COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Pirates blow out Highline to improve to 13-1

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College men’s basketball team came back from a long layoff, swamping Highline 81-56 to improve its record to 13-1.

Mikey Medlock Jr. hit six 3-pointers and led all scorers with 22. Roosevelt Williams Jr. played his first game in several weeks and had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Former Port Angeles Roughrider Gary Johnson had his best game of the year, hitting four 3-pointers and finishing with 12 points. Malik Jackson had 11 points to go with six rebounds and six assists.

It was the Pirates’ first game since Dec. 18. Peninsula begins North Division play Wednesday on the road at Bellevue (10-4).
