GIRLS BASKETBALL: Forks girls reel in Ilwaco

FORKS — Forks moved a step closer to repeating as Pacific League girls basketball champs by beating Ilwaco at home Wednesday.

The Spartans (7-0, 13-3) can clinch the league crown with a win tonight at home against Raymond-South Bend

“I was pretty happy with our defensive performance,” coach David Hurn said. “We applied pressure the whole game to try and wear them down. We hustled and we finished the job there in the end.”

Keira Johnson led Forks with 37 points and 11 rebounds. Younger sister Bailey hit the glass even harder, grabbing 16 rebounds, with six steals and seven points.

“It was a physical game (with) both teams going after every loose ball and we knew we had to do that to win it,” Hurn said.
