EXTREME SPORTS PARK: Pair of five-time champions crowned

PORT ANGELES — There were five-time winners in two classes at the American Sprint Boat Racing Series which concluded this weekend at the Extreme Sports Park outside of Port Angeles.

Winning all five races, including two at the ESP this season, in the unlimited series was driver River Rogers and navigator Cole Keatts in their Pure Insanity 285 boat. Coming in second was Eric Werner and Jen Farmer in the Jolly Rogers 907 boat and third was Leighton Lillie and Brian Carter in Preventing Insanity.

Winning their fifth race of the year in the 400 class were Werner and Farmer, this time in the Jolly Rogers 180 boat. Second place was Steven and Randi Church in Bad Influence 156 and third was Brad and Savannah Cassell in Nuckin Futz 85.

Winning the modified class this weekend at the ESP was Selden Glebe and Logan Harden in the Full Tilt 03 boat. Eric Petring and Scarlett Taylor in Bad Idea 509 came in second and third place was Jeff and Margaret Purcell in the Purcell Racing 154 boat.

The Pure Insanity and Jolly Rogers 180 boats both easily won their classes for the season. The points are still being calculated in the modified class for the overall 2025 winner, but the Checkmate 55 boat driven by Frank Toftemark and Kelly Toftemark had a relatively big lead in the modified class coming into this weekend with four first-place finishes and 346 points to 242 for the Jolly Roger 208 boat of T.J Burrows and Keith Brownsberger. The Toftemarks won the modified class at the Extreme Sports Park back in July.

In addition to the two races in Port Angeles, the ASBR series also held two races this season in Lewiston, Idaho, and another in Yakima.
