ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Thomas Hughes, Blaker Wiker, Sequim tennis doubles team

The Sequim duo of Thomas Hughes and Blake Wiker dominated at the Olympic League Tennis Championships this past weekend.

Not only did Hughes and Wiker not lose a single match en route to a league championship, they didn’t even lose a single set, winning all four of their matches in straight sets.

Hughes and Wiker are used to success as they head to the district tennis meet.

Last year at district, Hughes and Wiker won four out of five matches and qualified for the state 2A tennis meet.

Wiker is also an outstanding golfer for Sequim,qualifying for the state 2A golf tournament the past three years, finishing 10th at state last year.
