Sports: Port Angeles loss ends Roughrider season

GIG HARBOR — “It was one of those nights where nothing seemed to be right,”‘ Port Angeles coach Lee Sinnes said of the Roughriders’ 42-31 loss to Gig Harbor on Friday.

The Roughriders finished the season at 5-9 in Narrows League play and 8-12 overall.

Scott Helpenstell had 15 points to lead the Riders while Kevin Konopaski scored eight and grabbed seven rebounds.

Port Angeles fell behind 28-17 after three quarters due to poor shooting and 20 turnovers.

“It wasn’t meant to be,” said Sinnes.
