FORKS — Forks snapped a three-game losing streak with a dominant win 58-21 victory Friday over North Beach.
The Spartans had a huge 21-5 second quarter to blow the game open.
“[We] played much better team basketball, at least after the first quarter. Everyone worked hard on defense and we didn’t care who scored on ofense,” said coach Keith Weekes. “Every single player scored and overall points were even across the team.”
Aidan Salazar led the Spartans while Brody Lausche scored 11. Ryan Rancourt hit a pair of 3-pointers. Twelve different Forks players scored.
The win was also a bounceback from an 83-51 loss earlier in the week to first-place Chief Leschi.
The win keeps the Spartans in the middle of the pack in the Pacific 2B League. Forks (3-4, 4-8) next plays at South Bend (0-7, 1-12) on Wednesday with a chance to move into third place in league.

Crescent 64, Clallam Bay 29
CLALLAM BAY — The Loggers boys basketball team got 22 points from Conner Ferro-May in a 64-29 win over Clallam Bay on Friday.
Kadon Love also scored 13, while Dom Sprague and Lukas Love each scored eight.
“The second quarter was the pivotal segment of the game. We cinched down on defense and kept pounding the ball inside. We really focused defensively on a couple key Clallam bay guys and were able to open up the game at halftime,” said Crescent coach Chris Ferrier. Crescent outscored Clallam Bay 19-3 in that second quarter.
“The third quarter was really competitive. We really had to scrap and claw to get our baskets. I give lots of credit to Clallam Bay, they are really young and they never quit,” Ferrier said. “The future is pretty bright for them.”
With the win, Crescent improved to 9-3 on the season. The Loggers next host Chief Kitsap (1-4) at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in an official Northwest B League game.
Clallam Bay (3-6) hosts Neah Bay (4-3) at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Girls Basketball
East Jefferson 29, Klahowya 27
SILVERDALE — The East Jefferson girls basketball team knocked off one of their toughest nemesis on the road Friday, edging Klahowya 29-27 in a defensive battle.
Coach Lorraine Rimson said Klahowya is down a bit this year, but that the Eagles are always tough.
“None of our kids had ever beaten them. They have been so good for so long,” Rimson said.
The Rivals outscored the Eagles 10-4 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory.
the Rivals were led by Kay Botkin with nine points and Alyssa Vandenberg with eight.
“Kay, that was the best game she’s ever had,” Rimson said. “Abbie Liske came through with a clutch free throw. It was a great win for the team and the program.”
The East Jefferson boys also beat Klahowya 49-41.
The victory evened the girls’ league record at 4-4 (4-7 overall). East Jefferson will next host Granite Falls at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
The East Jefferson boys (3-5, 6-6) will host Cascade Christian (4-7, 8-8) at 7 p.m. Thursday in Port Townsend.

Girls Bowling
Port Angeles 6, Olympic 1
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles girls bowling regular season ended Friday afternoon with a victory against Olympic.
“It was a solid team effort,” said coach Becky Gundersen. “The girls are peaking at the right time.”
Natalie Robinson had the single game high of 156, as well as a two-game match high of 289. Taylor Worthington earned a turkey, Abby Robinson rolled a two-game 272, and Paige Pangaro scored 257.
The Roughriders, who have gone 7-7 in their first year of bowling, will compete at the league tournament in Silverdale on Thursday.
