PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College women’s soccer team recently held a signing event for its sophomores in which seven players from the Northwest Athletic Conference powerhouse cemented plans to play at the next level.
Malia Brudvik, Kelly Kevershan, Janis Martinez, Jayna Morikawa, Maddy Parton, Sarah Reiber and Emelie Small all signed national letters of intent to play at universities across the country.
Brudvik will continue her soccer career at the University of Mary, a Division II college in Bismarck, N.D.; Kevershan, the Peninsula College student body president, will play at California State San Bernardino, a Division II university in San Bernardino, Calif.
Martinez moves on to University of New Mexico Highlands, in Las Vegas, N.M.; Morikawa heads to the Midwest to play for Upper Iowa University, a Division II college in Fayette, Iowa; Maddy Parton is bound for Northwest Nazarene University, also a Division II, in Nampa, Idaho; Sarah Reiber will join Martinez at Westninster College in Salt Lake City; and Emelie Small landed a Division I offer from the University of Nevada, Reno.
NWAC Player of the Year Sydney Warren, who completed her AA Degree earlier in the year, previously signed to play at the University of Portland, a Division I university in Portland, Oregon.
Also signing this week was Joey Hollimon from the men’s soccer team. He will join Kelly Kevershan from the women’s team at Cal State San Bernardino.
