BLYN — Toughman is bringing its act to town, and fighters from the North Olympic Peninsula are still wanted.
The average-man (and perhaps woman) fights — each scheduled for three one-minute rounds — will take place Friday and Saturday at 7 Cedars Casino.
About 10 Peninsula residents, each planning to fight, showed up at 7 Cedars for a promotional event last Thursday night. They were introduced one-by-one and answered brief questions about themselves on the stage above the casino floor.
A few casino patrons in attendance offered lean applause.
Before being introduced, one Port Angeles 27-year-old described his fighting experience.
“I got suspended for it,” said Eddie Benoit, who at 6-foot and 218 pounds will compete in the heavyweight division, for men between 186 and 400 pounds.
Light heavyweights, the only other class, is for 160- to 185-pounders.
If any women sign up — it costs $50 to compete — they will fight in an open division.
