Gladfelter, Pyeatt make all-state XC

OLYMPIA — Port Angeles cross-country runner Jack Gladfelter and Sequim harrier Riley Pyeatt were both named to the all-state cross-country boys and girls team this week.

Both Gladfelter and Pyeatt finished in the top 10 in the 2A classification, with Gladfelter helping his team finish fifth in the state. They made all-state by having top 50 times in all classifications.

Pyeatt finished fifth in the 2A girls race held in Pasco on Nov. 6 with a time of 18 minutes, 50.0 seconds, good for 16th in the state among all classifications from 4A to 1B.

Gladfelter finished 10th in the 2A boys race and 48th among all classifications with a time of 16:27.3.

Peninsula volleyball

PORT ANGELES — The Timber Spikes got by Harbinger 2-0 (27-25, 25-15) in Peninsula College Volleyball B Division action Monday night.

Steim Dental was too much for Set For Life, winning 2-0 (25-16, 25-19), and No Diggity edged Killin’ It 2-1 (25-17, 22-25, 15-11).

Finally, Orv’s Ohana cooled off the Hot Peppers 2-1 (21-25, 25-21, 15-11).
