Sequim’s Zeke Schmadeke has moved into his new role with the Wolves football team with ease.
Moving from quarterback to flanker/running back this season, Schmadeke had a whale of a game in a tough physical battle against Olympic Peninsula rival Forks. Schmadeke caught six passes for 101 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown catch in the first half and an 8-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter that turned out to be the game-winner.
Schmadeke also ran the ball eight times for 62 yards and had a crucial 31-yard punt return in the fourth quarter to set up the Wolves’ winning touchdown drive. Schmadeke even completed two passes. He gained 208 total yards all purpose including rushing, receiving, passing and returns.
Schmadeke and his Sequim teammates have a big challenge this coming weekend at 4A Mariner.
