NISQUALLY LEAGUE BASEBALL: East Jefferson’s Moore named to second team

PORT TOWNSEND — East Jefferson’s Brody Moore, coming off an outstanding season for the Rivals baseball team, was named to the all-Nisqually League second team.

Moore had a number of outstanding performances for the Rivals. He didn’t win many games but kept East Jefferson in a lot of tight contests.

This season alone, Moore pitched a three-hit 1-0 shutout against Vashon, struck out 10 in a three-hitter against Seattle Christian, struck out 14 in an April 8 game against Klahowya and struck out 11 in a game against Cascade Christian. He actually struck out 15 in a game in his sophomore season.

Also making the honorable mention team was East Jefferson’s Rylan Dunn, who is now playing for the Wilder Baseball Club.

Brock Ryan of Bellevue Christian was named the Nisqually League MVP, while Charles Wright’s Henry Cheney was named coach of the year. Seattle Christian won the league sportsmanship award.
