GRAND MOUND — In competition this weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge, Klahhane Gymnastic’s combined Platinum/Diamond Xcel team had a great meet, taking two individual all-around medals and the second-place team trophy.
The meet, held from Friday to Sunday, was hosted by Precision Elite Gymnastics of Clackamas, Ore.
Cindy Liang was first in the Platinum Junior A age group with 36.70 all-around with a second individual title on uneven bars (9.25) along with a 9.05 in the floor exercise (5th) and 9.00 on the vault (4th.)
Lainy Vig took third on the uneven bars in the same age group with 8.65. In the Junior B age group, Anne Edwards was third all-around (36.00). She took a first-place medal on the uneven bars (9.50) and second on floor (9.25).
Emma Sharp and Maizie Tucker vaulted well in the Senior A age group with scores of 8.9 and 8.7 and Julienne Jacobs scored an 8.9 on balance beam in the Senior B competition.
Cassii MIddlestead took the all-around gold in the Diamond Division competition with a 35.40 total, taking individual titles on balance beam (9.4) and uneven bars, adding second-place medals on floor exercise (9.15) and vault (8.70). Kianna Miller was second on balance beam (9.30) and Danica Miller was third on floor exercise (9.00).
In the Xcel Silver Division competition, Isabelle Pecoraro finished fourth all-around (35.20) with two additional fourth-place finishes on uneven bars (8.75) and floor exercise (9.15). In the Senior A age group, Addisyn Ellis-Bourm picked up two fifth-place medals on floor exercise (9.0) and vault (8.8), finishing sixth all-around (34.65).
All of the Xcel Team members received qualifying scores to the state competition in March.
Earlier in the weekend in Level 3 competition Kayli Crouse took third on vault (9.20) and scored 34.875 all-around in the Junior D age group. Samantha Aranda finished with 33.55 all-around in the Senior A group and Clare Bowchop scored 32.025 in the Junior B group. Crouse and Aranda have qualified to the sectional competition in April and Bowechop has received the first of two required qualifying scores.
The next competition for the team is the A Whale of a Meet in Silverdale February 25-26.
