PREP ROUNDUP: East Jefferson volleyball wins three straight

CHIMACUM — The East Jefferson volleyball team capped off an undefeated week with a 3-0 win over Klahowya (25-14, 25-16, 25-18) on Friday, improving the Rivals record to 11-3 on the season.

Penina Vailolo led the team with 16 kills and seven blocks, while Kayden Plotner had 22 digs.

Carina Shiflett had six kills and Dylin Shockley had three aces and 12 digs. Libero Stephy Duran had 13 digs while setter Gracee Liske had 25 assists.

“The girls showed great resilience and teamwork this week, playing hard and staying positive,” said coach Carrie Beebe. “They have amazing talent and are so fun to watch. Senior night is Wednesday and we hope to see everyone out supporting them.”

On Wednesday, the Rivals beat Life Christian 3-2.

Vailolo finished with 24 kills, seven blocks and 25 digs while Liske had 33 assists, 16 digs and three aces. Plotner had 30 digs, while Shiflett had nine kills and two blocks. Shockley finished with six kills and 22 digs.

The Rivals are fourth in the top-heavy Nisqually League with a 4-1 record in league. They play at Vashon (0-4, 0-11) today.
