SPORTS: Port Angeles soccer team opens Moseley era with rout

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles girls soccer team opened the Scott Moseley era by scoring more goals in one game than the team managed the entirety of last season, beating 1A Chimacum 12-0 Saturday.

“A lot of girls scored and Elise Reid had her first career shutout,” coach Moseley said.

Abbie Moseley notched five goals and doled out three assists and her sister Kathryn scored twice and had five assists.

Chimacum’s loss comes just two days after Chelsea Benner netted five goals by herself in an 8-5 victory over Life Christian on Thursday.

Port Angeles (1-0-0) hosts Sequim on Monday.
