PORT ANGELES LEFTIES: Lefties outpitched by Redmond

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Lefties got a home run from Riley Parker and outstanding pitching from five hurlers, but couldn’t break through against Redmond’s Jackson Dinkel in a 3-1 loss.

Dinkel went the entire nine innings, allowing five hits and three walks.

The Lefties’ Ryan Wike took the loss but pitched well. He went five innings, gave up two hits and one unearned run. He walked two and struck out four. Port Angeles Roughrider and Wilder Senior Baseball Club member Kole Acker pitched the ninth inning, giving up no hits and no runs and allowing just one walk.

Redmond’s Shu Takahashi did almost all the damage for the Dudes. He went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. The rest of the team managed just two hits.

At the plate, Parker’s sixth-inning home run was the only damage the Lefties could muster against Dinkel. Will Mulflur and Ethan Flodstrom each had a hit and a walk, while Derek Bogh and Jesh Leckey each had singles.

Parker is 7-for-25 in nonleague games with three home runs and six RBIs. He is hitting .323 (40-for-124) in West Coast League action with one home run and 26 RBIs.

The Lefties finished their three-game nonleague series with Redmond Thursday night after press deadline. They return to WCL action with a three-game series with the Yakima Valley Pippins at Civic Field, beginning tonight at 6:35 p.m.
