Are you ready for some Monday Night Lights?
Ratings for the NFL’s Monday Night Football might be down because of poor matchups, but if you want to watch some exciting Monday night football in person, schools in Clallam and Jefferson counties will hold a rare full slate of Monday preps games, thanks to Mother Nature.
A passel of games was postponed Friday and Saturday because of strong winds and the periodic closure of the Hood Canal Bridge. Many of these games will be made up tonight.
Here’s a run-down of the games scheduled for today.
Prep football
Chimacum at Vashon, 5 p.m.; Port Angeles at Bremerton, 5:30 p.m.; Klahowya at Port Townsend, 7 p.m.; Quilcene at Evergreen Lutheran (at Franklin Pierce High School),7 p.m.; Sequim at Olympic, 7:15 p.m. The JV football game between Port Angeles and Bremerton scheduled for Monday has been postponed, but no date has been set.
In addition, two scheduled Saturday soccer games between Peninsula College and Shoreline were postponed. The women will play Shoreline at Sigmar Field at 2 p.m., while the men will play at 4 p.m.
Some games were canceled and will either not be rescheduled or a date has not been picked. These are Forks at North Mason and Clallam Bay at Orcas Island. Neah Bay had a bye this weekend, so its schedule was not affected.
Lummi at Crescent was postponed. That game will be played at 6 p.m. Monday at Civic Field in Port Angeles.
Also, two girls prep soccer games scheduled for Saturday were canceled: La Conner at Forks and Chimacum at Klahowya. There has been no word on these games being rescheduled.
