PREP ROUNDUP: Forks volleyball locks up second place with win

FORKS — The Forks volleyball team locked up second place in league with a 3-1 victory over Ocosta on Monday.

With the win, the Spartans finished at 7-2 in the Pacific 2B League and 19-5 overall.

Kaidence Rigby led the Spartans with eight kills, six blocks and three aces.

“I ended my senior night on a good note, placing second in league,” Rigby said. “I felt that I played well on the net against their middle hitter. Our whole team built momentum and finished the match strong. Looking forward to the postseason.”

Erika Williams had nine assists, four kills and served 19-for-22 with nine aces. Chloe Gaydeski-St. John had five blocks and served 9-for-11 with four aces. Keana Rowley had four blocks and Elizabeth Soto served 8-for-10 with three aces.

Forks has a final regular season game Wednesday at Chief Leschi (0-9, 1-12). The Spartans begin play Saturday in the District 4 2B volleyball tournament as the No. 2 seed in from the Pacific 2B League. Five of the 12 teams at the district tournament qualify for state.
