I have seen these crystal hair removers popping up on Facebook ads and have been intrigued about how they work. There is nothing more annoying then getting out of the shower only to notice that my leg stubble is a little too long to get away with. I have to admit the first time I tried this I was too excited to wait until I had exfoliated and that was a bit of a disaster - there was skin particles flying everywhere and more skin that hair was removed. The second time I actually follow directions and tried it in dry legs post shower after exfoliating. I find it worked well at hair removal on the straights but I just couldn’t get the angles right to be able to remove hairs from the knee and ankle areas. I did find that it took longer than shaving too. I thought it would be a quick alternative to when I have forgotten to shave and don’t want to get back in the shower but it would still be quicker to do that. The major thing I loved about it was no nicks or cuts. It’s something I’d let my preteen use rather than razors.

I love a good shower gel but hate seeing the precious gel slide through my fingers only to disappear down the drain. I also find it hard to get a good lather up if I am just using my hands. The other issue with just using shower gel is that sometimes my skin needs a good exfoliation. Especially over the summer when it was looking a little flaky post beach. These gloves changed all of that. I squirted the gel straight onto the gloves and then rubbed it all over my body and it instantly lathered beautifully. I found myself using less shower gel than I had previously and it left my sling feeling clean and soft afterwards. I noticed a dramatic reduction in leg scaliness as well. I don’t use these daily but maybe every second or third day.

There’s a saying that you can tell the real age of a woman by looking at her hands and I can’t help but think how true. Some days I look down at my hands and they are the hands on an old lady . I love to potter in the garden and never wear gloves. I’m often washing up or doing something else with my hands. Whilst they still feel soft they look dry and wrinkled. For some reason I was expecting this hand cream to be really greasy. I guess my thinking was that I’d it was going to work it would have to be super thick. I have to use a computer all day so I can’t have greasy hands on my keyboard/mouse. Much to my surprise this hand cream absorbed super quickly. It was think yet it was not at all greasy. It felt almost like a dry oil. It instantly made my hands look hydrated. It really did make a visible difference to the lines on my hands. It’s like it filled them all in. I ended up buying a second tube of this to keep in the kitchen to remind me to use after washing up. The other tube stays in my handbag to be busted out whenever I notice my old lady hands!

I haven’t used a metal bristle brush in years so I was expecting this to tug and hurt when I used it. My hair is curly, has been bleached and, thanks to covid, well well well overdue for a trip to the hairdresser so is very unruly. Surprisingly, this glided straight through my hair. I only brush my hair when wet and it went straight through, no issues. Once it passed the pain free test on me it was time to put it to the real test - on my 9 year old daughters hair! Thanks to homeschooling she has basically given up brushing her hair which means that it has a few natural dreadlocks in it and it resembles a birds nest. I started brushing her hair from the tips first, and as those detangled is work my way up higher. To both of our surprises I managed to detangle her hair without the use of spray and without the two of us ending up in a fighting match!! This brush has received a huge tick from my curly damaged hair and my daughters birdsnest!

These strips never fail to disappoint! I’m 40. Blackheads should be a thing of the past, right, something that teenagers have to deal with and not mature age women?? Afraid not!! I used to regularly use these strips when I was younger but hadn’t bought them in years. As soon as I used them again I was transported back to why I loved them so much! They are super easy to use and they work - like seriously what more can you ask for. Yo use them, I wet my nose then stick the strip to it. I then leave it until it is rock hard - I usually try to wait around 15 mins though in reality it’s usually fully dry in under 10. I then loft the edges up on each side and peel carefully towards the Centre of my nose. Then…the most satisfying part - examining the haul of blackheads stuck yo the strip! There are always heaps! It doesn’t hurt and is the easiest way to clear out the blackheads. I like to use it once a week.

Nothing drives me more crazy than my face sticking to my silk pillowcases because my night cream is too sticky, heavy or greasy. Thankfully, this was not an issue at all with the Nivea Naturally Good Organic Argon Oil Regenerating Night Cream. When you open the tub you are hit with the subtle fresh fragrance. Kind of like sweet cucumber. The scent is very pleasant and doesn’t linger especially long at all. The cream is quite think (it wouldn’t spill out if you held the tub upside down) but not as thick as the classic Nivea Creme As the cream comes in a tub, it took me a couple of days so get the amount I needed to use right (slightly more than a pea - a little goes a long way) but once I did I found it absorbed quickly leaving my skin feeling taut and fresh. In the morning my skin has a fresh well rested look about it. I really enjoyed using the cream. I loved the way it felt on my skin and especially how it looked the following day. And the best bit - I didn’t stick to my pillowcase!!

I have dark brown hair that is getting increasingly greyer. BUT I hate going to the hairdresser regularly. Well I don’t hate it but don’t have the time or money. So I try to drag out my colour as long as possible. I will get to a point where, all of a sudden I notice that my roots are completely grey. I tend to notice this just before I about to head out and no matter which way I part my hair there is no hiding it. It’s usually my single that I MUST DYE MY HAIR!! However, if I am due to go out shortly there just isn’t time for that. That’s where this product was brilliant. It allowed me to do the quick touch up I needed to look presentable. I found that it worked really well when I had my hair tied back in a pony, but less well when I was wearing it loose. It was difficult to cover all greys that way. I also found that the colour match wasn’t perfect. It was fine if I was going out at night as it wasn’t noticeable but during the day it still stood out (though not nearly as much as the greys did!). I found this a great product to have on hand for emergency touch ups but not one that would extend the time between dye jobs.

This moisturizer ticked all boxes. It left my skin feeling smooth, absorbed easily, non greasy and contained SPF. I enjoyed using this moisturizer each morning. It has the usual Nivea scent which I don’t mind. It’s a little strong initially but fades very quickly. I tried using this both on its own and layered over my usual serum and both ways it absorbed well Into my skin. With the changing weather, the dryer conditions have left my skin looking and feeling a little papery and I found that this moisturizer eased that. I had been overseas just prior to this trial and the flight had left my skin feeling really dry and flaky and this returned it back to its prior condition. I can’t say I noticed any change in the fine lines that I now have....but being 38 most of these are due to smiling a face movements so I am pretty sure that they are here to stay. Other than that it was a great daily moisturizer.

This is exactly what my skin needed. I have been suffering through a bought of rosacea and whilst this hasn’t helped with the redness, it has completely eradicated the flakies I was getting. This cleansing oil is so easy to use. All you do is massage a couple of pumps in to dry skin then rinse off with water. The water emulsifise with the oil and rinses off complete but leaves the skin feeling cleaned yet not stripped. Makeup slide straight off with this cleanser. No effort was needed to remove it. Same with sunscreen at the end of the day. I think this may actually be the perfect cleanser. I love it. The scent is divine too - lavender.
