JOYCE — The Crescent Loggers football team completed an undefeated season in 6-man football with a 65-6 thrashing of Mary M. Knight at homecoming Saturday.
Unfortunately, because the Loggers played independently, they don’t get to move on to postseason, so they will have to be satisfied with a 9-0 season. There is a 6-man league called the Coastal League which holds a playoff.
The Loggers dropped down to 6-man this season because of low turnout numbers and they crushed most of their opponents.
Mikah Love had his third straight huge game with 13 rushes for 152 yards and five catches for 43. He had a 23-yard run for a touchdown and a 12-yard run for a touchdown. He added a 9-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Jax Sprague, giving him 13 touchdowns in his past three games.
Liam Sprague had a 21-yard run for a touchdown and a 3-yard TD reception on a pass from Jax Sprague.
Logan Harris also scored on a 31-yard interception return, while Conner Avrett had an 8-yard touchdown run and Kolton Mason a 15-yard interception return for a score.
Jax Sprague also threw a two-yard pass to Eli Tipler for a score while Jackson Girard had a touchdown on a 36-yard run.
East Jefferson 47, Vashon 0
VASHON — The East Jefferson football team ended its season on a high note, crushing Vashon 47-0 to end its season with a record of 4-5.
East Jefferson won its final three games by the combined score of 109-7. The Rivals’ defense allowed just one touchdown over its final 12 quarters.
Jameson Henery had a pick-six and scored another touchdown on a punt return.
Coach Nick Snyder said both Jackson Dupuy and Luke O’Hara had some big runs, while Trig Fountain threw a touchdown pass to Deken Lorenzen.
Snyder said the Rivals only lose Henery on offense next year and they lose some of their linemen and defensive players (Isaac Stuart, Moose DeAngelis, Tyler Martin, Noah Cervantes) but that East Jefferson should be good with a lot of momentum at the end of this season. The Rivals came one win short of making the postseason.
Forks in KC tiebreaker
FORKS — The Forks Spartans have been through an incredible amount of adversity this season, losing both Bubba Hernandez-Stansbury and Landen Olson to season-ending injuries, while also losing several other players at times.
But the Spartans moved on to the postseason after surviving a rare Kansas City three-team tiebreaker Saturday.
All three teams had 1-4 records in the Pacific 2B League with Pe Ell-Willapa Valley winning league with a 3-2 record.
The Spartans faced off first against Raymond-South Bend first and lost. They then had to play Ilwaco and scored a touchdown on a 17-yard pass from Lane Helvey to Cash Barajas on a third-and-long play. That score held up as the Spartans held Ilwaco without a score.
Ilwaco and Raymond-South Bend then played and Raymond-South Bend won, so both Forks and Raymond will move on.
The Spartans are rewarded by playing Toledo, the No. 1-ranked 2B team in the state at 8-0.
“We’re having fun at the end of the year. There’s a lot of teams not playing football, but we still are,” coach Trevor Highfield said.
Neah Bay 58, Concrete 12
NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay football team got up 30-0 in the first quarter in a warm-up for the postseason and got a lot of seniors into the game for the Red Devils’ final home game of the year.
Jontae Akin had touchdown runs of 21, 5 and 18 yards.
One of those seniors, Kane Greene, threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to LeAnthony Jimmicum and caught two passes for another 42 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown catch. He also had a 9-yard touchdown run.
Daniel Greene also scored on a short touchdown run and Eugene Ray had a 6-yard TD run.
Connor Swan led the team with 43 yards rushing on four carries, while Eugene Ray ran four times for 38 yards.
Caleb Cummins threw 3-for-5 for 59 yards.
Neah Bay (6-2), which finished second to Darrington in the Northwest 1B League, will host Oakville (3-6) at 5 p.m. Friday in a Quad-District playoff game with the winner moving on to state.
Tulalip Heritage 78, Quilcene 6
QUILCENE — The Quilcene Rangers wrapped up their regular season with a 78-6 loss to Tulalip Heritage. The Rangers’ score came on a pass from Oliver Hopkins to Liam Neziri. Quilcene (2-6) plays Northwest Christian (5-3) in the Quad-District playoffs this weekend with the winner moving on to state.
Also in games played Thursday night, Olympic beat Port Angeles 46-6 and North Mason beat Sequim 37-23. Those games were reported in Saturday’s print edition of the Peninsula Daily News.
