Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the OGX conditioner :) The OGX conditioner range has been great for my ends in terms of detangling my knotty ends and making them shiny. This conditioner did exactly that and I found it felt more lightweight than their other conditioner ranges. I do find I have to use a palm size amount to get the benefits and nourishing effects from the conditioner so I find myself going through the conditioner quite quickly. Maybe a bigger bottle size? I do find the bottle amount is perfect for long trips to bring otherwise as an go to conditioner product then it can be pricey.

Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the OGX shampoo :) OGX Argan oil of Morocco has been one of my go to products for haircare because it gives my hair that weightless feel and doesn't dry my hair out (I wash my hair every second day). The Weightless Hydration for fine hair range was perfect for my hair, I have fine thin hair that is prone to oiliness with dry ends. The shampoo helps nourish my hair without aggravating my oils and best of all doesn't weigh my hair down or leave residue after wash like some shampoos can do. It's quick to lather and the scent is beautiful. I wouldn't say it adds volume to my hair but doesn't make my hair more flat either. I do find I have to use a bit more product in comparison to their other ranges so very likely I would get through the shampoo much quicker than usual which can be costly over time.

Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the QV oil free moisturiser :) Overall unfortunately this moisturiser didn’t quite suit my skin. I did enjoy the light consistency and texture of a gel moisturiser but found it pill on my skin when I apply sunscreen and on occasion when I use a primer. That was the experience I was getting during the day so I trialed only at night which does not pill as much but did not sit well with my serums. I found it wasn’t as nourishing as I like it to be giving a nice concoction of hydrating ingredients. I had to use a thicker moisturiser on top, unlikely I would repurchase this. I have acne prone skin that is also prone to dehydration So I needed something more nourishing.

Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the QV oil free gel cleanser :) Overall this product is great for those who have sensitised skin going through a period of inflamed, irritated or outbreak skin such as post skin treatments or acne medication that just needs some calming and repairing of skin barrier. The cleanser has great nourishing and repairing ingredients that can aid it calming the skin during those period. However, it is not my go to cleanser as it doesn’t have acids which I prefer to keep my skin clear. I found this great after I do peels or use strong actives to balance my skin out. I recommend the cleanser for those going through recovery and want something gentle but enough to benefit the skin with drying it out.

Pore strips have been around in the beauty industry for a long time! I've heard every shame and fame about them and really at the end of the day, it comes down to personal experience and whether it's done a positive thing to your skin. For me I love them! My go to is definitely Biore and these ones are the Deep Cleansing pore strips. Biore does good ones because their designs fit nicely over your nose and also for the ones around the corners of your mouth and chin. Very useful! I have an concoction of actives and skin care products going on that combats a lot of my skin issues along with plenty of other products to try including old school favourites and new innovative ones. Despite all of that going on and keeping my skin pristine, there's something about a pore strip that just physically takes away my blackheads and whiteheads! Not amount of acne serums or blackhead/whitehead removal toners or mosituriser physically gets down and dirty in those pores to yank out those pesty heads! Once they're gone, I resume my acne serums, toners moisturiser etc and all my actives and it just refines and smoothes my skin the next day. I know blackheads and white heads come back but I found them coming back at a slower rate and less of it, of course if I keep up with my rigorous skin care routine then they are somewhat kept at bay. I have large pores so not the pore strips won't 'shrink' your pores, but the notion is if those blackheads and whiteheads are not removed or kept in control, the clogged pores get expanded giving the appearance of large pores. The pore srtips removes the black/whiteheads but with an expanded pores there's nothing you can do about it except to keep the skin smooth and clear so to reduce that appearance. Definitely be using pore strips again, but really I use them around 3 times per year, gives me a clean slate to treat my pores!

John Plunkett's AHA serum was my very first I tried almost 10 years ago! How times have changed in the beauty industry! I wouldn't say I just tested on the same serum but the star ingredient glycolic acid is my seasoned buddy for a long time and seems to be so for John Plunkett's SuperBright Exfoliating skin brightener. It comes in 15mL serum that's got 25% glycolic acid which is a lot! Although it is neutralised with ammonium hydroxide, I would be very very interested what the final pH would be! Some products disclosed their pH level of the product which helps in efficiency of the product performance on the skin. There's no point neutralising most or if all of the glycolic acid because it wouldn't do the job! I decided to try a small patch test first, which really was just half of my face. It slightly stung a first but went away a few seconds later. Once dried I applied my moisturiser and woke up the next day having my skin looking slightly flushed. I washed my face and resume my usual skin care routine with no issues. I noticed that morning my skin looked slightly brighter and definitely smoother than usual, makeup application was super sleek and quick thanks to the smooth canvas. How I incorporated this to my skincare routine was not using my actives that night, that includes my retinoid, niacinamide and other acids. My skin was fine using vitamin C the following morning. Unfortuately, I did not notice any improvements to my pigmentation, most of my pigmentation are pretty deep despite their light colour. I know that because they're been their since my late teens! So I'm not surprised it didn't bugged. As for my new pigmentation I get very few because I have a pretty strong skin care regime going on with lots of sun protection. I'm happy to continue using to see if it would complement with my actives so to keep my pigmentation at bay.

I'm always impressed with Dermal Therapy range, I have not tried their body care range so was keen to give their sensitive skin lotion a go! It comes in a generous 250mL practical pump bottle at an affordable price. It is fragrance free which I don't mind and is packed with skin soothing and nourishing ingredients that treats my dry skin and penetrates it to make my skin super soft (I see glycerin) There's no essential oil or thick goopy occlusive ingredients so it allows for quick absorption and perfect for sensitive skin to not induce reaction. The consistency is creamy but not thick and heavy or super light and watery, I don't need to rub vigiriously to allow the product to be disperse which means I don't spend too long in the bathroom appying it! I have kerotosis pilaris on my arms and have super dry elbows, the Dermal Therapy lotion helps soothe the area and keeps my arm smooth, of course in conjuction with other products I use. I also use this with my other mildly fragrant body lotion (my sensitive skin has not reacted) because who doesn't like smelling super fine after a shower! Certainly a repurchase for both winter and summer season!

Basic moisturiser. Affordable. Moisturising for non-problematic normal skin. That's probably my summary of the Glow Lab facial moisturiser. It's got a good blend of moisturising ingredients shea butter, oils, vitamin E and soy. It's great for those who are looking for something that is affordable, has a very basic skin care routine going on and does the job. For me, from my personal experience most of those ingredients would break my out in pimples or my skin becoming congested which after using it for 4-5 days day and night, I had to stop using it. I've got combination acne prone skin so yeah it didn't sit well with my skin type. I've continued to use it as a hand cream because even my neck won't get any benefit out of it. It doesn't quite complement with my skin care products, I use a lot of actives so the essential oils irritated my skin. Anything fragrant I don't mind but this one was quite strong. I found that there weren't a lot of humectants so it almost felt quite dry for my skin, quite an oily finish which just sits on top so it takes a while to absorb before I can put my sunscreen on. Not a repurchase for me.

I suffer from very dry chapped lips for a very long time. I've gone through multiple lip balms with no success in finding a really effective one, even the most popular one like Carmex is a no no for me. A lot of them either 'absorb' too quickly or gets 'evaporated' leaving my lips even drier. The Dermal Therapy original lip balm is one of my HG product which I use at night (yes I use a different one during the day) so when I received the DT lip balm with paw paw I was very excited to try! This works very similar to the OG one, creamy but not too thick but like a light ointment consistency. It smells pretty neutral and definitely does not have an off putting smell. The tube lip balm packaging makes lip life so easy, the application is fuss free and you can control the amount of product, even on cold days or hot days the consistency only changes a little that it doesn't make a mess when you're squeezing the product out. From my personal experience I found DT lip balm with paw paw works very similar to the OG product, minus the slight menthol feel from the OG one. I tried using it throughout the day but found myself reaching out for my other daytime lip balm. It doesn't mean it is a bad product but I found that my lips cannot live without the other and that includes the Dermal Therapy lip balm. I'm happy to use the paw paw version in place of the OG, I found little difference between the two in terms of treatment but with the paw paw having no 'menthol' fresh feeling.

Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the Lady Jayne Salon Pro Scalp brush! I was really excited for this one because I don't really invest in expensive hair brush and having the notion of 'any hair brush will do' would pretty much be okay for my hair. I have long almost to the small of my back thick hair especially a lot of it under the lower half of my head, yet I struggle with volume at the crown of my head. A lot of the times the bristles of the brush just doesn't reach underneath my hair at the back of my head and I end separating in two parts to get the brushing done. Although it didn't bothered me at first but when I used the Lady Jayne brush it changed the way I treat my hair! The luxurious brush is sturdy yet has flexible strong bristles that reaches every strand of my hair, it doesn't pull or tug at my lengths because there are so many bristles that help untangle my strands to make my hair look soft and bouncy. I brush my hair everyday, morning and night and if I go out I brush it in between to keep the style. The brush makes it quick and easy and doesn't tug at my hair which is such a relief! I usually pack on a lot of conditioner fearing my strands will get really knotted but the scalp brush certainly gives my hair a helping hand! I like the brush can be used as a scalp massage which I found to be enjoyable although I don't think it made a difference to my overall hair health. I can't quote wheather it brushed away dandruff and dirt. It probably helps facilitate removal of them before washing your hair so it doesn't get caught in your hair? I do think it is a bit pricey hence the one star loss and the wooden packaging has worn off slightly.
