ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Mikkiah Brady, Port Angeles basketball player

Port Angeles’ Mikkiah Brady is a big part of the Roughriders’ solid start to the season, with two straight league wins last week to have a solid hold on second place in the Olympic League 2A Division at 4-1.

First, Brady chipped in nine points in a blowout win over Bremerton. Then, in a tough win against Olympic last week, she poured in seven points in the crucial third quarter and finished with 11 for the game.

Brady is a “veteran” as a sophomore on a very young, yet good Port Angeles squad, as she got varsity experience last year that is proving valuable this year in leading the Riders.

Athlete of the Week is brought to you by the sports department at the Peninsula Daily News along with the sponsorship of Swain’s General Store serving Clallam and Jefferson counties since 1957.
