PORT ANGELES — Mother Nature threw a curveball at the Port Angeles Lefties and their return to Civic Field on Tuesday, as the first game of a three-game series with the Yakima Valley Pippins was postponed due to rain.

The Lefties trailed Yakima Valley 9-0 with the Pippins at the plate with one out in the top of the fifth when the game was initially delayed before being called off. None of the stats from the game will be counted.

The game will be made up as part of a pair of seven-inning contests during a doubleheader today [Wednesday] starting at 5:05 p.m. Tickets dated June 26 are good for both contests of the twin-bill.

Frankie Scalzo is scheduled to take the hill for the Lefties in one of the games, opposed by Mark Finkelnburg of the Pippins.

There will be a 30-minute break between contests.

The cost to sign up is $50, with 100 percent of the money going towards the OMC Pediatrics Clinic through the OMC Foundation.
