I selected Esme's Ageless Hyaluronic Serum from the rewards room. The hyaluronic serum is lightweight, has a minimal scent, only a small amount is required as spreads a long way. The glass bottle and dispenser has been well designed, which makes it easy to use. I am possibly not applying the product as intended as I mix a couple drops of the serum together with my moisturiser prior to application. The serum is lightweight, feels great on my skin and makes my skin appear more plump and hydrated. Overall I am very happy with this product and I would buy it again.

This product was redeemed from the BH rewards room haul (thanks La Mav & BH). I was keen to compare La Mav Bakuchiol 4% Natural Retinal Alternative to my usual retinal alternative. The container is well designed & presented, the dropper application prevents cross contamination. I only needed to use x4 drops, this was enough to cover both my face and neck. The product is a 100% bio active vegan alternative to retinol. It contains antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and hydrating soothing carrier oils & essential oils. It smells divine and absorbs easily into the skin. Unlike other retinol type products I have used, La Mav Bakuchiol 4% Natural Retinal Alternative is not irritating & I feel would be suitable for those with sensitive skin. I apply the product of a night & after waiting a couple of minutes, I then apply LaMav omega 3 advanced night cream (x3 times per week). The morning after using; there is visible changes, my 50+ skin looks & feels hydrated, glowing & non irritated. Overall, I’m very impressed & highly recommend.

Thank you Beauty Heaven & QV for the opportunity to trial QV Hydrate & Renew Serum. The serum is lightweight, non-fragrant & calming. It is well presented in an easy to dispense 25g pump container. I found one pump was enough to cover my face & neck. The serum absorbs quickly & easily into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. The serum layers perfectly with my other skin care products and as an added bonus, I was also able to use less of my other products. I am however unconvinced it visibly reduced fine lines or visibly increased my skin hydration. The serum definitely helped decrease my skin sensitivity which I experience over the winter months. I feel it is a great adjunct with other products & I will definitely purchase more of this serum & continue using throughout winter.

Over the past 3 weeks, I have been trialling Avene SPF 50+ sunscreen aqua fluid. The sunscreen is well presented in a 40ml well designed flip lid container. The lid design is so secure, I would be very confident placing it into my bag, knowing it wouldn’t leak. The sunscreen is fragrance free & designed for sensitive skins. The texture is the consistency of a lotion, it is non sticky, absorbs quickly & easily into my skin. Unlike some sunscreens (including premium ones), this did not irritate my skin. I have been using the sunscreen both with & without make up. Without make up, it provides a sheer & non greasy finish. With make up, I tested with both mineral & liquid foundation. Surprisingly, the sunscreen provided a bases which enabled my makeup to last much longer than usual & did not require any touch ups. I am impressed with the product & also the container design. I definitely recommend this product & will be purchasing once it is released onto the market.

The 150ml foam pump is a practical, convenient & easy way to apply cleanser. It is a great everyday skin cleanser & I found the foam lathers & goes a long way if it is applied to premoistened skin. It doesn’t dry out my skin. The scent of lavender, lemon & orange derived from natural essential oils is divine. Though I am careful to avoid eyes.

John Plunkett’s exfoliating skin brightener is a cosmeceutical containing 25% glycolic acid, lactokine to prevent inflammation & aloe Vera to soothe & hydrate the skin. The product is well presented in a 15ml pump bottle & it is recommended to use 1-2 times per week. Upon initial use, I experienced a tingling sensation. My skin is on the sensitive side. It is recommended for those with sensitive skins to rinse the serum off after a minute to avoid irritation (I didn’t experience any redness & choose not to wash off the serum). Once the serum is dry (after a couple of minutes), I apply a rich moisturiser. The tingling sensation has reduced with subsequent applications. I have used the serum x4 times. Prior to using the serum, I had a patch of congested & dry flaky skin on my chin. I also a couple of pimples from wearing face masks. The results have been impressive, my skin is looking smoother, healthier & softer. I love that the product is made in Australia, not tested on animals & is affordable.

The pack of x6 strips are individually wrapped and the well designed slits around the nose enable easy application & fit, the instructions for use & removal are clear to follow. The product is applied to damp skin which is then allowed to dry. Once dried (after approximately 15 minutes), the strip is gently peeled off from the edges & blackheads, dead skin & sebum is meant to adhere to the strip. I have fine & slightly sensitive skin with minimal blackheads/open pores. I found the strip dried very hard however it wasn’t painful to remove, it did not irritate my skin, however it did not remove any deep down dirt, dead skin or blackheads. It did remove some fine hairs leaving my nose feeling smooth. I think the product would be better suited to those with oily skin, larger pores & black heads & would be ideal for teenagers.

Jergens natural glow is presented in a large 220ml plastic flip lid tube. To find the correct shade, it is recommended to choose your natural skin tone as the starting point. The product needs to be used daily until once the correct level has been achieved & then reapplied 1-2 times per week. The white cream is thick, luscious & moisturising, a small amount goes a long way. It absorbs quickly into the skin & unlike many fake tanning products, it does not cause any streaking or colour transfer. The sçent is not at all chemically & the coconut smell is reminiscent of summer holidays by the beach. As a comparison, I applied moisturising cream to one leg & Jergens natural glow to my other. The build up of colour was apparent after a couple of days & the product provided a very natural & even looking colour. I will definitely be using it over the summer months. I am a little sceptical of the products claim to « visibly firmer skin with less noticeable cellulite and improved elasticity ».

The lady Jane salon pro scalp brush is lightweight and ergonomic. The brush metal pins are rust resistant & the cushion pad is super absorbing. I have very fine, shortish hair & the brush pins felt good on my scalp & it outperformed many other brushes more expensive brushes I have purchased over the years. I was a little sceptical of its ability to gently massage the scalp without creating knots, much to my surprise it actually does work & I think it would be good for people with dandruff/psoriasis or a build up of hair product on their scalp. My adult daughters both have long hair. One daughter has a lot of thick, wavy hair & the other has fine, straight hair. The brush didn’t pull any of our x3 different hair types & we all enjoyed the sensation of the gently scalp massage. I now need to purchase another x2 brushes!

Dermal therapy is an Australian made & owned dermatologically tested moisturiser derived from natural ingredients. Dermal therapy recently changed the products name from « dry skin lotion » to « sensitive skin lotion », it is presented in a pump bottle. I received this product as part of a trail. To be honest, despite having dry/itchy skin (especially over the winter months), I am generally not very consistent in applying any lotion/creams to my body. Previously when I did, I found they helped with the itching for a short duration of time & my skin didn’t feel particularly well hydrated. Upon application of Dermal therapy’s sensitive skin lotion, I found it absorbed easily into my skin, it didn’t leave a sticky residue. Since using, there has been a big improvement in my skin, it feels less dry, itchy & rehydrated for the majority of the day. Once I have finished the bottle, I will definitely be repurchasing, thanks BH & Dermal Therapy
