; areas which can often be missed during cleansing. The scrub warms on contact with skin, (which I love!), and the instructions are then to add some warm water to help dissolve the sugar particles. I preferred to wet my fingers with cold water, as I like to feel the warmth of the scrub alone without the addition of warm water. In the instructions for use you are encouraged to use the scrub over the edges of your lips as well, which adds to the sensory experience, as you get a little taste of the sweetness of the product! I then rinsed the scrub off in the shower, and I was left with smooth, soft skin! I was so impressed with how clean my skin looked, and how soft it felt. I didn't notice any reduction in blackheads, as I have had less than a week to trial the product, but my skin did feel so clean and it left no residue on my skin - I love that clean feel! What I really like about the scrub is that it adds a bit of 'specialness' to your skincare routine. Instead of jumping in the shower and scrubbing your face, this product forces you to take some time out for you and your skin, which can help you to relax and wind down at the end of the day. I have used the product 3 times, and am amazed at how little I have used so far. I would definitely buy this scrub again, and recommend it to my friends and family looking for a nice scrub to add a bit of luxury to their routine. The RRP is $19.95, but I know I will be able to find this product on sale at Priceline or pharmacies, so when I do I will be stocking up! 5/5

I have been wanting to try a cushion foundation for some time, so I was pleased to be selected for this trial The foundation is presented in a round compact, with a sponge applicator and the product in separate sections. I opted for the lightest shade, Natural Ivory, and was pleased to find it a perfect match It was very easy to use - simply apply with the sponge. As it has a very light texture, I took a bit of time to build up the coverage to the level I was happy with. I found it a bit tricky to properly apply around the eyes, I normally use my fingers to apply my liquid foundation, and am a bit less dexterous with a sponge. It had a cool, damp feeling on my skin which I quite liked. The coverage was sheer to medium, and left my skin looking dewy and fresh. As I have combination skin I always like to set my foundation. I actually preferred to use the cushion foundation without a primer, as I felt it lasted longer - the primer made my skin feel too damp with the foundation Brisbane has been going through quite a hot period, which gave me the opportunity to really test this foundation. I was very happy to find that it didn't shift from my skin if I happened to be perspiring (unless I happened to rub my face). It lasted quite well during the day, except where it came in contact with my glasses on the bridge of my nose. To be fair, I don't think I've come across a wearable foundation that doesn't rub off in summer where my glasses come in contact with it My main concern with a cushion foundation is the issue of wastage, and how long it will last. I apply my liquid foundation with my fingers, because I hate the amount that gets soaked up in the sponge. It does feel like a lot of product is in the applicator sponge, plus the very idea of cushion foundation is that the product is embedded in the cushion. I have been trialling this product for under 2 weeks, So I have no idea how long it will last with daily usage, but I don't feel like I am going to get more than 2 or 3 months from it. I will update this review once I have reached the bottom of the product! I've enjoyed using this cushion foundation in conjunction with the bronzer, and I think it would be great to take on holidays, so I don't have to haul around a bottle of liquid foundation (and risk it spilling in my luggage!). When it hits the shelves it will retail for around $27 - I probably wouldn't pay that for this cushion foundation, but on sale I would definitely buy it again. 4/5 stars.

I am in my mid-30s, live in Queensland, and have oily / combination / dry skin. I am always keen to trial skin care products, and as I haven't used any Olay products since playing around with Oil of Olay as a child, I was interested to see how the Regenerist range would measure up. All in all, I was very happy. The Micro-Sculpting Night Cream is quite a thick product, it has the appearance of a pale pink gel but far more viscous. It is presented in an opaque red tub, with a silver screw-top lid, which contains 48 grams. One comment I do have about the packaging, is that although the lids of both Micro-Sculpting creams look very modern, they aren't conducive to stacking (I know, it's terrible that I need to stack my skincare products, I didn't mean to have so many products!). The Night Cream is fragrance free. I would cleanse, tone, apply the Pre-Essence and my eye cream, and then my skin was ready for the Micro-Sculpting Night Cream. I didn't need to use very much of the MSNC - it spread very well over my skin. It was slightly heavier than the Micro-Sculpting Cream, and I could feel it on my skin for longer than I could the MSC, but as I was applying it in the evening I didn't mind the heavier feeling. I was very happy with the way my skin looked and felt while using the Olay Regenerist range. The three products worked well together, and my skin looked happy and healthy, and actually felt smoother - I only just realized this when it dawned on me that I have been exfoliating much less often in the shower! In summary, I have been very very impressed with all three products I have trialled in the Olay Regenerist range. It has certainly changed my perception of Olay from supermarket standard to higher end skincare. I would definitely recommend this range, and although the products are priced a little higher than I prefer to spend, when they are on sale I would definitely repurchase - once I wade my way through the mountain of skincare products in my bathroom. 4/5 stars. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this trial.

I was very interested to see how my oily / dry / combination skin would react with the Olay Regenerist range of products, and I'm happy to say my skin definitely agreed with the Micro-Sculpting Cream (essentially the day cream). The MSC is presented in a 48 gram tub, a smart opaque red tub with a sliver lid. I know that tubs are not the most hygienic way to dispense skin-care products, but I do really love the old-school glamour of pots of products that you dip your fingertips into! The MSC is a pale pink colour, with no detectable fragrance, and a little really does go a long way. After applying the Pre-Essence, I would allow it a minute or two to absorb - make use of this time to put on your chosen eye cream. I wouldn't need very much of this product at all, and I would apply all over my face (not eye area of course), neck and décolletage. The MSC absorbed well into my skin, with no oily residue. Around 90% of the time I was applying primer and make-up after using this product, and I was happy with the way my make-up sat on top. As I was using 3 new products at once, I can't really comment on the individual effect of the MSC, but I was really happy with the way my skin looked while trialling the Olay Regenerist range. My skin felt hydrated, and even a little smoother, as I have noticed that I am exfoliating less often in the shower. I feared this MSC may be a bit too heavy for my skin, but it wasn't at all, it stood up well to the heat as summer finally left Brisbane, and now that the temperature has dropped, it is still meeting my skincare needs. I have very fond memories of the iconic glass bottle of pink lotion (and the delicate fragrance) of Oil of Olay in my late Grandmother's bathroom cabinet. But I had never thought of Olay as a 'premium' skincare brand, more a supermarket-level brand. I am pleased to have been part of this trial which has readjusted my view of Olay. I have given 4/5 stars, as I would definitely reuse this product, but only if I could purchase it on sale ($49 per tub - a bit more than I like to pay).

I have combination normal / oily / sometimes dry skin, which I guess is a combination of genetics and being in my mid-30s. So I was keen to trial the Olay Regenerist range. The Pre-Essence is presented in a clear red bottle, with a silver top that doubles as a dropper dispenser. I actually thought the dispenser was quite neat, when you screwed the lid down the pop-top would depress, and when the lid was unscrewed it would draw the essence up into the dispenser as the pop-top released. To deliver the product just press on the pop-top and you have the product on your fingers without having to touch the dispenser at all - very hygienic. After cleansing and toning I would apply one pump all over my face, neck and décolletage area. It has an initially sticky texture and unpleasant smell, but absorbed quickly into my skin without leaving any unpleasant residue or oiliness. It created a nice base for the Micro-Sculpting Cream of choice. It is difficult to isolate the effects of this product alone, but I can say that the Olay Regenerist skin regimen does agree with my skin. I never expect to see miracles from a skin essence or cream, so my benchmark of a good product is does my skin look happy and healthy, and how does my make-up look? I have to say that my skin is looking as happy as it has ever looked (minus the few hormonal spots that pop up from time to time). I was concerned that it may be a bit heavy for my skin type, but in my experience it is very suitable for someone with slightly oily/combination skin. One thing I have definitely noticed is that I am exfoliating my face less in the shower. I don't exfoliate on schedule, I reach for the scrub when my skin feels dry, and the time between exfoliations has definitely increased. The negatives - it has an very unusual smell, it was an unpleasant organic type scent - almost like burnt skin or hair? I did not enjoy this smell at the time of application, but it didn't linger so in the grand scheme of things it didn't really bother me. I also am finding the level of the product does seem to be going down very quickly in the bottle, compared to the Micro-Sculpting Creams, but I do acknowledge that I am using the Pre-Essence twice as much as the MS Creams (one MSC for morning and one for night). I don't need to use a lot of the MS Creams, but that may be due in part to the fact that the essence has already hydrated and prepared my skin - already done the hard work! Another thing that confused me is the name - Pre-Essence? I understood this product is an 'essence', which to me is basically a 'serum', but the description 'Pre-Essence' makes it sound like a product you use prior to applying an 'essence'. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with this offering from Olay, I always thought of it as more of a supermarket standard product, but I will definitely look twice at this range when my overflowing skin-care cupboard becomes depleted! I wouldn't pay the RRP of $40, but I would keep an eye out for sales at Priceline etc. 4/5 stars.

I have become addicted to priming before applying foundation, because I love the smooth, fresh base and how it helps my make-up to last all day. Unfortunately, I was rudely shocked when I tried the Covergirl Outlast All-Day Primer - it had none of the qualities I look for in a primer. The product is white, with a sticky, gel-like texture, and is presented in a small, flat tube. It is easy enough to get out of the packaging, but that is where anything positive about it ends. I would attempt to smooth it over my skin, after applying cleanser/serum/moisturiser (as I always do), but it would clump on my skin and catch in the fine hairs on my face (and I do NOT have a hairy face, I am very fair, I need to tint AND draw on my eyebrows!). When I tried to apply foundation over the primer, it would catch and clump - yuck. On the areas where the foundation would initially adhere, if I tried to touch-up, the foundation would wipe off completely - it had no adhesive properties. One especially alarming result was that my pores would immediately look ENORMOUS - I've never heard of a make-up product that enhances pores (it claims to minimise pores). It also made my skin feel very oily very quickly, and the foundation that did survive the initial application would rub off very easily at the slightest contact. It is priced at $15 per tube, which is not expensive for a primer, but I would not pay for this product, or ever use it again. My make-up lasted better without any primer, and I'm sorry to say the Covergirl Outlast All-Day Primer was a real disappointment.

I have lip balms and chap sticks all over my house, in my car, and in almost every bag I have. And this Intensive Lip Treatment would have to be my favourite! I am a long time fan of the Nutri-Metics apricot scent, I love the bath products and body products and especially the Nutri-Rich oil. However the advantage of the Lip Treatment is that it stays on your lips and is very hydrating, without being sticky or messy. It is presented in a brushed metal tube that looks just like a lipstick, and has a delicate flavour like the Nutri-Rich oil, but a little less intense. The SPF 18 is a big plus, as we generally never think to put sun protection on our lips. The only down side for me is the price - $33 for a single tube. I have taken one star off because of the price. However, Nutri-Metics catalogues often have this on sale, so if you are patient you can usually purchase it for around $10-$15. That is still pricey for a lip balm, but if you are wanting to splash out and treat yourself, or are looking for a gift for that impossible-to-buy-for friend, I suggest stocking up when you see them on sale. Now, I'm just going to my handbag to retrieve my Nutri-Rich Intensive Lip Treatment and hydrate my lips!

I have combination skin tending toward the oily side, and as I'm approaching my mid-30s I've definitely noticed changes in my skin. So I was more than happy to trial the 3-step Dr LeWinn's Eternal Youth regimen. Step 3 - Luminosity Day & Night Eye Cream. The Luminosity Eye Cream is presented in a 15ml silver tube, which has a strange pop-top contraption. I think it designed to be applied to the skin by rolling/gliding the top of the tube over the under-eye area after squeezing an amount out. However I couldn't make this work, it didn't apply the cream evenly and dragged on my skin, which meant I was definitely not going down this path! If it was intended to be applied directly to the eye area from the tube, it would have been better with a roller-ball setup. I would squeeze out a small amount of cream from the top of the tube and pat under my eyes. The cream itself is a creamy-white colour, again with sparkles as per the Essence and Day & Night Cream. I found I didn't need to use too much of this cream, but I didn't like the shimmery particles at all in the eye cream, as I like products designed to be applied around the eye area to be as 'neutral' as possible - if I want any shimmer I will add this when I do my make-up. I was very happy with the Dr LeWinn's Eternal Youth Essence and Day & Night Cream, but I was somewhat ambivalent about the Day & Night Eye Cream. It seemed to absorb quite quickly, but I didn't notice any improvement in tiredness or shadows in my eye area, or a reduction in the lines I've recently noticed. However, to be fair, I've never come across an eye cream that has improved the signs of age and tiredness under my eyes. I would probably pay a lot for that magic product! The Luminosity Day & Night Eye Cream retails for $70, which I feel is very overpriced for this product. I loved the other two products in this range, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase the eye cream again. However, if it was part of a pack containing the Essence and Day & Night Cream, I would use it as part of the set.

I have combination skin tending toward the oily side, and as I'm approaching my mid-30s I've definitely noticed changes in my skin. So I was more than happy to trial the 3-step Dr LeWinn's Eternal Youth regimen. Step 2 - Luminosity Day & Night Cream. The cream is presented in a silver 50ml tub which I quite liked, as it reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor-esque glamour! There is the concern about hygeine when dipping your fingers into a tub of cream, but if you wash your hands well before touching your face, you shouldn't have any issues. Otherwise, you can use a small spatula, but ensure it is clean! The Day & Night Cream is a pale pink colour with shimmery particles throughout it. I don't think these are the 24 karat gold particles, and I am not a huge fan of shimmer in my skincare, but it doesn't seem to bother my skin. The scent is sweet and mild, and I quite enjoy the fragrance while applying the cream. It doesn't contain any SPF, which is good considering it a multi-purpose day and night cream, so I would suggest adding an SPF product to your morning application. My skin is mostly oily, and I found this cream to be quite good for me. I was expecting it to be fairly heavy, but it absorbed quickly, and left no residue, apart from the shimmery particles. The shimmery particles were visible if I left my skin bare, but when I applied foundation and powder it was concealed. If I am going to have illuminated skin, I prefer to apply this as part of my make-up routine. My skin quite liked this moisturizer, it feels smooth and not too oily. I haven't noticed any change in the lines on my face, or reduced any appearance of 'tiredness', but this product is just as good as my current skincare products, which include anti-ageing moisturizers and serums, and is around the same price point. So I conclude it is maintaining my skin's status quo, which I am happy with. The Day & Night Cream is $70 retail for a 50ml tub, which is around the same retail price as my current products (however I NEVER pay full price for them). I would most probably use the Dr LeWinn's Eternal Youth range again, but I wouldn't purchase them at full price, which is the main negative to me. All in all, I would recommend this cream if you can purchase it at a good price!

I have combination skin tending toward the oily side, and as I'm approaching my mid-30s I've definitely noticed changes in my skin. So I was more than happy to trial the 3-step Dr LeWinn's Eternal Youth regimen. Step 1 - Day & Night Golden Essence. This product comes in a 30ml stylish silver pump bottle, and I used a single pump on my neck and face, working upwards. When my skin was completely dry I found it difficult to spread the Essence evenly all over my skin, I seemed to run out and my fingers were dragging on my skin. I was hesitant to use a second pump of Essence as I hate it when I finish one skincare product before the complementary products. So I found the easiest thing to do was ensure my skin was still slightly damp, which facilitated easy distribution from neck to forehead. The Essence is to be used both morning and night, and followed by a moisturising cream and eye cream. The Essence is indeed golden, and it contains shimmery golden particles. The packaging claims it contains 24 Karat Gold, I'm not sure that is what is visible in the Essence, but you do notice the shimmery effect on your skin. I am unsure how I feel about this, I have never been a fan of sparkles in my skincare, but it hasn't had any negative effects on my skin. The Luminosity Essence has a fairly sweet concentrated smell, but it doesn't linger as I use a small amount. I found the Eternal Youth range very good for my skin. I was concerned it may be too heavy for my oily skin, but I found the Essence to be very light and a great starting product. It absorbed quickly into my skin and didn't leave any residue, apart from the slight shimmer. Since I began using this range, my skin has looked and felt happy and healthy, it feels soft and smooth. I haven't noticed a reduction in the lines I am aware of on my face, and I would say is at least equal to the anti-ageing skincare products I was using prior to this (which are in a similar price range). I have been quite happy using the Luminosity Essence, and I would recommend this to others and consider using it again when I am next in the market for skincare. The main down side to me is the price - $70 at full retail - but I have often seen Dr LeWinn's products in packages on sale at the pharmacy, so I would advise keeping an eye out for a good price, and give it a go!
