JOYCE — Taholah scored with 29 seconds remaining to beat Clallam Bay 22-14 in the B8 state football quarterfinals on Saturday at Crescent High School.
“It’s a tough way to go out,” Clallam Bay coach Andy Ritter said. “You have to give it to Taholah. They did a really good job of controlling the clock and the ball.”
After giving up the go-ahead touchdown, the Bruins were 39 yards out and down to their last play.
As the final whistle sounded, Kyle Gregory caught a short pass from a back-peddling Annan Bowlby. Gregory ran to the end zone but was tripped up near the 15-yard line to end the game.
