SPORTS: Chimacum bests Port Townsend in volleyball; Neah Bay wins

PORT TOWNSEND — Chimacum held off archrival Port Townsend in a nonleague volleyball match Monday.

The Cowboys beat the Redskins 3-1 to improve to 5-8 overall. Chimacum is 2-8 in Nisqually League action.

The Cowboys won 25-17, 26-24, 19-25, 25-13.

Cailey Snyder was a perfect 23-of-23 in serving with four aces for Chimacum while Krista Hathaway led the offense with eight kills.

Dani Kaminski had six kills for the Cowboys while Alyssa Gail, a sophomore, had four blocks.

“Natasha Keisel hadgood libero skills tonight,” Chimacum coach Bridgett Kaminski-Richardson said.

The Cowboys next play at Cascade Christian in Puyallup in a Nisqually League match.

NEAH BAY 3, NW YESHIVA 0

SEATTLE — The Red Devils improved to 10-1 on the year with the nonleague road victory Monday night.

Neah Bay won 25-11, 25-21, 25-17.

“We played very well together,” Neah Bay coach Chon Clayton said.

“We had good intensity and we did good things.
