PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Marathon Association announced the winners this week of its 2025 North Olympic Discovery Kids Marathon medal design contest.
The contest is in its ninth year with 52 submissions this year.
The Grand Prize went to Dennis Tisdale from Queen of Angels School, whose design will be featured on the Kids Marathon Medals. The runners-up also include:
• Samuel Jones, Queen of Angels, 10.
• Nathalia Nolasco, Dry Creek, 9.
• Presley Graham, Dry Creek, 9.
• Cameron Torres, Dry Creek, 9.
In recognition of their achievement, all the winners are awarded complimentary entry into the Kids Marathon, a special certificate and a goody bag to express the association’s gratitude.
Everyone is invited to join the pre-marathon presentation honoring these young artists on Saturday, June 7.
The 22nd annual Kids Marathon will take place at 3 p.m. on June 7 at the Port Angeles City Pier. Registration details for all the NODM events can be found at www.nodm.com.
The NODM is put on by the Port Angeles Marathon Association, which also puts on other Run the Peninsula events year-round such as the Elwha Bridge run, the Sequim Railroad Bridge run, the Spruce Railroad run and the Jamestown Glow run. The NODM is a two-day event June 7-8 that includes a 5K, a 10K, the kids marathon, a half-marathon, a team marathon and a full 26-mile marathon from Blyn to Port Angeles.
The title sponsors of the event are the Sequim Gazette and Peninsula Daily News. The Olympic Medical Center Foundation is the presenting sponsor for the kids marathon.
