PREP SPORTS: Port Angeles’ home basketball games postponed to Thursday

PORT ANGELES — Continued snowfall in Port Angeles and surrounding areas has forced the postponement of tonight’s (Wednesday) scheduled boys and girls basketball tripleheader at Port Angeles High School.

“We have received [Washington] State Patrol information to stay off the highways today,” Port Angeles athletic director Dwayne Johnson said in an email.

“We will pick this up for tomorrow night: possible adjusted time(s) and same place.”

The games impacted are Clallam Bay girls vs. Rainer Christian (loser-out) 3 p.m.; Port Angeles girls vs. Franklin Pierce, 5 p.m. and Port Angeles boys vs. Fife, 7 p.m.

Nearly the entire slate of Class 2A West Central District boys and girls basketball tournament contests were moved to Thursday, including the Sequim girls game at White River (Buckley).

The Sequim boys now must wait until Friday to face the loser of the Port Angeles-Fife game. That contest is scheduled for Graham-Kapowsin High School at 7:45 p.m.

With Port Angeles moving its games back a day, Neah Bay was forced to follow suit and push its games at Port Angeles to Friday.

The Neah Bay girls will play the winner of a game between Quilcene and Grace Academy at 5:15 p.m. and the Red Devil boys will face Rainier Christian or Tulalip Heritage at 7 p.m.
