Sports: Sequim boys rout Forks, 67-25

SEQUIM — Brady Marunde scored 13 points and Pete McCallum added 12 as the Sequim High Boys basketball team shook early nerves and beat Forks 67-25 on Tuesday.

Chris Mobley and Matt Finitzer each added 10 points for the Wolves in the season-opener for both teams.

“I was surprised we had the jitters as bad as we did,”‘ Sequim coach Brian Roper said. “In the second half we were able to get out and run and we’re best when we do that.”

The Wolves led 21-12 at halftime and held the Spartans to single-digit scoring in each quarter. Sequim out-scored Forks 27-8 in the third period.

Brian Dawkins led Forks (0-1) with nine points and Wayne Daman added seven.

Evan Still chipped in nine for Sequim (1-0) and James Brabant had seven.
