WILDER A: Youthful squad can’t complete comeback

STANWOOD — Wilder A couldn’t pull off the comeback from a five-run deficit and fell 7-5 to the Stanwood Cannons on Wednesday at Stanwood High School.

The youngest Wilder squad (2-10) trailed 7-2 in the sixth when Kade Acker delivered an RBI single and Duran Ward added another as part of a three-run rally.

But Wilder could come no closer. The team hosts the Kitsap Rebels at Volunteer Field at 6 p.m. Friday.
