Sports: Sequim man named Crescent High School boys basketball coach

JOYCE — Mike Lippert of Sequim has been hired as the new Crescent High School boys basketball coach.

“I am excited and relieved to find a coach of Mike’s caliber to lead the program,” said Crescent athletic director David Bingham. “Three weeks ago there were not any applicants for the position and suddenly we had three strong candidates.

“It turned out to be a choice between two strong basketball coaches.”

Lippert, who has been active in coaching Sequim High School varsity summer league teams the past two years, has a strong basketball playing and coaching background, Bingham said.
